http://w11.zetaboards.com/Necrontyr_Online/single/?p=10000081&t=30007080 So, let us begin the first OOC thread of the first RP thread to grace these eternal boards of awesome! SG-TG takes place on a hive-turned-death world which once counted itself part of the Imperium. For now it is unknown how, why, or when, and for the most part nobody cares. As illustrated, the two armies will be ork and necron, and people are welcome to RP members of either race, with legions of soldiers ample enough that the details are non-sequential. To join, I would like to ask each person provide a filled out version of the 'profile' presented below, I know I will. As implied, more then one dynasty have staked a mutual interest in this planet(though deception and betrayal are all well and welcome), so go nuts! And same goes for the orks, if anyone cares to RP as the green tide's leadership. Name: Dynasty: Rank: Unit Archtype: Wargear: And now for my own profile~ Name: Varguard Syramis Dynasty: Jerathi'tekh, higher sect of the Nihiltekh. Rank: Regent Lord, Third of his Phaeron's Chosen, acting as Varguard. Unit Archtype: Lychguard Wargear: Warscythe, Ghostmantle, Phylactery Edited by Syramis, Sep 8 2016, 03:23 PM.

Back, sorry, IRL is pretty unforgiving, and Zalaan has anxiety, so large groups, even in an RP can be hard for her. For now I've siddled over that taking control of a large scale canoptek swarm put her into shock, which just adds insult to injury for Syr's plan, which everyone basically hit with exterminautis from all sides anyways >.< |

Heheh, Exterminatus is certainly the right word to use....(heads up, that's foreshadowing there, I think.) (hint: refer to the last WotP bridge scene.) So, this must be completely OOC, but does anyone have any guesses as to who the Αυγή Λεπίδες are? I admit I will be rather impressed if anyone can figure it out. An addendum: Tell Zalaan that we all think she's awesome, and that there's no pressure, just support. (If that will somehow add pressure or anxiety let me know before she reads this and I'll delete it.) Edited by Sarnakh the Sunderer, Mar 15 2017, 03:26 AM.

Yes we do. I'm sorry if I particularly have caused anyone any trouble - I mean no harm. Honest. Oh, and sorry for saying sorry - I do that a lot. Who's writing the next post? Sarnakh, let me guess - are they representatives of the Triarch? Edited by Mithihotep the Indomitable, Mar 15 2017, 02:15 PM.

Myth: I think that's up to Syramis and Zalaan, as we're waiting for the former (in-RP) and the latter was last seen up to something in the bowels of the Twilight Skiv . Also, good guess, but incorrect. It is not a starship, though they have a few at their disposal. They think they will make a difference, but in this great storybook of the universe they're just one chapter, one chunk of the story. Addendum to Post: I will not have internet access starting tomorrow, regaining it for a few precious hours on Friday, and then losing it again, ending mid-to-late Sunday. Sorry 'bout this, but I think we'll be fine unless one of you decides to blow up the archives or something (which will piss off Piff. Don't piss Piff off; as the Phaeron's Favored they have a few tricks up their ribcages). Also, please nobody write anything about the Αυγή Αεπίδες arriving. They're special to me, OOC. They'll arrive when they do, and I can just about guarantee nobody has a [DCPI] clue who the rad-hell they are, or what kind of ship they've got. [/end rant]. (Sorry bout that.) Anyway, long and short of it is I can't write for the next few days and I am formally requesting no-one post as my characters until I'm back, and formally release them. Nothing personal, so don't be offended. Edited by Sarnakh the Sunderer, Mar 16 2017, 03:48 AM.

Aaaaand I'm back, Lords, Ladies, and Crypteks. My period of no-connection is done, and I can now resume work on this RP. (Also, anyone got anymore guesses?) |

How long do you suppose Dugbog would take to get to where Mithihotep and Sarnakh are? I'm no exactly sure where the two locations would be in relation to each other, so I'm not sure how far it is for the Snakebite horde and Squig swarm to walk it

We can probably handwave it as they arrive right after Syramis-despite the distance, they are just very good runners. Otherwise, if you want a concrete answer, that would require a lot of work with a map, determining the size of this world (since it isn't a major tomb complex, probably a very large moon/small planet in size), the exact positions of where all relevant locations are, and a lot of other stuff. So, a handwave or a lot of work. Take your pick (though Sy should decide as he 'owns' this RP). |

