This is a Vampire spin-off from "The Vampire Diaries" based in New Orleans. There are Vampires called "The Originals" - they are vampires that can never be killed or die. They can only be put to "rest" by these special type daggers. Who Klaus (the protagnist) in this show/story are in possession of. There are 7 central characters:

Klaus Michaelson (Original Vampire and is related to Elijah and Rebekah) Klaus is a misunderstood character. He is potentially flawed, complex, layered but deep down as the episodes progressed the writers/tptb showed us he feels, loves and wants and craves unconditional love just like everyone else. All be it, he kills and is at times seems to be a "cold blooded killer" this is the essense of who Klaus is. He loves his family above all else, he seems to be incredibly jealous of what his siblings have as far as potential life partners (love), he forever seeks their approval and is destined to go thru life with them and only them. It would be great to see if this "selfish bond" could be broken. It seems that Elijah is trying to redeem his brother thru the birth of his child by teaching him about "unconditional love". Although, I fear in the process, Elijah has fallen victim to "unconditional love" by falling in love with Hayley, the baby's mother. We are seeing a very complex story written out and at the same time with all the speed bumps, it's leaves us wanting more. The writers and tptb are very talented and skilled at this process. :cheer: They are building up different layers to Klaus' redemption for his child for himself for his family very delicately. I am looking forward to next week's episode.

Elijah Michaelson (Original Vampire) - Elijah is a character that was built on intergrity, honor and drop dead gorgeousness. What can be said. Calgon take me away. :cloud9: He promised, his word that no harm would come to Hayley or her baby and he lived up to it and then some! He took out the head witch Angus, who wanted to kill Hayley and her baby. He snapped the bitches head straight off! "Nobody messes with my family!" were his exact words. Elijah Michaelson, you are my bodyguard! :cloud9: He protected Hayley when she was running in the woods from that crazy, blood thristy, vengeful Tyler (Who was after Klaus technically but went after Hayley? Well The tag team of Elijah/Klaus taught him a lesson that day!) He protected her from so many different situations, the wolves in the bayou, the vampires that wanted to kill her because of Marcel. EJijah is Hayley's man thru and thru. I love the way they are building this couple up. How many almost kisses?

Rebekah Michaelson (Original Vampire) - Ah my dear Rebekah who is so misunderstood by her brother Klaus. Or maybe not? He just doesn't want her to be happy because he isn't happy. Rebekah was in love with Marcel who was human before coming a vampire. BUT, he was in love with Rebekah for a lontime before that. They danced around there feeling for many years. That was until Marcel grew up. He then started to want to act on those feelings, Rebekah wanted him too also. Elijah was happy for them. (Elijah was not like Klaus in that way, don't ask me why maybe because he had loved?) Anyway, Klaus found out about them and made Marcel decide do you want to kill her or become a vampire? Marcel choose the later. He became a vampire. He broke Rebekah's heart. Klaus staked her and put her to sleep I believe for over 50 years. They don't age they don't die "Originals" they just go to sleep when you stake them. She awoke she Marcel, he walked away. Klaus told her he had to teach her a lesson and that she had been asleep for 50 or 60 something years... FF present day, Marcel and Klaus are aligned "tick as thieves again" only this time, Marcel is the "King of New Orleans", we are yet to finf out why the Michaelson fled New Orleans 100 years ago...

Marcel - was a child when taken in by Klaus, he was a slave for a family on an estate close by to theirs, I believe. When Klaus saw Marcel getting beat by the person who was his "owner" (such a degrding term) he interfered, I believe he killed the man; rescued Marcellus (Which meant "Warrior" I believe something like that) because it reminded him of the beating he used to get from there father. Klaus was a "freak of nature" to their father and never accepted by the family (well the father). SO, he endured terrible beating beyond what anyone could compare. He related to Marcellus. He took him in as his own son. A bond was formed. He became part of the family.

Hayley -is a werewolf like Klaus but not a hybrid. Hayley is half human, half werewolf, whereas, Klaus is half vampire, half werewolf. They had a one-night stand which resulted in Hayley becoming pregnant with his child. That is pretty much it between those two, there was no relationship, no feelings, nothing between them, just this baby. Whereas, when Hayley came back to town and met Klaus' brother Elijah. The fireworks began! You could feel the sparks, it was kismet. It was like two old souls that were meant too be together. The scenes between them ever since, have been intense, it reminds me of EJami in a way. They have this "intense chemistry", this "presence", this "force", this "push and pull" between them that cannot be ignored. I will post some montages and clips when I'm done explaining the characters.

Cami - (Cami is Father Kiernan niece and the sister of the guy who was killed in New Orleans. She was compelled by Klaus in order to protect her from knowing too much about what was really going on in New Orleans with the vampires and werewolves. Who are btw, the 2 warring factions.) The ending of the last episode, Cami starts to remember everything! All the memories that Klaus had compelled her to forget started coming back and she was screaming in pain in the church. This is NOT GOOD YAWL!

