So, I have a squad of wraiths I bought recently. I was wondering if a cryptek wraith would be a good idea. The reason it doesn't have a 3+ invul is it have a phase shifter and is spreading out the field to make a chronometron. The pistol underneath would be the shooting weapon, maybe using the transdimensional beamer for the staff. Of course, this would need to be convertible to a regular wraith in terms of build, as I only have one box of three and I'm not in the mood to go hunting on ebay for a spare sprue. On a side note, does anyone have tips on how to magnetise/swap out whipcoils and the regular blades that come with it? I want to be able to use whipcoils, but I also want to experiment with the T-beamer, but don't want to lock it in permanently. Any help you can provide is much appreciated, fellow lords and ladies. |

You want to convert a wraith to a cryptek? Great! I like it. I first thought you were discussing how to play a unit of wraiths that also has a cryptek in it. (this would hardly ever have any tactical value) Note this would give the cryptek a bigger footprint and make it easier to target and harder to get cover etc. I havent modelled wraiths yet, playing with some models that I bought second hand only. Making the whipcoils sit firmly enough would be the challenge with magnetization, try to give it some phsyical support in addition to the magnet, ie so that it slides or fits in somewhere and then the magnet holds it in that position. How small magnets do you have? Multiple small magnets, a bit spread out, might be strong enough to match one bigger. I'm sure you could glue some bits onto the pistol or gun to make it more like the staff. (When I magnetized lychguard I put one small magnet on the underarm and one in the hand, giving it to places to connect to its shield, which worked better, and nicer looking, than just one big magnet to hold it) |
