I've listened to a couple of digitised LPs, I'm sorry, but give me CD and stereo recording any day. Nothing quite beats the nostalgic look and feel of vinyl though, and come the End of Days, quite useful for passing the time once the power has all failed, I suspect :P
You need electricity to run the speakers, receiver and turntable. I grew up on CDs and tapes...but I love records cause the art and beauty and it sounds good. I own millions of CDs cause I like remastered stuff of the oldies I love.

I own over 2000 vinyl records and about 300 45 singles

Haha, you wouldn't need electricity if you had a phonograph... Not sure if it'd take modern records though.

Funnily enough, I only last week started properly collecting CDs. I did have to spend quite a lot of time messing around on my computer to get it ripped though. Still, it's worth it to have a permanent collection rather than relying on Youtube all the time.

Modern records (1950s- now) YES THEY ARE STILL MADE!!! wont work on phono graphs and if they did they will be destroyed. You need a stylus not a bloody needle.

Most of my CDs are on my computer...itunes. I NEVER have MP3 only ALAC (Lossless). I have...12363 songs, 31.5 days, 274.22 GB of music

I think something might have gone wrong with the quoting in your post Jack.

As for lossless, I agree with you. I can't really tell the difference at the moment (have a crappy set of headphones), but the majority of my music is either FLAC or .ape files with a few ALAC files in between. I only use MP3 when I can't possibly avoid it.

I do the same. I own a lot of music. I adore music. I write and play music and I review it for people. It's a favourite of mine...as well as photography.

Oh, interesting. Have you ever had your reviews published? Or do you mean personal recommendations for friends and that kind of thing?

Oooh!

I wish I was talented enough to write and play music. All I can do is sing. Dx

As a registered insane person music and art keep me goin'.

I've written for school papers and won a Rolling Stone contest for the Beatles BBC Volume 2 on Vinyl.

My house is littered with old Melody Makers, New Musical Express magazines from the 60s, 70s, and 80s
