This is a Vampire spin-off from "The Vampire Diaries" based in New Orleans. There are Vampires called "The Originals" - they are vampires that can never be killed or die. They can only be put to "rest" by these special type daggers. Who Klaus (the protagnist) in this show/story are in possession of. There are 7 central characters:

Klaus Michaelson (Original Vampire and is related to Elijah and Rebekah) Klaus is a misunderstood character. He is potentially flawed, complex, layered but deep down as the episodes progressed the writers/tptb showed us he feels, loves and wants and craves unconditional love just like everyone else. All be it, he kills and is at times seems to be a "cold blooded killer" this is the essense of who Klaus is. He loves his family above all else, he seems to be incredibly jealous of what his siblings have as far as potential life partners (love), he forever seeks their approval and is destined to go thru life with them and only them. It would be great to see if this "selfish bond" could be broken. It seems that Elijah is trying to redeem his brother thru the birth of his child by teaching him about "unconditional love". Although, I fear in the process, Elijah has fallen victim to "unconditional love" by falling in love with Hayley, the baby's mother. We are seeing a very complex story written out and at the same time with all the speed bumps, it's leaves us wanting more. The writers and tptb are very talented and skilled at this process. :cheer: They are building up different layers to Klaus' redemption for his child for himself for his family very delicately. I am looking forward to next week's episode.

Elijah Michaelson (Original Vampire) - Elijah is a character that was built on intergrity, honor and drop dead gorgeousness. What can be said. Calgon take me away. :cloud9: He promised, his word that no harm would come to Hayley or her baby and he lived up to it and then some! He took out the head witch Angus, who wanted to kill Hayley and her baby. He snapped the bitches head straight off! "Nobody messes with my family!" were his exact words. Elijah Michaelson, you are my bodyguard! :cloud9: He protected Hayley when she was running in the woods from that crazy, blood thristy, vengeful Tyler (Who was after Klaus technically but went after Hayley? Well The tag team of Elijah/Klaus taught him a lesson that day!) He protected her from so many different situations, the wolves in the bayou, the vampires that wanted to kill her because of Marcel. EJijah is Hayley's man thru and thru. I love the way they are building this couple up. How many almost kisses?

Rebekah Michaelson (Original Vampire) - Ah my dear Rebekah who is so misunderstood by her brother Klaus. Or maybe not? He just doesn't want her to be happy because he isn't happy. Rebekah was in love with Marcel who was human before coming a vampire. BUT, he was in love with Rebekah for a lontime before that. They danced around there feeling for many years. That was until Marcel grew up. He then started to want to act on those feelings, Rebekah wanted him too also. Elijah was happy for them. (Elijah was not like Klaus in that way, don't ask me why maybe because he had loved?) Anyway, Klaus found out about them and made Marcel decide do you want to kill her or become a vampire? Marcel choose the later. He became a vampire. He broke Rebekah's heart. Klaus staked her and put her to sleep I believe for over 50 years. They don't age they don't die "Originals" they just go to sleep when you stake them. She awoke she Marcel, he walked away. Klaus told her he had to teach her a lesson and that she had been asleep for 50 or 60 something years... FF present day, Marcel and Klaus are aligned "tick as thieves again" only this time, Marcel is the "King of New Orleans", we are yet to finf out why the Michaelson fled New Orleans 100 years ago...

Marcel - was a child when taken in by Klaus, he was a slave for a family on an estate close by to theirs, I believe. When Klaus saw Marcel getting beat by the person who was his "owner" (such a degrding term) he interfered, I believe he killed the man; rescued Marcellus (Which meant "Warrior" I believe something like that) because it reminded him of the beating he used to get from there father. Klaus was a "freak of nature" to their father and never accepted by the family (well the father). SO, he endured terrible beating beyond what anyone could compare. He related to Marcellus. He took him in as his own son. A bond was formed. He became part of the family.

Hayley -is a werewolf like Klaus but not a hybrid. Hayley is half human, half werewolf, whereas, Klaus is half vampire, half werewolf. They had a one-night stand which resulted in Hayley becoming pregnant with his child. That is pretty much it between those two, there was no relationship, no feelings, nothing between them, just this baby. Whereas, when Hayley came back to town and met Klaus' brother Elijah. The fireworks began! You could feel the sparks, it was kismet. It was like two old souls that were meant too be together. The scenes between them ever since, have been intense, it reminds me of EJami in a way. They have this "intense chemistry", this "presence", this "force", this "push and pull" between them that cannot be ignored. I will post some montages and clips when I'm done explaining the characters.

