Wow. Even though it's a simpler kit, working the resin and all the cleanup you have to do is quite a lot of work. I actually enjoy the fact that the resin is so 'workable', but it takes a lot to get the remains of the gates off the parts. Also, I had some shifts/overlaps and had to model those out with my mouldline remover. Took me just under two days from washing the parts to getting it all put together.

I'm going to put it on either a 130mm or a 160mm round base (will base my Stalker too when I get to it) and add it to the paint queue.

Forgive the quality of the second photo, my Immortals got caught in a bad light lol.

Mine was rather bubbly. Did you have that problem?

No, not bad at all on bubbles; two or three. I only had to fill one of them. The others are not visible.

Very cool. I love forgeworld stuff, but it's too expensive. However, Brexit may lower the exchange rate significantly. Maybe I'll buy that Emperor's Children task force I've been eyeing. The price of the kits is why I'm scratchbuilding a Tomb citadel. Also, the photo isn't bad. I know I've done worse. I really should get my cousin to give me some lessons.

Thanks Sarnakh. The pound seems to be stabilizing and still a favorable exchange rate for a FW purchase.

I got the Sentry Pylon mounted on a GW 160mm round base and quite happy with that. I'll be sure to update with a pic once it's all painted up.

Ahead of it in the paint queue; my final 3 Immortals, then my Overlord, Monolith, Ghost Ark (uggh, cool kit but tedious), Spyder and Night Scythe.

One of the things I've found with the ghost ark is if you don't glue the middle section and the back section (and prow if you wanna have it split between ghost and DDay ark), you can pull it apart when it wrecks and it looks cool and doesn't do unnecessary damage to the model by laying it on the side.

Thanks for that, it is an interesting notion! I will look into during final assembly.

I think building/painting a Ghost Ark is our penance for choosing Necrons :D

On a related note to the Pylon, I gave my Night Shroud kit a good evaluation, now that I know a bit more about the work involved with a FW kit and it is looking promising! Looking forward to that build in the next month or two.
