Greetings, fellow Overlords. Inspiration struck me recently and my results are posted below. As mentioned in a previous post (from quite some time ago), I loathe the Tomb Blade model that Games Workshop has produced. I aimed to create something that would be more believable, but also something that stayed true to the "What you see is what you get" and also still had a Necron-y feel to it. I used only the parts from the Tomb Blade kit, mixed them around, and after my Crypteks spent considerable time playing with it..... well see for yourself. What does everyone think? Huh, interesting, to say the least... personally, I'm math-hammering the numbers for a homebrew unit: A Tomb Lord (trademark Lord who rides on a tomb blade, complete with arcana and wargear, but no rez orb, tachyon or flamer). Would love to see something like that. >.> Also, di that head from a praetorian pack by chance? Edited by Syramis, Aug 18 2016, 02:23 AM.

Looks interesting! This looks like your crypteks 'borrowed' an immortal and a Tomb Blade and then smashed them together! Luckily they don't feel pain, so its all good. Canoptek Wasp seems like a good name for them. Also, were you the one who replaced the warriors with Spyder heads? If you don't mind, I'd like to use those in a piece of necron fic. |

Interesting. I actually like the Tomb Blade model, but I hate the Destroyer model. I saw a kitbash with some acanthrites that I was considering pursuing, but starting with a tomb blade might be a better choice... Cool model, though. Edited by Irrumare, Aug 19 2016, 04:26 PM.

Syramis. I believe there is a killteam rulset that allows you to give a lord a tomb blade. You might want to look into it. |

Syramis- Sounds like a cool idea. Yes, the head is from the Triarch Praetorian box. Sarnakh- "Canoptek Wasp..." I like it. My inspiration was actually a character called Nocturne from the game, League of Legends Irrumare- I'm not fond of the Destroyers either haha. One of my next projects will be to find a better alternative. Stay tuned! Edited by DeathGrantsWings, Aug 20 2016, 03:39 AM.

Alright so... after some thinking and tinkering, my Crypteks have modified the Tomb Blade bodies and are pleased to present the below product: Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image I really liked how most of the older model turned out... but I didn't think the big fin on the bottom mixed with the overall model. Additionally, when I showed my friend, he said it reminded him of a character from a game called "League of Legends". I decided he was right, and tried to emulate the whispy-tail-thing that the character model in game has. Picture of Nocturne below for comparison- you can see that even in the artwork, the focus is on the blades... and in my case the focus should be on the Gaus Blasters. Posted Image I have 4 more of these to make for my list, and I think there are some very cool ways I can model the wires to show the figure is "zooming" from different angles.... What does everyone think of version 2.0? |

I'm doing a heavy destroyer that has legs, a gun, and a blade. His back has triarch antigravs, which is how I'm fluffing his jet pack infantry status. |
