Hey guys, been so busy playing my DG in 8th I have completely neglected my Necron project (just waiting for that codex). Now with Chapter Approved warlord trait and relic I want to try something with my Sylvaneth Counts as Necron army. Here's what I got:

Overlord with warscythe, orb, new warlord trait, and relic
3x 20 units of flayed ones
3x crypteks
Canoptek Tomb Stalker
Gauss Pylon

My plan is to hide 1 flayed one unit, crypteks (may replace 2 with unit of spiders), and Overlord out of LoS in a corner somewhere, then reserve everything else. Turn 1 redeploy the overlord and flayed ones for charging. DS pylon in for support and shooting, and then DS the other 2 units of flayed ones + crawler within the invuln aura. This is all setup for a that long 9" charge. Hopefully some get in, if not then they have to sit in that invuln field and endure a round of shooting. Overlord pops res orb if needed. Turn 2 everything charges.

How viable does this sound to you guys? It's my attempt at a necron alpha strike melee list.

I'd love to see it in action!

I think Flayed ones are too fragile to weather a round of shooting. Any army with some horde clearing shooting and a CC unit or two will have the upper hand unless you make those charges.

But I like it! It's certainly all or nothing. Please try it some time!
