The regional roleplay has now started! Talk to Lord Aragonn about joining!
What is New Hyperion?
New Hyperion (NH) is a region of NationStates. It is an empire built on the principles of Hyperionism, our guiding philosophy.

Great! How do I sign up?
Hold on there, buddy, you haven't even registered yet! You'll have to scroll up (or just click here) and take care of that first.

After that, take a look at those four forums at the top of the list. The Low Orbit Welcome Wagon is where you can apply for Plebeianship and introduce yourself. You can undergo Patricianship if you're interested in leadership. For everything else, go to Imperial Service.

What if I'm a diplomat?
Go to the Immigration Desk instead, and we'll get you masked.

What's the government situation look like?
Our region has three main levels of command: the Imperial Council, the Inquisition, and the Hyperion Senate.

The Imperial Council (IC) consists of the Autarch, Chancellor, Lord Inquisitor, High Lords, and military command. It assembles when sensitive or secret decisions need to be made. Its members otherwise act separately as department heads and administrators.

The Inquisition is the law enforcement of the region. Inquisitors ensure that all members are complying with any requirements currently set in place, and, along with the Lord of Development, also controls admission into the Patrician caste. The Judiciary, our courts system, also exists as part of the Inquisition.

The Hyperion Senate consists of all our Patricians, and is the primary body of law and policy. The Senate operates somewhere between a democracy and a mob, and doesn't necessarily need hard votes to get things done. While the IC is technically superior to the Senate, it is more common for the Councillors to participate as Senators. As such, the Hyperion Senate tends to be the most important part of the entire government.

Is that it?
Of course not, that would be dry and boring. Granted, the Hyperion Senate is about as boring as a discussion on abortion, but you probably don't want to deal with its squabbles and silliness 24/7. That's why we have the Imperial Service and the military.

The Imperial Service consists of the various departments, such as Foreign Affairs and Recruitment. All departments are volunteer-only, though enlistment and training in the Hyperian Guard is highly recommended for all members. In general, however, you will be encouraged to join under-staffed departments.

Oh yeah, didn't your recruitment telegram mention an RP?
Why yes it did! While we allow other RPs, of course, our main RP is the one that sets the standard of our theme and culture. It's kind of complex and involved, but once you get the ball rolling it's about as smooth sailing as any other RP.

What if I need help?
Pop us a question. Our patience is legendary. ;) You may also check the Great Library of Trantor for answers to some of the more common questions.

Honestly, I really didn't remember (want to) do this today, but after being bugged for the 100th time by Ara to do this, I caved. Now since you guys wanted me do do this, I will be doing it in a way that embodies New Hyperion but as well, my favorite show on Earth, Game of Thrones.

Game of Hyperia
I will be producing a character list that embodies my thought of you in a way that also relates to Game of Thrones.

Note: For all those who don't have HBO or just don't care enough, Game of Thrones is a medieval show that combines politics, war, greed and a tiny bit of magic. The continent of Westeros is where most of the action takes place and the continent is separated into 7 "regions". Each of these regions are controlled by one of seven major houses who's family lines go back generations. Each region is headed by a capital city.
Houses usually align each other with other houses via marriage, war or other means in order to gain leverage in Westeros. The King of Westeros is the head of the people on the continent and his word is law. The King controls the Iron Throne, the chair he sits upon which happens to be made out of swords and is also the head of Kings Landing, the capital of Westeros and is the largest city.
There is another continent, but it is mute at this point. If you are interested in the show now (which I doubt any of you are) then PM me.

TL;DR: The continent is Westeros which is divided into seven regions and each headed by a separate house. The King, who sits on the Iron Throne in Kings Landing is the supreme ruler of Westeros and his word is law. You and your house want control of the Iron Throne and will do anything to get and keep it.

Character List
1) Zander is The King of Westeros
I envision you as: A genial man who shows kindness and fairness to all. You aren't quick to judge people, but when they show you their true character, you aren't quick to forget it either. In politics, you sit back and let the people talk before putting in your opinion, but when you speak, all listen. Outside of your regal boundaries, you don't mind downing a pint or two or more of whatever is on tap and you enjoy the the company and revelry of others, as long as they are paying.
Yes, you and your House are prosperous, and you will make sure no harm comes to you and your loved ones, as you are their patriarch and King. Your younger age doesn't provide a hindrance to you, but rather gives you more time to learn.

Item: The Iron Throne
City: King's Landing
House: Ermonte (Warden of the Capital and Keeper of the Red Keep)

2) Laurentus is The Hand of the King
Note: The Hand of the King is like the Vice President to the President
I envision you as: A fun, laid back man who knows when to kick off his shoes and put his feet in the sand. However, when it comes to your business, friendships dissipate and the task at hand becomes the number one focus. Helping others is an important part of your life, as that's what Hand of the King's job description is.
You have no troubles talking to others and stating your opinion, but know when to let others say what they need to say. However, most times people see it your way, but it's not your fault the gods blessed you with the gift of eloquence. Your ability to step up to the plate when the time and circumstances has made you a great leader and you will have no trouble at all when and if the situation arises for you to take the place a great leader, or even a King.