Davina (Is a powerful young teenage witch being held captive by Marcel until recently, when Elijah promised her protection, freedom and to ability to learn more "powerful spells" from his own mother's grimoire book of spells. Up until this point she was on the vampires side (well she deflected from Marcel's side to Elijah's/Klaus' side because of Elijah and his "honor". As of the last episode we really don't know what happened to her but we think she is with Cami. (NOT GOOD!)

Father Kiernan (He hides the vampires secret in town and Cami is his niece. It is to be believed his nephew went "mad" and killed himself. Klaus is investigating this story and Marcel might have more to do with it then he is letting on.) He is apart of a powerful human counsel in town that controls what goes on.

Sophie Deveraux (Witch) she started the "Witches Harvest" which brought problems for the witches to be expelled from New Orleans to pratice magic. She was working in tandem with Marcel and also sleeping with him. They were what you call "magical powerful friends with benefits" She is still alive and looking to seek revenge and kill Davina to resurrect her dead sister who was a witch. (Who died by the hands of Marcel and the vampires.)

'The Originals': Leah Pipes talks Cami's (sort of) love triangle, more fire stunts, and 'our darkest episode yet'

By Samantha Highfillon Apr 22, 2014 at 10:30AM @samhighfill

Being a human in New Orleans isn’t something most people would see as a problem. But in the world of The Originals, it’s a major disadvantage, especially if your uncle has a hex that’s literally driving him mad and you’ve got some sort of weird almost love triangle happening with a vampire and a hybrid. Welcome to Cami’s world.

Last week, we watched Cami beg for Genevieve to help Kieran only to have Klaus ruin it all. And let’s not forget that bit where Klaus found out about Cami and Marcel’s night together. So where do we go from here? Is this thing with Marcel and Klaus a real love triangle? Is there hope for Kieran?

We caught up with Leah Pipes to talk about all of those things, as well as a few O’Connell family secrets, her favorite scene that never aired, and more. Here’s what we learned:

Klaus, Cami, and Marcel are forming a love triangle (of sorts): “I think love triangle is just too simple. It’s a simple little triangle, it makes sense. But this is a complicated, like, swirly line. Where is it going? What does it mean? Is it romantic? Probably not. But why am I feeling this way? Jealousy! Anger! It’s like when your really close guy friend gets a girlfriend and you’re happy for him, but for some reason, you’re jealous of her and you don’t really know why. It’s a complicated thing. And I think Cami got a little feisty with Genevieve when she figured that out too, so it’s a really complex relationship. And I think her relationship with Marcel is very complex too because they hooked up but she said this is never happening again and that obviously makes things complicated.”

Cami and Marcel aren’t necessarily done: “I don’t know. You know what? I hope she has the self control that I don’t have, because if she could say, ‘This can never happen again,’ that’s a mature, smart decision, Cami. I hope you mean it. But we’ll see if that actually follows through.”

The O’Connell family might have a few secrets of its own: “The O’Connells have been in New Orleans a long time. That has been revealed, so I think there’s a lot of history with the O’Connells and these supernatural people, and so maybe there are family secrets, but I’m going to keep that a secret from you.” [Laughs]

Cami doesn’t actually have a black belt: “Poor thing. She’s walking around being so snarky to all these supernatural creatures with nothing. She has nothing! In the pilot she says, ‘I have a black belt in karate.’ That was a bluff, we’ve decided. She actually does not have a black belt in karate. She has no way to defend herself. I’m pretty sure she’s pro gun control too. She doesn’t even have guns.” [Laughs]

There are more fire stunts coming, and they’re kind of a big deal: “I can tell you this: When I read [tonight's] episode, I was confused because I don’t know when we got a Michael Bay movie budget, but apparently we have one now. I have no idea how we made these episodes with a television budget. It’s like watching a huge-budget movie and every episode has something. It made for very long days of shooting, but I think it’s going to be completely worth it. We have a lot of cool fire stunts. And I think you might see more of them!”

Her favorite scene never aired: “I really enjoyed the last scene that Cami was in this last episode. That, I think, was one of my favorite scenes of the season. My other favorite scene of the season never made it to the episode. It was between Cami and Elijah, and we were talking about our brothers. And so I hope that ends up on the DVD somewhere because I actually think that might be my favorite scene of the season, but it never aired.”

Cami’s not ready to give up on Kieran, but that only means things are getting darker: “It’s looking bad [for Kieran] but she has definitely not given up hope. At no point do you see Cami wallowing in self pity, which I really appreciate about her. She is not the victim. So much has happened to her, [but] she refuses to see herself as a victim. She will fight and fight and fight. And she’s not done fighting. She is willing to do anything [to help Kieran]. Nothing’s too far, so it gets pretty intense, and I would not watch this episode with your five year old. It actually might be our darkest episode of the season.”

