"Naiya... Have we met before? That name sounds familiar..." He told her. |

"Er…" She floundered slightly at that. She had silently hoped that he wouldn't have remembered their childhood friendship and subsequent argument. She didn't think she could stand knowing her first friend hated her. Perhaps it wasn't that he remembered. She was somewhat known for her unusual connection with the Winds, or her impressive information base after all. Hell, she was a well known case in the science community for her green hair, strange eyes and inhuman voice. Or maybe… hadn't she seen him in the gardens? With the white haired woman Valentine? "Maybe you've met me before?"

"No... In my old village... When I was a kid..." He mumbled, trying to remember. |

She grabbed a seat far from the duo, her hands holding a plate of raw fish as she placed down on the table. The penguin followed behind noisily and she reached out for him, placing him on her lap. She merely watched as the penguin reached for the plate with his flippers. The entire conversation between the duo found its way into her head and was recorded. Perhaps, it was one of the requirements. . . She looked around, not remembering why she was there. The sound of the penguin chowing down on his food seemed far away. Everything was alien to her. |

It was pointless to pretend not to remember now. All she could do now was pray to the Winds that he didn't hate her for not keeping in contact with him, for fleeing from him and for trying to persuade him from revenge. It was that, after all, that was their last argument, before he went his way and she hers. Forest orbs met emerald, and she felt a bittersweet smile settle on her features. Lightly touching his arm, she was silent for a moment before speaking. "Nixon… It's me, Naiya. From your childhood. Our childhood." She bowed her head, eyes dropping to the mug in front of her; anything to avoid seeing the disgust that would no doubt be smouldering in his eyes. "You were my only friend, the only person around my age that would speak to me. We used to meet by that fountain, the one with the two dragons, remember? You said the right dragon was me because it was green and small and I always said the long one was you because you were so tall. You towered over me, even then. For all it's worth Nixon… I'm sorry." She barely held herself from crying at the long past memories, memories that were so precious to her. Abruptly, she stood up and made to leave, not wanting to hear nor see the anger that Nixon held against her. She'd regretted their argument fiercely, and didn't think she could live with herself if she had confirmation that Nixon hated her. ~~~ The night was dark, clouds covering the moon and stars. She slipped through the night with ease, winds guiding her every step. She was close to the town, she could tell by the thinning trees. A brief glance back to see if anyone had followed her from her hometown, and she flipped up her hood, stepping into the village. A slight application of wind manipulation had her breezing through the streets too fast for an average passerby to notice her height. After all, no six year old should be out so late at night, and she was very much smaller than the average person her age. She finally reached her intended destination - the dragon fountain. Ever since she'd first seen it, she'd fallen in love with it, and spent hours gazing at the intricately carved details. Only tonight, she wasn't alone. Even in the dimness, she could see another figure sitting by the fountain. Naiya hesitated, debating whether to go over or leave. Ultimately, her curiosity won, and she walked closer. "H-hello," She greeted him as steadily as she could with her nerves jangling all over the place. It was a big risk to take, with her being so young and weak, but she could see that he wasn't an adult. The night had coloured her hair and eyes with ink, shading them till it looked as if she had obsidian eyes and ebony hair, both human and natural colours. Perhaps… perhaps she would be able to talk to him without him screaming devil and the sight of her. |

Nixon remembered now. His past, his mother, Naiya. He knew she was crying. He placed his drink on the table, stood up and grabbed her wrist, "Naiya... I remember now... It's alright now..." |

She started violently when Nixon grabbed her wrist, shock colouring her expression. "N-Nixon?" She barely dared to hope, hope that he might have forgiven her for their argument, forgiven her for presuming, forgiven her for running from him. Or maybe... Her heart sank. She was being too optimistic. He was going to yell at her now, she was sure. Almost hypnotically, she turned around with agonising slowness, gaze still firmly fixed on the floor. She deserved this. There was no doubt about that. Closing her eyes momentarily, she braced herself for the very bittersweet confrontation she'd been trying to avoid. |

Nixon let go of her wrist. He knew that what she was thinking. It was him being angry. He decided to something that will shock her a bit. He patted her head. He wiped her stray tears and said, "Hey now...Don't cry... I'm not mad or anything..." |

Braced for ranting or a furious tirade, Nixon's gently reassuring words had her completely shocked. Unbidden, the tears welling in her verdigris orbs fell, tracing quivering lines down her cheeks. She flinched slightly at the light brush of his fingers wiping the droplets away, still partially expecting blows that would never come. "Y-you're not… You…" she stuttered, voice trembling from emotion. Words failed her, and instead of attempting to voice her thoughts, she completely gave into her childish impulse and lunged forwards, burying her face in his chest, allowing tears to soak his shirt. |

Surprised by her actions, Nixon patted her heard and let her cry. She had the right to do so. He would wait for her actual response. |