Cami - (Cami is Father Kiernan niece and the sister of the guy who was killed in New Orleans. She was compelled by Klaus in order to protect her from knowing too much about what was really going on in New Orleans with the vampires and werewolves. Who are btw, the 2 warring factions.) The ending of the last episode, Cami starts to remember everything! All the memories that Klaus had compelled her to forget started coming back and she was screaming in pain in the church. This is NOT GOOD YAWL!

Davina (Is a powerful young teenage witch being held captive by Marcel until recently, when Elijah promised her protection, freedom and to ability to learn more "powerful spells" from his own mother's grimoire book of spells. Up until this point she was on the vampires side (well she deflected from Marcel's side to Elijah's/Klaus' side because of Elijah and his "honor". As of the last episode we really don't know what happened to her but we think she is with Cami. (NOT GOOD!)

Father Kiernan (He hides the vampires secret in town and Cami is his niece. It is to be believed his nephew went "mad" and killed himself. Klaus is investigating this story and Marcel might have more to do with it then he is letting on.) He is apart of a powerful human counsel in town that controls what goes on.

Sophie Deveraux (Witch) she started the "Witches Harvest" which brought problems for the witches to be expelled from New Orleans to pratice magic. She was working in tandem with Marcel and also sleeping with him. They were what you call "magical powerful friends with benefits" She is still alive and looking to seek revenge and kill Davina to resurrect her dead sister who was a witch. (Who died by the hands of Marcel and the vampires.)

Are The Crescent Wolves Making a Come Back?
The Originals News
Mar 23, 2014

Marcel knows that there is something else going on with Klaus behind Elijah’s back! In the next episode we see its definatly not the “The Big Easy” and everything is uneasy for factions to get along. Klaus wants peace for his child and so does Elijah but, they just see the way to get it is through other means. Marcel thinks he has been the one planning for this while everyone else fights for peace which is a mistake on his part. The Werewolves had over 100 years to think about what they done. Will this treaty make peace or make the factions worse.

Julie Plec spoke about how the wolves are taking over and it would be a couple episodes but, they would eventually. Between Celeste and Klaus they have already set that into play. We just wait and see if there is another time gap! In the next episode we see all they factions, The Witches, The Vampires and The Wolves using their power and not playing well with each other. Everyone that got it would have to ask for Klaus’ blood to be healed. Does Jackson know that? Jackson made it very Clear on what he thinks about hybrids. Will this mean that Hayley’s baby is at danger because, Jackson disgust hybrids so much? More importantly Klaus knows what is going on with the wolves, and he left out a few details so he could infact be their Alpha when the time came. He has his family of wolves in New Orleans. Will the two packs come together as one or will they fight for pack hierarchy? Any thoughts? Where do you think Hayley’s baby is safest?

Hayley Will Have the Baby this Season on The Originals!

Klaus and Hayley’s baby truly is a miracle child and hopefully redeem any humanity left inside Klaus. Here is some spoilers from an interview with Ms. Plec. Plec reveals that the Original family is going to be fighting an uphill battle for pretty much the rest of the season. “I would say the second half of the season is the consequences of having, forgive my language, f***ed with the harvest in the first place,” Plec says with a laugh. “The revenge as enacted by these witches, the disintegration of the Original family as a result and the rebuilding of both the family and the city in the fallout once the domino effect of the witches’ actions settle and the dust settles from that.”

And let’s not forget what kicked off the series in the first place. “And of course, there’s a baby coming,” Plec says. “Yeah, [the birth will happen this season].”

Can you say Uncle Elijah and Aunt Rebekah? Klaus and Hayley will have a little in fact have the baby this season! It has been confirmed by Ms. Julie Plec that the little hybrid (part Witch, Human, Vampire,& Werewolf ) The baby is going to be a true hybrid by birth and the first hybrid of her kind. This will bring all kinds of trouble for Elijah and Klaus. Rebekah said that there would be an endless list of people willing to hurt that precious bundle of joy to be to seek revenge on the original family! Not to mention this little girl(maybe a boy) will have two different clans of werewolf in her blood and she will be the second Crescent moon wolf other than Hayley making Hayley’s Royal line extend other than just to herself. The Crescent wolves date back all the way to the original set of werewolves. Two Packs of Crescent wolves one is Hayley’s the other is Jackson’s family which is still thriving! Hayley’s was almost extinct, until this special baby! Celeste said it was a girl but, it still could be a boy we never know!

Most Likely the baby will come at the season finale! Which will be May 13th! Only five episodes till The Originals ends!