Other things we learned: We will get a conclusion to the hex storyline this season, and viewers can expect to find out exactly why the witches want to kill Hayley’s baby soon. And as far as Klaus and Marcel are concerned, expect a showdown. As Pipes put it, “I don’t think Klaus makes threats lightly.”

The Originals airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Supernatural is like the cockroach of The CW — in a totally good way! No matter what happens on the network’s schedule, the nine-year-old Supernatural tends to perform pretty well, it’s a total survivor. On Tuesday night, Supernatural was up 29 percent from last week’s lower-than-usual performance. While The Originals slipped 14 percent to a new all-time low. (And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the first trailer for Supernatural‘s Bloodlines spin-off).

Yikes! That's not good.

SPOILERISH FOR SEASON FINALE. PLEASE DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING SPOILED.

THE ORIGINALS

PRE-FINALE EPISODES | In the coming weeks, Cami must face the "terrible repercussions" of Kieran's death, though she'll barely have time to mourn her uncle before "a new player seeks to fill the gap left in the wake of the priest's death," teases executive producer Michael Narducci. Meanwhile, Elijah will step in to help Hayley fight her enemies, but Narducci warns that his actions could end up tearing them further apart. As for the hybrid bun in Hayley's oven, "the witches' plan for the baby -- and the lengths that the Mikaelson clan will go to in order to protect it -- will be a major focus as we move to the end of our season."

MAY 13 SEASON FINALE | Narducci says the finale brings about "shocking alliances" and "deadly betrayals" that will dramatically tip the balance of power in the Big Easy. "Some characters will die, others will be changed forever, and by the end of the season, we will see a huge twist -- a new alliance that we've been building toward for some time that will help define what the series will be as we move into Season 2."

Spoiler and press release for The Originals “From a Cradle to a Grave”!
Written by Riley Blueberry // April 26, 2014

Spoiler and press release synopsis for The Originals season finale “From a Cradle to a Grave”!
The press release for The Originals season finale of “From a Cradle to a Grave” sounds ominous for Hayley and the baby. In preparation for the birth, and to keep her baby safe, Hayley is in hiding.

Between next week’s episode of “A Closer Walk with Thee” and the finale, spoilers reveal that Cami will have to deal with “terrible repercussions” from her Uncle Kieran’s death. According to Michael Narducci, executive producer, her mourning will be cut short when “a new player seeks to fill the gap left in the wake of the priest’s death.”

In an effort to help Hayley deal with her enemies, Elijah’s good intentions and actions will tear them further apart. But both Elijah and Klaus are extremely protective of Hayley and the baby, each in their own way, as the witches have their own plan.

Michael Narducci’s dire warning about the season one finale

Some characters will die, others will be changed forever, and by the end of the season, we will see a huge twist — a new alliance that we’ve been building toward for some time that will help define what the series will be as we move into Season 2.

So will the new alliance involve witchy Genevieve, or will she be one of the casualties? Will Marcel and Klaus enter a new alliance with Elijah, Cami, and Davina? Leah Pipes indicated that she’ll be making a decision about whether she’ll be will Klaus or Marcel. Which one do you think she’ll choose? Will the heartbreaking decision Klaus makes have anything to do with the baby?

Wow! :wtf: Do you think Hayley and the baby will die???   :wow: That would be major!!! You think she could come back as a hybrid, maybe... This makes me so nervous.

Both Klaus and Elijah would be heartbroken for different reasons. Klaus would loose his child and Elijah would loose Hayley. :tears:

I've been meaning to post my thoughts on the episode but I've been caught up on twitter. Plus my "Supernatural//Bloodlines" disappointment. SO, I am going to work on those thoughts this evening. In the meantime:

"The Originals" 1x20 "A Closer Walk with Thee"

Personally, I really enjoyed this episode for many different reasons. They addressed several of the “issues” many of the main characters were experiencing and/or dealing with amongst each other. Whether it was Klaus and Marcel, Klaus and Mikael, Klaus and Hayley, Hayley and Mikael, Elijah and Hayley, you felt the story was quickening to a certain pace or crescendo. Very well executed by the writers and cast.

Its starts off at Father Kieran’s wake. Where the mourners have come in droves to pay there respects. Klaus, Marcel, Elijah, Hayley, even the human faction. Francesca, seriously, she is going to cause more trouble for everyone, I just feel it. We find out that both Klaus and Elijah are being haunted by there dead father in there dreams, this is not good!!!! Someone puts a call into to Bonnie in Mystic Falls, Klaus reports that the veil between life and death is being torn down. (Very interesting juxtaposition how they tied in Mystic Falls and New Orleans into this episode, I might add.)