Yes it would save a lot of waiting around if they appeared just after Syramis, and keeps up the tension of the campaign. |

Agreed, Myth. Although, I'm tempted to work on that anyway just to establish a lot of that stuff...and my usual weekly commitment is canceled for the next two weeks, but I took on the Iron Guantlet Challenge on another faction-specific board, so I should probably work on that...maybe during the summer when I won't have as much work to do. Perhaps then. Be pretty cool, I think. We do need a name for this planet, both Necrontyr and Imperial so we can do proper lore for it. As an aside, I think I will do a small interim post from the POV of the keeper of this vault, the Archivist. After that, anyone is free to post as him, as while I theoretically own the character, I have nothing fleshed out about him. Perhaps the C'Tan should be a community character too. |

Syramis has PM'ed me to say he is rather mired in real life at the moment and hasn't had time to post, so I may post again as either Mithihotep or Dugbog if that's OK with you |

I am also wondering how the heck Syr is going to get there... Do keep in mind he was under direct orders NOT TO MOVE from his location, especially east(the direction I assume they are all at). If given leave to do so, he could easily do a green mist recall over, and rush to take advantage of the ruins and structures to mount a more solid defense. |

Sy, I PMed you some details we can work out later. I saw your post, I had forgotten about those orders, honestly. All sorts of things I'm forgetting that I should be remembering, but then I'm banking on some of that (along with obscure references) so that no one guesses my third reason for being on the forsaken dustball, so I don't have room to talk. |

For the name of the planet, how about Memphara as the Necrontyr name and Sanctus IV as the Imperial name? |

I like the Necrontyr name, Myth, but sanctus unfortunately doesn't work, as it was part of a major space wolf action that I believe is still unresolved. And even if it is, I bet there would still be imperial guard units there, unless we want this to take place before then, as it only statyed in 998 M41. https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000_7th_edition#New_Campaign_Supplements Unfortunately, I can't think of anything different at the moment. Maybe we can just write [Records Lost] until we get a good name for it, or come to a consensus on Sanctus. |

I thought it sounded familiar. I've thought of another one - how about Aquillius IV? |

"Mortrenae" or Morbidus for the Imperium or is one more necrony? it is a combination of the latin words for "dead" and "sand". which I thought it would be quite fitting Edited by Ryza, Apr 1 2017, 12:17 AM.

Sorry all, I literally have not had a day off in several months now... I am piecing together a post though, and in preparation, I would like to ask of, when the Varguard arrives, all the present phaerons would permit him command of their legions in the double sided fight against the C'tan AND the orks. Also how exactly they would reply to such a request. Obviously he'd be as polite as his stiff nature would allow... |

Syramis: Hey, man, don't worry about it. Life happens. I'll edit my last post soon in which Sarn releases Sy to do what he needs to. When he gets to the vaults and asks for control of the legions, this is about what Sarnakh will say. "I will instruct my legions to follow your orders as if they were my own. But bear this in mind: my legions do not obey orders because that is how they are programmed. It is because they do so out of respect for both the personal power of the one above them, and respect for the position the one above them holds, and often personal respect. Do not expect my legions and their lords to obey without question, nor even the lowest warrior phalanx to mindlessly obey. They can still consider the battlefield and act accordingly, even if it means disobeying orders, then they shall do so. They shall be as much yours as they are mine." With as much of a twinkle in his eye as his metal skull could allow, he added, "I shall, however, retain override on unengaged, nonvital, or personal units. My flagship is down, and I still need some force to call my own, after all." For reference as to why that's possible, and even permissible, check my dynasty fluff thread. It'll have some interesting stuff there. Ryza: I like Morbidus. Mortrenae sounds too French, unfortunately, though it is would fit. Ultimately I think Sy and Zalaan should cast deciding votes on the imperial name, and it doesn't even have to be resolved now, so everyone can take their time thinking about it. I'll edit it tomorrow. It's a little to late at night to spend too much time on a laptop. |

I have just done a nice, if rather sad, little flashback to explain Mithihotep's hatred of the C'Tan. There are a couple of little references in there which I challenge you to try and spot. One is quite easy and reflects Mithihotep's possible personality through the character I have based him upon. The other is much much harder and you will only get it if you've seen Star Trek Deep Space Nine, specifically the episode where they encounter another of the 'lost' shapeshifters like Constable Odo and bring him back to the station. I look forward to seeing who can get the references first, as a bit of fun.