How Will The Wolves Be Okay with a Hybrid Baby?

The Originals News March 23, 2014

What was the deal that Klaus made with Jackson? Was it to give the werewolves the French Quarter back to them and mess up the peace treaty to give them full power? Or was that just Jackson’s Idea about how to use the ring and Klaus knowing that will be Jackson’s intentions so allowing it if Jackson promises to take care of Klaus and Hayley’s unborn baby. How will Jackson and Hayley be after the baby arrives?

We already know that Jackson thinks Hybrids are unnatural blood sucking parasites. Jackson openingly admitted to Hayley when they first met in “” that He didn’t care about the baby he cared more about her. He quickly apologized to Hayley about the the baby comment but, she didn’t like that.

Will Jackson treat Hayley’s baby with respect and love because, Hayley loves her daughter or will she be the next target for the wolves because she is a hybrid and Klaus’ child?

Also what does that moon ring do? Will we find more information about Klaus’ people in the upcoming episode. Will the ring only protect the person who is wearing it or will it protect the entire pack? Will Elijah protect Hayley and the baby from the crescent pack of wolves if need be?

I think I am behind on this show. Interesting Kol will come back in flashbacks. I guess they must have worked out a deal.

I am hopeful for Claire to come back now.

Since Kol is the lead actor on "Supernatural: Bloodlines" they are lucky they were able to work something out. I'm curious also how they intend to work him back into the show, as "flashbacks" as well. He was killed when there mother worked that spell back on "TVD" or was he the one who died by the oak dagger? I can't quite remember?

I seriously hope they are able to get Claire Holt back some way and these articles seem really encouraging. *fingers crossed* It was great that she showed up at the Paley Fest with the cast. I have the clips if you want to see them. I can pm them to you.

Finn was the one who took part in trying to break the curse with Ester? (That the "Original Family" and all the vampires tied to them could live forever? Is that what I am remembering from that episode? Wasn't he involved with someone though, a woman?)

I remember who Kol is now.

Thanks! :grouphug1:

Hey Julian,

I meant to say that Finn wanted to help Ester break the curse, so that "The Original Family" (ex: her children Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and himself) and all the vampires linked to them (created by them, would cease to exist ever again. By doing this spell that Ester wanted to perform. Finn was helping her, right?)

I re-read my post and it didn't sound right.

Spoilers: Revenge, a funeral, and baby news on The Originals!
Written by Cecelia Lawshe // April 6, 2014

We’re getting close to the season 1 finale for The Originals on May 13th, but before then we’ll have more revenge, broken promises, a funeral, and finally the birth of Klaus‘ and Hayley’s baby!

There are a number of spoilers, including more deaths on the season finales of both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. I guess you can’t have vampires, werewolves, and witches without major deaths! But we’ll also have the hopefully blessed event of the birth of Klaus‘ and Hayley’s baby! Let’s hope she won’t be cursed by the witches with pricking her finger on her 16th birthday to fall into a deep sleep.

Witches and Revenge

We’ve seen Klaus getting all comfy cozy with Genevieve, played by Elyse Levesque, and she seems pretty smug about having him as her boyfriend! After all, alliances can be fun! But that doesn’t mean it will end well.

The Feast of the Blessing is coming up in “The Big Uneasy” on April 15th, during which Klaus will give Davina a special present, which may have something to do with his family. Will it be a piece of missing family history that he sends a werewolf of his own line to find?

A spoiler indicates that Davina still seeks revenge on Klaus for Tim’s death, but will this present be a peace offering that will change her mind? According to the spoiler, it may not.

Danielle Campbell on Davina’s revenge

She’s furious at him for what he did. And she’s never going to forgive him, I don’t think. She hasn’t [seen him], so the opportunity hasn’t arisen.

Whatever Davina may be planning, Klaus’ relationship with witchy Genevieve may not help him. According to Joseph Morgan, they are two damaged people whose relationship is doomed from the start. Additionally, from the PaleyFest promo, it looks like Genevieve may not survive to see the season finale. Perhaps her death will be the unblinking death in episode 1×19!

Joseph Morgan on Klaus and Genevieve

They’re two extremely damaged people who share a sense of self-loathing and they take it out on each other – sometimes physically, sometimes aggressively. Ultimately, a relationship like that can be fun, but it’s doomed, I would say, from the start.

No More Brotherly Love?

In the aftermath of “Farewell to Storyville,” the strained relationship between Elijah and Klaus may be at the final breaking point.

