How do I deal with this stuff?; Help for list writing

Hello everyone, after a series of difficulties in playing and pondering, I decided to create this topic where I will list my collection of models, with the intention of collecting suggestions and plans to write fitting lists.

To begin, I'd like something a really round-complete to create a basic, personal list for many occasions.

Here's what I have got:

1 Overlord
2Lords
1Crypteks
1 Destroyer Lord
1 Anrakyr
24 warriors
10 Immortals with Tesla
5 Deathmarks
3 Canoptek Wraiths
9 Scarab bases.
1 canoptek Spyder
2 Annihlation Barges with both gauss and tesla
1 assembled Doom Scythe.
1 Scythe without attached cannon
(coming) 3 tomb blades with particle beamers

What point total(s) are you aiming for? Do you have a local meta or are you just wanting a simple TAC(take all comers) style list? And also are you aiming to win or aiming for both parties to have fun?

Well, there's almost a reclamation legion + canoptek harvest (would benefit from 3 more wraiths) + deathbringer flight + deathmarks (could use another 5), there, and that's not a bad all comers list. Probably enough for a royal court, too.

I know it is pretty pretentious, but I am aming at something really shooting-based (except well, for the Canoptek formation), and which I can easily mount to shift from 1000 to 1750 points, and that is balance between serious and fun.

About my meta...well, it is a bit complicated: I usually faced any kind of army, from orks to space marine and even Imperial guards, so, I'd like to improve both tank hunting and suppressing fire, all-corners great peculiarities of the necrons; I am not a really skilled player, but I still have tons of problems especially with Tau armies.


I'd like to suggestions on how to deepstrike or otherwise cross the border very quickly, in order to balance some units behind and in front of my enemies.

for maximum mobility I'd suggest tomblades. Gauss, vanes, scope and lots of them. Also provides good antiair.
Problem with tomblades is that they are quite expensive (moneywhise)

Tomb Blades and Destroyers are your best options with Ghost Arks and Monoliths being close options as well. Of course, this is for units that you want to start on the board.

If you get into Deep Striking, then we also get Deathmarks and Praetorians as well. This means having a core force that can take it while you wait for your reserves, which is the trick to succeeding and the reason such lists usually fail.

We do have 2 of the best units in the Game for mobility though. The Nightscythe and the Monolith. Most armies would KILL to have a flying Transport that could deploy w/o having to go to Hover, and if it died wouldn't do anything to the unit inside.

Monoliths, give an amazing amount of mobility by allowing you to redeploy any unit on the field as if it was a transport. I don't use them anymore, but taking your force from one side of the board to the other in 1 turn really throws some armies off their game. He thinks he's got control over the one side of the board, then the appearance of 2 more units that he was trying to avoid just show up.

I'm not saying they don't have their weaknesses, but they are something you should look at from a mobility issue. In any case, you should look at what is going to start on the table, what you want it to do, and how will your meta deal with it while you wait for your reserves.

Nemesor Zahndrekh really helps out if you have a lot of reserves (strategic genious). As for staying power, Reclamation Legion and Canoptek Harvest does a good job of soaking up first turn shooting, I find.

I greatly prefer precision insertion with Nightscythes rather than deep striking, and a full unit of Warriors or Immortals rapidfireing into a priority target can easily make back their cost in their first turn of shooting. Sending along a Cryptek with Gauntlet of the Conflagrator will clean out just about any infantry relying on 2+/3+ armour.

This should be a pretty solid list. Air dropped deathstar that will murderize both MEQ and TEQ, and can deepstrike away if caught in CC. Alternatively let Zahndrekh get the Lord and deepstrike his unit on turn two when your Nightscythes come in.

Oh, and I'd recommend ungluing the Deathray on the Doomscythe, and magnetize it so you can switch around. Which leads to another option; starting the deathstar on the ground and having a Deathbringer Flight. Lots of options here. :lord:
