If you wish to use a character that has a kekkai genkai (Bloodline) or uses Hidden Jutsu, you must first create a custom clan here. A Custom Clan Template can be found pinned within this forum. Create a new topic with the clan's name as the title and the country is located in as the topic description. Paste the template into the topic and fill it out entirely. WIP's will be archived. If for some reason you cannot finish completing the template before you must carry on with your life, please save your WIP in Notepad or a similar app on your computer to finish later.

Once you've posted your completed Custom Clan, a staff member will review the clan to make sure it isn't overpowered and fits our criteria. You will be given the opportunity to edit the template if the staff member finds any issues. When the staff member finds your clan meets our criteria, he/she will tag the topic for Admin Approval. The Admin will look over the clan to ensure that it will fit within our roleplay, and give his/her final approval if he/she finds no issues with the clan.

Your custom clan will be moved to Clan Encyclopedia once it has been approved. Once your clan has been approved you may make a character from that clan.

If you wish for your character to be a member of a certain clan, read over the clan info in the Clan Encyclopedia first and make sure your character concept conforms to the clan. If you wish for your character to be a member of your own original clan, please post a custom clan in Clan Processing to be approvedbefore posting your character.

The topic title should by your character's surname followed by his/her given name--no commas, please. The topic description should be the country your character is from. We are only accepting characters from the Four Great Shinobi Nations at this time. In the future, we may allow characters from minor countries.

Create a topic here to increase your character's stats. A Stat Template is pinned within this forum explaining how to do this. Copy the Stat Template and paste it in a new topic. The topic title should be " Stat Increase". You can increase multiple stats in a single topic. Bear in mind that, like jutsu and weapons, it will cost your character XP to increase his/her stats.

One hundred years ago, the Tagoya Clan, a shinobi mercenary clan from the lands to the west, made a pact of peace with the Magoma, a clan of ronin, whom they had fought many times over the years and came to respect as skilled combatants. Together the two mercenary clans staked a claim to the lands they wished to inhabit and built their capitol and shinobi village, The Village Hidden Amongst the Blades--or the Hidden Blade Village.

Shinobi based in Ken no Kuni are exceptionally talented with swords and kenjutsu. They also excel at conducting chakra through their weapons, an art that was mastered by the samurai many centuries ago.

Ken no Kuni is the land lying furthest to west amongst the Four Great Shinobi Nations. It is mostly grasslands with forests dotting the country here and there. Three rivers run through the country. The eastern river, the Black River, creates a border between Taiyo no Kuni and Kemono no Kuni. The central river, the Heart River, runs from north to south and the Hidden Blade Village is located on its western bank near the heart of the country. The western river branches off from the Heart River a few miles north of the Hidden Blade Village and snakes to the southwest far past Ken no Kuni's western border.

Ken no Kuni is often at odds with Kemono no Kuni. The two countries have been at war three times over the past one hundred years, and each new day brings the possibility that the countries will go to war again. Ken no Kuni also experiences frequent raids from mercenary clans in lands in the west. Because of its several altercations with outsiders, Ken no Kuni is very xenophobic.

Kemono no Kuni was formed by several small mercenary shinobi clans based out of the Forests of Monsters. The country expanded quickly and soon its borders met with Ken no Kuni to the west and Taiyo no Kuni to the north. Its hidden village is called the The Village Hidden Within Canopies--or the Hidden Canopy Village. The village primarily consists of treehouses interconnected with each other by bridges.

The Hidden Canopy Village is known for its excellent hunters and trackers. The shinobi of the village also excel at guerilla warfare and setting traps and ambushes. Many shinobi from the Hidden Canopy Village have animal familiars.

Kemono no Kuni's landscape consist of mostly tropical rainforests, as well as a mountain range to the north called the Fang Mountains, which act as a natural border between Kemono no Kuni and Taiyo no Kuni. Several small rivers and lakes dot the country, as well. The river that runs directly through the heart of the Hidden Canopy Village is called the Mother River, because many smaller rivers branch out from it.

Kemono no Kuni often has border skirmishes with Ken no Kuni. The two countries have fought three wars over the years, and it will only take tiniest of sparks to ignite another one. Shinobi from Ken no Kuni often kill or capture countrymen from Kemono no Kuni if they stray across the border into their lands, which often incites Kemono no Kuni to retaliate by raiding into Ken no Kuni.

Taiyo no Kuni was the first of the Four Great Shinobi Nations. The country was formed out of necessity, as the small bands of mercenary shinobi living in the White Desert joined together to increase their chances of survival in the harsh environment. Though Taiyo no Kuni has often raided into other countries, very few countries have sought to raid into Taiyo no Kuni, mostly because there is very little to steal in the White Desert and anyone not adapted to the desert environment is likely to die within days of entering the country. The country's hidden village is called the Village Hidden Amongst the Dunes--or the Hidden Dune Village.

Shinobi from the Hidden Dune Village are very hardy and capable of surviving in very harsh conditions. They are also well versed in the use poisons and antidotes. Much like the shinobi from the Hidden Canopy Village, Hidden Dune shinobi are good at ambushing and laying traps.

The entirety of Taiyo no Kuni is desert, called the White Desert because of its glistening white sand. Oasis dot the country, the largest of which is where the Hidden Dune Village is located. The country is hard to navigate without a guide to steer you away from quick sand and towards water.

To date, Taiyo no Kuni has not experienced any wars with any of the other Great Shinobi Nations. It has a very loose alliance with Kemono no Kuni to protect both countries from invasion from east, namely the barbarian clans of the eastern lands and Umi no Kuni.

Umi no Kuni is a collection of five islands that joined into a country shortly after Taiyo no Kuni was formed. The islands from smallest to largest are: Gull Island, the island furthest to the west; Gray Isle, the island furthest to the north; Ghost Island, the island furthest to the south; Golden Isle, the island furthest to the east; and the Great Island, which lies in a central location to the other four islands. Umi no Kuni's hidden village is located on Great Island and is called the Village Hidden Within the Storm--or the Hidden Storm Village.

Shinobi from the Hidden Storm Village are known largely to be amphibious, meaning they often approach their targets by water and then proceed to land to close the final distance. It is said that a storm is a Hidden Storm shinobi's greatest ally, though whether it is because the storm cloaks their movements or creates diversion is still not clear to the rest of the world.

Umi no Kuni's main island, the Great Island, remains shrouded by a massive hurricane year round, with the Great Island within the eye of the great storm. All of the islands are tropical. Gull Island is widely known for its large population of sea gulls and sea hawks. A small village is located on Gull Island called Nato Village. Golden Isle is the first island to see the rays of the sun each morning. A majority Umi no Kuni's farmland is on Golden Isle, and it has three moderately sized villages on it: Tayo, to the north; Gama, which lies central on the island; and Saka, which lies on the southern end of the island. Ghost Island once contained a small city, but a storm wiped the city away sixty years ago, and none have sought to rebuild there. Gray Isle is constantly shrouded in mist and fog. It has a small fishing village there called Doma Village.

Umi no Kuni has never been to war with any of the other Great Shinobi Nations, but all of other great nations are wary of the country. Too little is known about Umi no Kuni due to its isolation from the rest of the world. The greatest threat that Umi no Kuni has shown is that its shinobi accept a large number of contracts from the mainland, which creates a rivalry between it and the other Great Shinobi Nations.