Elijah learns Klaus has been scheming behind his back with his new-found werewolf clan and he’s about had it trying to redeem his baby brother. But from Klaus’ viewpoint, he feels more allegiance to his werewolf family than the Mikaelson one, the result of which appears to be that he’s the first to break the treaty between the various factions that Elijah worked so hard to put into place when Klaus decided to paint his days away.

Julie Plec on the final death of “always and forever”?

The next episode [shows] the aftermath of a night when peace has been broken and Elijah realizes Klaus has been up to something behind his back. They have it out with each other.

In spite of the friction they had with each other over Rebekah, she seemed to be the glue that held them all together. With her being banished by brother Klaus, the glue is gone.

Julie Plec and Rebekah

We’ll get the postcards from Kansas, and we’ll for sure see her again, God willing. I don’t think it’s the last we’ve seen of Rebekah. It was just time for her to say goodbye and drive off into the proverbial sunset. The absence of this sister from this family dynamic is going to make the brother dynamic even more fraught.

Perhaps when she comes back they’ll not only be able to mend the relationship with her, but also with each other. I’m hoping she’ll come back for the birth, or at least when season two begins!

Death and Funeral(s)

What’s a show about vampires, werewolves, and witches without death? Definitely not The Vampire Diaries or The Originals! With the season finales of both shows coming up on May 13th and May 15th, Julie Plec has promised an impressive body count on both.

Julie Plec’s impending body count

I think that there will be an impressive body count on both shows by the time the seasons are over.

According to spoilers, some of these may not be casual deaths, but a big deal. Genevieve may bite the dust, if the other witches have their way. Perhaps this is the only way the fourth Harvest Girl can be brought back. Father Kieran is still hexed, and casting calls have gone out for clergy, mourners, and musicians to be an Irish band at a funeral. Marcel will be showing his face to Klaus again, but surely he won’t be in danger. But then again, who knows?

Any other guesses who might be making their final appearanace on The Originals by the end of the season one finale?

Baby News!

Project Casting put out a casting call for newborns or babies that can pass for newborns for a shoot between April 10th and April 25th, so the birth will be filmed this month. An April baby! Perhaps an Aries! Single, twins, triplets or more, paying $300 if used for the “birthing” scene!

We already know it will be a girl, but will the birth be toward the beginning, middle, or end of the finale? I’m betting the end. Hayley has been protected from turning during the pregnancy, so will she turn right after the birth, or will the protection last awhile longer?

Will we see Klaus hold his child for the first time, or will something happen to prevent it? Only 5-1/2 weeks to go before we find out! Are you exicted, fangsters?

Press release synopsis for 1×19 “An Unblinking Death”!
Written by Cecelia Lawshe // April 6, 2014

The press release for The Originals nineteenth episode “An Unblinking Death” is the fourth episode before the season 1 finale, and is very ominous. Maybe it’s just me, but an unblinking death seems to indicate the death of somebody that nobody will think twice about. A death that’s expected. Or maybe a death that nobody would feel sorry about!

Ever since being hexed, things haven’t gone too well for Father Kieran, played by Todd Stashwick. Klaus’ blood seemed like an unconventional treatment, but he still seems to be going mad. A casting call went out for clergy and mourners for a funeral, and musicians to be an Irish band at a funeral. Father Kieran also mentioned to Cami that O’Connells have been involved with keeping the peace for decades in the French Quarter. Could this be the writers foreshadowing his death?

When Julie Plec was asked about Father Kieran’s future, she was her usual cryptic self.

Julie on the good Father’s future

It’s definitely not going to be an easy thing to overcome, you know, hexes and dark objects and all that witchy business – sometimes you wonder what’s reversible and what isn’t, so we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

The title could also refer to the horrific explosion in the bayou. Very seldom do you have an explosion without deaths. Although Hayley, Jackson, and Elijah would be upset at werewolf deaths, the witches and vampires might not blink twice, let alone once.

According to the producers, there will be multiple deaths on both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries finales, so the body count will continue climbing.

“An Unblinking Death” press release synopsis

THE BREAKING POINT – Desperate to help Kieran (guest star Todd Stashwick), Cami (Leah Pipes) insists on an unconventional treatment, but her good intentions lead Kieran to a violent episode. After Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) disagree over the best way to handle the Crescent Wolves, Elijah makes a trip to the bayou, where he is witness to a horrific explosion that only adds to the hatred and mistrust among the communities. While Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) and Elijah work to save the wounded, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) learns a surprising piece of her family history from Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

This episode was written by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, and directed by Kellie Cyrus.

The Originals “An Unblinking Death” airs Tuesday, April 22nd, at 8/7c, on The CW!
