So, I'm out of commission since I broke my arm and trying to pass the time. As I was going over my lists, I thought why not just make a straight Reclamation Legion. This is expanded off my 'Unbound' list. It's still Battle-forged since I'm still using the one formation. That or the pain melds are giving me crazy ideas.

Zahndrekh
20 Warriors
15 Warriors
15 Warriors
15 Warriors
15 Warriors
8 Immortals (T)
8 Immortals (T)
8 Immortals (T)
5 Tomb Blades (SV,N,PB)
5 Tomb Blades (SV,N,PB)

Comes in at 1838. I can drop 2 Warriors for 2 more Immortals to get it to 1846. I like this list better since the Immortals are there for support. I'm not playing a Decurion, so I shouldn't hear any complaints. I do own all these models. I don't ever plan on Lychguard so not gonna try n fit them in. I think swapping 2 of those Warrior Units for Monoliths could work when I get them again.

Do I understand correctly that you dont use decurion because your buddies would complain??? (because it would be easy to make that decurion)

I like it, althought I'd probably go minimal units of warriors in all the blops except zahndrekhs blop. Its just more mobile to have bunches of 10 than bunches of 15...and synergy-whise, it doesnt make a difference

Id also (if you own more blades) drop a unit of immortals and get more blades in there with particle beamers. Why? because its too cool to have 15 small blasts raining over the opponent :D

Btw, how did you break you arm? :D

Almost. I want to run the Reclamation Legion, and in places where I don't have buddies that are tolerant of Unbound, I need to have a solution. We're all aware that the general opinion on the Decurion is that it is OP, at least for the time being. Outside of an Event, I don't mind not playing it, but I don't tend to have much fun unless I'm playing Rec Legion.

I will try the minimum squad size, but it's been my Experince that 14+ will survive a Turn. Granted, I'm used to having a 4+ RP, even in Previous editions. If I find that the 14+ are dying anyways, then I'll go with it.

I don't have more Tomb Blades, but I'd love to get some more. The 10 is plenty for most lists, and if you look at my 4k list, I'm still not using all of the models I own. Obviously everything is on hold. If I did, I'd drop the 5th unit of Warriors and put the spares into the other Warrior units.

-----

I broke my Arm while roller skating in Vegas last week. I was already trying to recover from being kicked out of my apartment, couch surfing until I got some money for a deposit on a New Place. Which sucks because the last two places have run off with my Deposit.

With the Arm, I'm now outta work, so I'm moving back up with family to start over again. Adding to my forces isn't really an option, and with Space Marines around the corner I'm going to be behind. Not really a priority, but still on my mind since I have a lot of free time.

Ah ok...Its just because the list is so easy to make decurion (just drop some immortals and get deathmarks instead). I'd say: If your opponents dont want to fight unbound...their problem, then play decurion with the deathmarks. I think if you tell your opponent "Either you let me play this unbound list, or I just add some deathmarks and give my whole army a +1 on RP", they will reconsider their point of view quite quickly ;)

For the warriors: I just find that MSU concept usually has its advantages. Granted, 10 warriors die easier than 15, but thats not the question (because its not a fair comparasion). The question is: do 2 units of 15 warriors die easier than 3 units of 10??? I would say yes. MSU is devastating especially against deathstar-builds, where you limit the opponents killing potential.
Lets say for example you face a demonprince-spam list. You wont kill all of them before they get close, so at some point they get into CC. At this point its crucial to have small units...the demon prince might kill one unit each turn (if very lucky), but you limit its damage potencial to 10 warriors/turn, instead of 15 warriors/ turn. So at the end of the day, the opponents list will do less damage to you.

As for the tomblades: I dont say more are necesary...I say more would be fun :D. I see that you tend to play silvertide-lists most of the time..why not put a bit of variation in that to make things a bit different? tomblade-particle beamer spam is just too cool.
But if you dont have more, I full understand that its not viable. I mean, tomblades are actually quite expensive models, especially in your current situation.

Your situation sucks...but just keep going and dont worry. Fresh start means new opportunities. Reanimation protocols activated! Haha

Substitute 'Deathmarks' for 'Flayed Ones' and yeah, that's my Decurion. Deathmarks are another unit I'll probably never pick up. Not that they're bad, but It'd be adding more shooting to an already shooting heavy collection.

My Praetorians are staring at me. I have the time, just not the arm to put them together. List wise, I want to play around with the Assault units more. Mainly Scarabs, Praetorians, and a 2nd unit or even a 3rd of Flayed Ones. I'll eventually throw my Wraiths out there again, but don't think their tactics have changed.

2 Monoliths thrown in there and I think I'll be done collecting Necrons.

But why not try something completely different, like tons of deathmarks instead of tons of immortals? Not because of effectiveness, but because of variation. Might be me, but I'm changing my lists all the time. (before proxiying, lately as I just can play vasall I can take whatever I want anyways). I very rarely play with the same list 2 times...

This obviously depends on the person..but I see that your lists are mostly small variations of basically the same silvertide list..why not do something completely different just for fun? If you dont have the models, just proxy :D. Its fun to try out crazy stuff.
