| What is New Hyperion? New Hyperion (NH) is a region of NationStates. It is an empire built on the principles of Hyperionism, our guiding philosophy. Great! How do I sign up? Hold on there, buddy, you haven't even registered yet! You'll have to scroll up (or just click here) and take care of that first. After that, take a look at those four forums at the top of the list. The Low Orbit Welcome Wagon is where you can apply for Plebeianship and introduce yourself. You can undergo Patricianship if you're interested in leadership. For everything else, go to Imperial Service. What if I'm a diplomat? Go to the Immigration Desk instead, and we'll get you masked. What's the government situation look like? Our region has three main levels of command: the Imperial Council, the Inquisition, and the Hyperion Senate. The Imperial Council (IC) consists of the Autarch, Chancellor, Lord Inquisitor, High Lords, and military command. It assembles when sensitive or secret decisions need to be made. Its members otherwise act separately as department heads and administrators. The Inquisition is the law enforcement of the region. Inquisitors ensure that all members are complying with any requirements currently set in place, and, along with the Lord of Development, also controls admission into the Patrician caste. The Judiciary, our courts system, also exists as part of the Inquisition. The Hyperion Senate consists of all our Patricians, and is the primary body of law and policy. The Senate operates somewhere between a democracy and a mob, and doesn't necessarily need hard votes to get things done. While the IC is technically superior to the Senate, it is more common for the Councillors to participate as Senators. As such, the Hyperion Senate tends to be the most important part of the entire government. Is that it? Of course not, that would be dry and boring. Granted, the Hyperion Senate is about as boring as a discussion on abortion, but you probably don't want to deal with its squabbles and silliness 24/7. That's why we have the Imperial Service and the military. The Imperial Service consists of the various departments, such as Foreign Affairs and Recruitment. All departments are volunteer-only, though enlistment and training in the Hyperian Guard is highly recommended for all members. In general, however, you will be encouraged to join under-staffed departments. Oh yeah, didn't your recruitment telegram mention an RP? Why yes it did! While we allow other RPs, of course, our main RP is the one that sets the standard of our theme and culture. It's kind of complex and involved, but once you get the ball rolling it's about as smooth sailing as any other RP. What if I need help? Pop us a question. Our patience is legendary. You may also check the Great Library of Trantor for answers to some of the more common questions. |

Okay, so there's a new RP. My first question is... how the fuck does this actually work? |

Haha, I think Ramos could simply be incredibly on edge at this point, thus being incredibly paranoid, and thus seeing everyone around him as an enemy. So it would not be out of character for him to go all Hitler on us and trying to take on the world. Especially after his son has just been kidnapped. But know this, if he declares war on anyone before my agents are out of the country, his son is dead. He can't really expect to get much support for war if terrorists are already waging war on him. That would further destabilise his government and cause further rioting, meaning I could destroy him from the inside without ever lifting a gun. As to figuring out that I've tracked the penguins, that's not likely. They give off small amounts of radiation that no-one who wasn't involved with their design would be able to identify, as the radiation being given off is only ever-so-slightly higher than the natural occurring background radiation. |

See? I know how to wage war. I'm a lot more intelligent than you people give me credit for. @Miri You'll have to find that out when the posts are made to ally the two. |

Well, not according to you NS stats, you're not. ![]() And yes, I suppose we'll see what makes Frosty and me such great allies in the next few posts. Apart from our dark senses of humour, of course. Edited by Laurentus, Dec 17 2014, 01:44 PM.

I've edited my last PvC post to go along with the kidnapping. You all are welcome to dig it up and read it if you want. (Bottom of the second page) |

No. I will be instituting a new protocol, shutting down Port Alexandria. By the way, if you want to know the truth. The hurricane is really a ploy for any extraneous personnel (spies) to be trapped within the city. No one is escaping, I think Though, your story kidnapping Roen has a bit of inconsistencies. Your "primitive terrorists" have somehow found the Prime Ministeral compound, breached it using "primitive guns", and obviously killing the trained soldiers that were there, kidnapped Ramos' son, without either looking at cameras, getting caught on the way leaving the area and hiding either within the country or in another country. And if they aren't using primitive guns, they must have gotten it from some country, and I seriously doubt they raided a Miricanian stockpile. Your story doesn't make much sense, and Ramos will see through it. And then we also assume that these people got into the country without any trouble either, as to not be put on a watchlist. There are too many assumptions in this story. We assume the guy sent a DVD, we assume that no one can detect the tracking signal of the penguins. We assume these terrorists are somewhere hiding in Miricano or if not, they left the nation without detection. Sorry, I'm just frustrated now. |

You're pretty much trying your best to find flaws now. Do you see your corruption stat? You could just as easily assume that it was an inside job, as that is where all evidence is pointing. And as stated earlier... oh, forget it. Time to use capitals again. AS STATED EARLIER, THIS KIDNAPPING TOOK PLACE BEFORE YOUR UPGRADE IN SECURITY. WE VERY MUCH MADE IT LOOK LIKE AN INSIDE JOB. WE FIRED NO WEAPONS, AND LOOPED ALL FOOTAGE ON THE CAMERAS. WE SNEAKED PAST ANY GUARDS WE DID ENCOUNTER. MEANING THE LOGICAL CONCLUSION IS AN INSIDE MAN. SAME GOES FOR WHEN WE GOT INTO THE COUNTRY. BLUEHOLT DIDN'T HAVE THE LEVEL OF SECURITY THAT MIRICANO HAS. OUR PROBLEM NOW IS GETTING OUT. And the penguins... For god's sake, you didn't even think of the penguins before I mentioned them. I didn't say it was impossible to figure out we're tracking them, I said it's highly unlikely. Since you didn't consider this when I first sold them to you, why would you now? We don't assume my guy sent DVDs. He sent DVDs. That has been confirmed. You've been the one doing the assuming, like assuming Colbentiellian and Laurentian agents would enter through official channels. And I don't quite understand what you're doing with the hurricane. Are you saying there isn't really one developing? If so, how dense do you think our scientists would be to give me that false info? You yourself stated in the OOC earlier that this hurricane is happening. All in all, I think you're just sour because it's starting to sink in how little chance you stand in a war against Frostmark, and now you're suddenly changing already-accepted situations. Um Laurentus. The compound was never in Blueholt..... It was in Miricano. This your point is kinda mute about security upgrades. Miricano was always on top with security .... I always said it was outside of Stanton, which is in MIRICANO! That's why I left the old map up. Edited by Miricano, Dec 17 2014, 02:31 PM.

I'm not talking about where it's located. Until yesterday, every single person here had been using Blueholt stats. It wasn't until you stated that you think it's only fair that you be allowed to use Miricano that you actually started using those stats. And you're not answering my question about the Hurricane. |
