The Hyperion Order
Imperial Council

| What is New Hyperion? New Hyperion (NH) is a region of NationStates. It is an empire built on the principles of Hyperionism, our guiding philosophy. Great! How do I sign up? Hold on there, buddy, you haven't even registered yet! You'll have to scroll up (or just click here) and take care of that first. After that, take a look at those four forums at the top of the list. The Low Orbit Welcome Wagon is where you can apply for Plebeianship and introduce yourself. You can undergo Patricianship if you're interested in leadership. For everything else, go to Imperial Service. What if I'm a diplomat? Go to the Immigration Desk instead, and we'll get you masked. What's the government situation look like? Our region has three main levels of command: the Imperial Council, the Inquisition, and the Hyperion Senate. The Imperial Council (IC) consists of the Autarch, Chancellor, Lord Inquisitor, High Lords, and military command. It assembles when sensitive or secret decisions need to be made. Its members otherwise act separately as department heads and administrators. The Inquisition is the law enforcement of the region. Inquisitors ensure that all members are complying with any requirements currently set in place, and, along with the Lord of Development, also controls admission into the Patrician caste. The Judiciary, our courts system, also exists as part of the Inquisition. The Hyperion Senate consists of all our Patricians, and is the primary body of law and policy. The Senate operates somewhere between a democracy and a mob, and doesn't necessarily need hard votes to get things done. While the IC is technically superior to the Senate, it is more common for the Councillors to participate as Senators. As such, the Hyperion Senate tends to be the most important part of the entire government. Is that it? Of course not, that would be dry and boring. Granted, the Hyperion Senate is about as boring as a discussion on abortion, but you probably don't want to deal with its squabbles and silliness 24/7. That's why we have the Imperial Service and the military. The Imperial Service consists of the various departments, such as Foreign Affairs and Recruitment. All departments are volunteer-only, though enlistment and training in the Hyperian Guard is highly recommended for all members. In general, however, you will be encouraged to join under-staffed departments. Oh yeah, didn't your recruitment telegram mention an RP? Why yes it did! While we allow other RPs, of course, our main RP is the one that sets the standard of our theme and culture. It's kind of complex and involved, but once you get the ball rolling it's about as smooth sailing as any other RP. What if I need help? Pop us a question. Our patience is legendary. You may also check the Great Library of Trantor for answers to some of the more common questions. |

Okay, so there's a new RP. My first question is... how the fuck does this actually work? |

1. Geostationary satellites work in a way that they fly at the same speed the earth is rotating, thus keeping them over the same area. They wouldn't look suspicious at all because technically they wouldn't be moving. These satalites, like all weather satalittes, have Water Vapor, Infrared, and Visible Cameras so the view of the African Continent could taken 24/7 2. I sincerely apologize about the Afrikaans part. I'm as American as they get and I had no clue about Afrikaans language. I should had used more regional appropriate names, but this also shows Fletcher's naivety to the region. 3. I also apologize about the geography. Fletcher came from the rock of Gibraltar to Morocco so yes, the climate is going to be harsh. Though, a map of Laurentus States would be nice. 4. I should have specifically defined Fletcher's plans in Laurentus States. He is really there to keep tabs on the Emperor, not to find Roen. I think I defined that in my second to last post, but I will make it more prevalent 5. I just re-read your post and you didn't have anything about a formal alliance. So, yes that will be edited out. Though, I could say since Emperor's daughter decided to pay Frostmark a visit, I could see that as an act of aggression. But, I probably won't pan that out until later. |

So my question now would be how you know Sarilla is there, and why we wouldn't get suspicious with another weather satellite? |

I was thinking that, and I can't come up with anything good. I won't include it. But mind you, actions will still be taken against Laurentus States due to the hacking. The court of public opinion isn't favoring you in Miricano |

Thank you. I am curious about these "rumors," though. My government isn't even considering an alliance with Laurentus, just with Frostmark. Yet. There's no need to change your post again about that, as it would be logical to assume that I'd attempt to align myself with Frosty's allies, too. I'd just like you to keep it in mind that no talks have been opened between Laurentus and Colbentielle so far. |

That's understandable. I couldn't expect to hide that. |

Okay, I see a few of those issues are still there. You'll at least need to make that old man appear to be the stupidest person alive. Perhaps a few teeth missing and so forth. And even then, he'd still need to at least raise an eyebrow at the thought that Fletcher is a citizen. And about the satellite. We will summarily shoot down any but the ones that are already up there. Perhaps you can simply install this new tech on an already existing one? We'd still get suspicious, but we won't do anything drastic. Oh, and I should point out that, although New Hatfield, Kuncache and Hatoria are part of the empire, they are their own kingdoms, with their own races, cultures, languages and traditions. I really need to get that map up. I'll work on that today. Note to all: avoid doing anything in the Laurentian empire until I have that map up. Africa is unlike any other place on Earth, so you'll all likely be hopelessly uninformed regarding its populations and so forth. |

Boy, Ramos is going to be pissed at Aragonn very soon... I very much expect Ramos to throw the Jarl under a train in the near future. |

After reading the OOC thread, I need to edit some things in the post I just made... Edit: I only fixed Laurentus's nation name. Edited by Aragonn, Dec 19 2014, 02:39 AM.

To be honest, I don't think Ramos can throw Aragonn under a train. He'd probably just shoot him with one of his new railrifles (assuming Miricano is making those in addition to their railguns). It'd be the easiest and most efficient way to kill him. |

I kinda imagine Ramos as having a flair for dramatic statements with these type of things. Like derailing an entire train after already having killed the majority leader. Points for flair. Not so much for logic or efficiency. Maximus or Laurentus would probably deliver a single shot and burn the body quite thoroughly. Agent Gamma might too. Not Ramos. No, that would be too ordinary for his tastes.
