Hello rustbuckets! Thinking about joining the ranks of undead space robots, its been in my mind since the start of 7th and I'm taking the plunge, been playing 8th every other week since the release and loving it. I Understand Necrons isn't in the best place yet (but who is without a codex) but this is what I'm thinking for 2000 points, it pretty straight forward, please let me know what you think!

Battalion Detachement

HQ:
-Catacomb Command Barge, Gauss Cannon, Warscytche
-Cryptek
-Cryptek

TROOPS:
-20 Warriors
-10 Immortals, Tesla Carbines
-10 Immortals, Tesla Carbines

ELITES:
-Triarch Stalker, Twin Heavy Gauss Cannon
-Triarch Stalker, Twin Heavy Gauss Cannon

-FAST:
-5 Canoptek Scarabs
-5 Canoptek Wraiths, Particle Casters

HEAVY:
-Doomsday Ark
-Doomsday Ark

2000p exactly.

Im thinking that the army will blob up togheter, except for the Wraiths who will be more offensive of and the scarabs to block, take objectives, screen etc. The army feels pretty damn small now when I'm looking at it lol, please let me know what you think!

Maybe try taking a cryptek out and putting another barge in. Also, try and get one more scarab so you can make an outrider (by splitting the scarabs up). To get the points I would probably drop your 20 warriors down to 10 gauss Immortals. Overall the list looks pretty good.

The Monolith might work well together with Grand Illusioning up a couple of troop units.

If you want more of a gunline type of approach you could replace the Monolith with 2 Doomsday Arks.

How do you find the short range of the Triarch Stalker Heat rays work for you? I have only run them with Gauss.

Also consider replacing all the warriors with Immortals. Two 10 man units and one smaller unit. Although having a couple of units of Warriors should be the norm in a Necron army. Let's hope that the codex gives something that buffs the warriors weather it's Cryptek wargear or Stratagems.