Item: A long black robe, adorned in gold thread and jewels
City: Luminera
House: Hyperia (Warden of the South and Keeper of the beautiful Green Gardens)

3) Colbentielle is The Master of Whispers
Note: The Master of Whispers is the equivalent to an intelligence agency in Game of Thrones
I envision you as: A man who knows a lot, but doesn't speak about them. You find great joy in knowing information that others either don't know or want to know. You use your smarts and information to laud over others or trade for things even more valuable.
You have a social personality to the max and you love to hang out with others. You find gossip as delicious as a fine cooked medium rare sirloin. However, you only spread gossip about your enemies, as you are fiercely loyal to your friends and family. Your thirst for information is only matched and surpassed by your thirst for you to succeed in life. You have great ambition and one day you will become a very successful man, and perhaps even use your connections to gain leverage in the real world.

Item: An intercepted letter with classified information
House: Primerius (Warden of the West and Keeper of the Great Western Workshops)
Capital: Valkryt City

4) Aragonn is The Captain of the Guard
I envision you as: A man who is calculated and always measures twice in order to only cut once. You take extra precaution to make sure all things are done in a timely and orderly fashion. Routine is your key and as Captain of the Guard, everything must be in tip top shape at all times, and anything less than 100% efficiency is not good enough, and 100% is barely OK. You demand of not only your troops, but yourself 200% or more on a daily basis and you push yourself every single day to do and be a better human being.
You are a peaceful gentlemen, with little qualms. However, may the gods protect the man who means harm to you, your family or friends, as they will never see the light of day again.Your battlefield tactic is a good as they come. Training at the best military schools on the continent has been worth it and you have more then shown your worth, keeping the peace in the city and around the continent.

Item: A great double bladed decorated steel longsword
House: Akaz (Warden of the East and Keeper of the Continental Military Academy)
Capital: Drekiheimr

5) Taulover is The Grand Maester
I envision you as: A man who does not take learning and any opportunity to learn not seriously and for granted. Every day is a new opportunity for you to learn something new, as Grand Maester, you've learned a few things. You understand how things work and how to make things. People come just to seek your consultation in academia but as well with their own problems, as your words are regarded as wise and powerful. You are not a proud nor boastful fellow, but appreciate the simpler things in your life and if there is one thing you can't live without it is someway to learn or gain knowledge.
Item: The Scientific Principles of the Human Anatomy
House: Cognus (Warden of the Iron Islands and Keeper of the Great Library)
Capital: Vivaldi

6) Alexander is The Master of Coin
Note: The Master of Coin is the head of the Treasury, as you would guess
What I envision for you: Clink Clink Clink, the sound the gold coins make they fall into your hand after another successful business transaction. Alexander, are one of the most influential people all around. You are a powerful man, in fact one of the most powerful there is. When you speak, all must listen to you, lest they want to know the true might of your power. You have little patience for tomfoolery and impertinence and you will have none of it in your presence. However, your life is not all work and no fun. When the time calls for it, you have no trouble kicking off your shoes and cracking open up a cold one.
You are a man of your word, and if it is one thing a man must always have is his word. You don't make promises you don't keep and whoever is on the receiving end of a threat from Alexander best pray that the gods take him/her before you can get your hands on them. You command respect and not only your words, but your silence speaks volumes.

Item: A great trading ship
House: Capita (Warden of the North and Keeper of the Golden Lighthouse)
Capital: Neupreußen

Ok. That's the end of it. Took a bit of time for choosing what occupation you each received by thinking of your position in government, my personal experiences with you and what your nation is like. Everything is said, I think is true for all of you, as you all are wonderful people. If you weren't, I wouldn't have spent my time on you. ;)

P.S.: Please, if you don't like the things I've said, just tell me. That last thing I'd want is for anyone to be upset.

Thanks for reading :)

Mine is pretty accurate, I think.

Now if you'll allow me, I'd like to do yours in A Song of Ice and Fire terms: Wyman Manderly.

I have to be specific with a character here, as Wyman doesn't have a seat on the King's Council. If you've read the books, you might see why I chose to compare you to him.

At first, one doesn't think much of him, as he doesn't show off his intelligence, and people easily underestimate him, but it becomes apparent that he understands people intuitively, as you seem to do, Miri. He also teaches the entire Bolton family a few lessons near the end, and reveals himself to be quite an important person because of his ability to read people and accomplish his goals in a fashion that isn't always obvious. He's also fiercely loyal to House Stark, and thus it makes it all the more impressive that he is able to play these types of political games with the Boltons without arousing suspicion.

I see you in much the same light, and your loyalty to New Hyperion can easily be compared to his loyalty to the Starks.

I think I should perhaps just put up a disclaimer here. The views and opinions expressed herein reflect only the individual writer's, and not necessarily those of New Hyperion or any other member of New Hyperion. ;)

I should also note that I'm not quite as good at understanding people and describing them as you are, and that comparing you to something/someone in Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire will inevitably lead to small inaccuracies and a very general, clichéd description of each individual. :P

EDIT 2: I'm also curious about how you perceived me before you heard I like DBZ, and how your perception changed after that.

Thank you fro your kind words. To be honest, I thought you were a nonsensical type of guy and that was my way of thought about you, and nothing was going to change that. But then I learned you liked DBZ. I gave you more thought and and I opened myself to learning that you are actually pretty funny and you are relaxed. You just know when it comes down to business, you focus on the task at hand.

Honestly, I went to each of your nation pages and picked out something that stood out to me that defined you. Then add a little English --> Latin translator into the mix and you have your names.

Except mine. He asked me through Skype what I wanted my house name to be. I picked out something old and Germanic.
