Aura Hyperia was originally created from the merging of the regions Bloemfontein and A Second Try, and then arose from The United States of Europe. Its former residents have rebranded themselves as the Hyperion Order, and currently reside within New Hyperion.

The regional roleplay has now started! Talk to Lord Aragonn about joining!
What is New Hyperion?
New Hyperion (NH) is a region of NationStates. It is an empire built on the principles of Hyperionism, our guiding philosophy.

Great! How do I sign up?
Hold on there, buddy, you haven't even registered yet! You'll have to scroll up (or just click here) and take care of that first.

After that, take a look at those four forums at the top of the list. The Low Orbit Welcome Wagon is where you can apply for Plebeianship and introduce yourself. You can undergo Patricianship if you're interested in leadership. For everything else, go to Imperial Service.

What if I'm a diplomat?
Go to the Immigration Desk instead, and we'll get you masked.

What's the government situation look like?
Our region has three main levels of command: the Imperial Council, the Inquisition, and the Hyperion Senate.

The Imperial Council (IC) consists of the Autarch, Chancellor, Lord Inquisitor, High Lords, and military command. It assembles when sensitive or secret decisions need to be made. Its members otherwise act separately as department heads and administrators.

The Inquisition is the law enforcement of the region. Inquisitors ensure that all members are complying with any requirements currently set in place, and, along with the Lord of Development, also controls admission into the Patrician caste. The Judiciary, our courts system, also exists as part of the Inquisition.

The Hyperion Senate consists of all our Patricians, and is the primary body of law and policy. The Senate operates somewhere between a democracy and a mob, and doesn't necessarily need hard votes to get things done. While the IC is technically superior to the Senate, it is more common for the Councillors to participate as Senators. As such, the Hyperion Senate tends to be the most important part of the entire government.

Is that it?
Of course not, that would be dry and boring. Granted, the Hyperion Senate is about as boring as a discussion on abortion, but you probably don't want to deal with its squabbles and silliness 24/7. That's why we have the Imperial Service and the military.

The Imperial Service consists of the various departments, such as Foreign Affairs and Recruitment. All departments are volunteer-only, though enlistment and training in the Hyperian Guard is highly recommended for all members. In general, however, you will be encouraged to join under-staffed departments.

Oh yeah, didn't your recruitment telegram mention an RP?
Why yes it did! While we allow other RPs, of course, our main RP is the one that sets the standard of our theme and culture. It's kind of complex and involved, but once you get the ball rolling it's about as smooth sailing as any other RP.

What if I need help?
Pop us a question. Our patience is legendary. ;) You may also check the Great Library of Trantor for answers to some of the more common questions.

Okay, so there's a new RP. My first question is... how the fuck does this actually work?

Frosty, in case you want to speed things along... Secretary of State Muri Em'Lei would be the representative dispatched to speak with your representative. We're seeking a full treaty.
That could mean a few things, are you after non-aggression, a military alliance, or something related to economics and trade? You'd have to bring something to the table to make this worth breaking Frostmark's "splendid isolation". I already know what I want from Laurentus, as you'll see soon enough.

I'm fine to assume the negotiations have already happened as long as we can agree to them here. Frostmark is likely to eventually move anyway to stop Miricano from being a nuisance, so a binding treaty would need some kind of mutual benefit.
I can offer you location. Colbentielle makes a perfect forward operations base for striking at Miricano. It's also a great tourist destination. :P

In the long run, trade and a military alliance would be ideal. For Colbentielle, at least.
Seems like you'd be getting a pretty good deal out of this. Lucky you're situated where you are.

Surrender Caesus and the surrounding islands to permanent Markaic rule and you can have your treaty.
I can't give you most of Caesus, but I can give you those two islands off my eastern coast. We can stipulate that you will receive any land seized by Colbentielle from Miricano, if that helps. What else can I offer you?

If need be, or for the sake of time, this could be a purely military agreement, to last for as long as it takes to put down Miricano and its allies. Once that's in place, we can worry about the terms of a permanent agreement.

Miricano and its allies? Geez, that's a bit harsh. I haven't done anything to you yet.

Offering the Falkland Islands instead? I should take offense :P
When you say you can't, why is that exactly?

Lol. Does the Brit think he deserves the Falkland Islands. Didn't you guys go through arbitration and a short war with Argentina in the 70s or 80s for the Falklands?

And they have 100% internet access across the entire islands, so that's something too.

I don't plan to carve you up at all. I plan to stand by while Frosty and Laurentus do so. I'm just providing the door to the banquet.

"Put down," not "annihilate."

I'm afraid I'm not sure why you should take offense; they're prime real estate. :P As to why I can't cede Caesus to you, I don't want to displace the people living there. Also, 75% of my naval vessels were made at Caesus Shipyards, and I don't exactly have resources to build more shipyards of that size.

@Miri- I've decided that the main reason I hate Ramos is because he wants to use napalm. With FT. On the rain forest. Colbentiellians are very protective of their rain forest. If the napalm comes down, expect to have all of Colbentielle gearing for war and calling for Ramos' blood. To water the trees of their beloved rain forest.

I chose Napalm for that exact reason. Firestorms + rainstorms means not only the destruction of that part of the forest, it also means massive landslides. Too bad you won't have have anything to water after your entire country is on fire :/

Damage + More Damage= Good for Ramos. Not so much for Colbentielle. And good luck and godspeed to the people who are in the way of that napalm.

Well, I actually saw the political marriage coming. I'd just like to clarify who the Prince Imperial is, but Sarilla would most likely accept any such terms. She's smart enough to know that Falkenwalde holds all the cards in this negotiation, and he's being positively saint-like by allowing her to rule uncontestedly in the Laurentian Empire. I'd assume that her heirs would also then be the heirs to Frostmark? In other words, the Laurentian Empire would eventually become a part of Frostmark, and vice versa?

And don't worry about the rainforest, Colby, Laurentus has his own evil little plan to try and prevent that. Just survive in your next post. ;)

My ass you do. Mortars aren't something you shoot out of the sky. I will burn down the entirety of the rainforest. If I have to even get out flamethrowers, I will do it. I don't trust the Colbentiellian rainforest.

It reminds me of Vietnam when the soldiers trekked through the forest, just to get booby trapped to death. I feel the same thing will happen in Colbentielle.