Cami finds out that her newly deceased uncle owned a key (which Marcel stole from him before he died -- Didn't he have Josh and Thierry take it from Father Kieran’s dead body?) that could open a Pandora’s box that could impact the supernatural in very bad ways. (She finds this information out from Marcel, btw, which is now in possession of this key? Why is he asking her so many questions?) Hayley's convinced that Francesca is behind the attack on the bayou. (It does kind of make one very suspicious, then again she could be working hand and hand with Marcel?) But while she asks Cami’s for help Hayley collapses in the street and is transported to the dream world where she comes face to face with Michael, her baby's grandfather. (NOT GOOD!) While all this is going on, the witches in an attempt to get close to Klaus and the baby so they can eventually kill the baby. The witches work some magic to rescue Hayley while Mikael tries to kill her in the dream world. (I loved the part when Elijah breaks the table against the wall in a rage. When he and Klaus says: "I will not loose that baby." Elijah: "I will not loose either of them." :cloud9: :cheer:

Hayley is still battling Mikael, She stabs him then comes back to the living thanks to Genevieve. She tells them about Mikael. Hayley recovers in her bedroom, Klaus comes to check on her. Hayley tells Klaus she’s coming back but she doesn't want to be ordered. Hayley asks what about her? What about after the baby?

Klaus has her come with him and he has a beautiful nursery ready for the baby that is connected to Hayley’s room. He wants them to co-parent. Klaus asks about his father, he wants to know what he said, Hayley tells him nothing true. Hayley sees the painting Klaus did for the baby. (The Full Moon over the city - is that an :anvil: yes I think so.)

In they street people are still going crazy. Genevieve tells Elijah that Hayley is okay. She goes to leave but Elijah stops her to thank her. Eljiah tells her he can’t forgive her for taking Rebekah away from them. Elijah asks Genevieve to reverse the moon curse for Hayley after the baby is here. What exactly will the ring do for Hayley? Will she be able to control herself and not turn? Be able to care for the baby after she is born? This was a very interesting thing of Elijah to ask of Genevieve. Or does it actually have to do with Klaus' master plan?

We then see Marcel and Cami open up Shawn’s tomb. Cami notices something but she’s not going to tell Marcel anything. (I wonder if it has anything to do with the key, those drawings. I bet they do.) While Genevieve is talking to the ancestors, she begs them to allow her not to kill the unborn baby after she confronted Monique who cast the spell that put Hayley in the dream sleep. The ancestors answered Genevieve's prayers by bleeding her from the inside out. (I think Genevieve is living on borrowed time.)

Elijah asks Klaus to make up with Marcel. But instead of making amends the divide between the two men grew deeper. They share such a deep, painful and well written scene. Kudos to Joseph Morgan and Charles Michael Davis on their performances. Klaus has a flashback to when he was a young man. But then he sees this young boy (Marcel), the boy sees this woman being beat by his father. He tells his father to stop it. He stands in front of the woman and his father shoots Marcel. This leaves him fatally wounded. Klaus and Marcel are talking to each other, as he is dying; Marcel says “to turn him.” Klaus doesn't want to do this. Marcel says “he wants to stay with his real family.” Then of course Klaus turns his son and truly makes him part of his family. It’s what happens next that proves Marcel is his father’s son. We are in present day now, Klaus and Marcel are face to face, and Klaus speaks of “how much his betrayal has truly hurt him.” Marcel fires back with this answer “he never failed him and he will fight until he is dead.” Klaus says “he will expect nothing less.”
This was really a magnificent scene by these two actors.

Actually, what happened next totally took me by shock. I figured since the Elijah/Hayley relationship has been moving slow as molasses (well we’d get the kiss maybe in the final episode). But to my dismay and total surprise, I got the shock of my life. We have Elijah and Hayley sharing a tender moment, about the fact he almost lost her. Hayley is watching the parade outside the window; Elijah wants to talk to her though. (He isn’t holding back anymore!) Elijah says “You almost died today and I have never been so frightened in all my 1000 years.” (You heard the collective hearts breaking and faint across the world.) Elijah goes to leave, but Hayley says “Elijah.” She goes right over to him and they begin to kiss! All we heard was “Hallelujahs for Haylijah!” As quick as they kissed, it was over. He left the room, probably ready to burst with feelings and Hayley with a big grin on her face. I think it was a longtime coming and since both Hayley and Elijah, know they have to put Klaus’ feelings into consideration as the baby’s daddy. It will be fine since he is very well aware of his brother’s feelings for her.

What came next though were a bit unexpected and a great way to end a excellent episode. Davina is in the garden/greenhouse? She hears Tim’s violin music playing again but this time it’s ominous and guess who appears? Mikael! Do you think she could be one of the “Original Children” also? She seems to be very powerful and Mikael is going to her, why her?

I really enjoyed this episode for so many different reasons. Well written and very well acted by the cast. BRAVO.
