So, I am going to compete for n a local tournament. The fluff is xenos against imperium so I am going to battle against marines and guard. The point limit is 1000 pts and I am puzzled a bit cause I can't choose what to take. I would like to tell me your list or your opinion?

Here a list I posted as suggestion a while ago, it bases on the principle to join a cronometrum-cryptek to a unit of destroyers to make it super-hard to kill. Veil of darkness gives that deathstar one teleport/game which gives you a moment of surprise. The triarch stalker has its big pie plate to fight hordes, the deathmarks (and heavy destroyers) are anti MC (not necesary against guard and marines, but deathmarks can still work as anti-droppod). The heavy destroyers are against tanks and heavy infantry. The deathstar gives you plenty of AP3 (superb against marines) HQ: Cryptek, cronometrum, veil of darkness Troops: 10 warriors 10 warriors Elite: Triarch stalker with particle shredder (horde kill!) 5 deathmarks Fast attack: 6 Destroyers, 1 of em heavy. (Cryptek in here) Heavy support: 3 Heavy destroyers |

Lots of directions you can go. What units do you have, roughly? Some ideas: * Old-school Wraiths&Scythes: Cryptek w/Gauntlet of the Conflagrator 5x Immortal /NS 10x Warrior /NS, Cryptek goes here 5x Wraith, 5 coils 5x Wraith, 5 coils Optionally swap one unit of Wraiths for another 5xImmortal in NS. Gauntlet is only one shot but mimmicks the old deathmark+despair-tek combo. Nightscythes lets you drop your units exactly where you want them, and S7 tesla is still good even with the nerfs. Light on scoring, though. * Vehicleless Decurion (so their AV weaponry is wasted) 5x Immortal 5x Lychguard sword&board Nemessor Zahndrekh or Overlord with Veil, depending on how you want to play. 6x Tomb Blade, Vanes, Scope, Gauss 15x Warrior ~10xWarrior Deathmarks or Flayed ones for the remainder. Many ways to configure a list like that. You could even squeeze in the Deathbringer flight if you wanted, and use Zahndrekh to reroll reserves so both come in at the same time. Canoptek Harvest and Judicator Batalion can fit as well, albeit tightly. * Double or tripple Warriors in Ghost Arks Cryptek, Veil 15x Warrior 3 x 10xWarrior /GA Try to keep a few warriors in the blob outside of LoS so it doesn't get wiped and can be rebuilt. Lots of variations if you only run two Arks. |

It generally helps us if you tell us what models you have, and sometimes what kind of tourney it will be. Ie. eternal War / Maelstrom, or one of the independents like LVO/BAO, Adepticon, etc, since it might make a difference as well, since they might have different restrictions. Either way here is my 1k list. Decurion or CAD Zahndrekh 19 Warrior 14 Warriors 14 Warriors 7 Immortals (T) 5 TBlades (SV,N,PB) |

For Eternal War missions, CAD's have an advantage since objectives only really count at the end. Having resilient troops like ours means your opponent has a fight on his hands. Since you're also going to run Cityfight and assuming there will be plenty of terrain, I'd suggest running a CAD with 2 units of Wraiths. They can move around unhindered and should have PLENTY of LOS blocking terrain to really stick it to your opponent. Destroyers would also work well, since their high AP shots and mobility would work well for the same reasons. Your list is really heavy on Assault units that won't be Obsec for late game objective grabbing. Not that this will matter much, but it could cost you if someone plays to take out your 2 Immortal units, then plays hide n seek until the end of the game. |
