“Ryuukami? Aren't they supposed to be, like, this awesome Taijutsu clan? I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. What a let down,” Haruki said as he finally got up onto his feet. “I didn't get myself involved for you, or to get involved in your stuff. I did it because they hurt Kenta's honor, so this was just as much an honor thing for me as it was for you. However, I appreciate the thanks and compliment, you weren't half bad either.” Grinning back, the tired Genin let out a sigh shortly afterwards, doing a stretch.

“Man, I guess that counts for today's training,” he said, looking at Kenta, who had been nodding to the Tatsukerai's words, even if they were just the arrogant promises of some hot-headed kid. “Old man, you gonna prepare me another Tonkotsu? I need to replenish my energy. Don't worry, I'll pay.”

“One Tonkotsu, coming up,” Kenta chuckled, before turning towards Garyou. “What about you, hero? If you promise not to throw it again, I'll give you a discount to compensate for the one the Ryuukami brats took.” A smirk appeared on his old face, as he continued: “I'll make it extra spicy, just for you. You can get to test out one of my new recipes. I still need a name for it, maybe you'll think of something after you taste it?”

“That's because Kidourui is a poor example of what a Ryuukami is supposed to be. There are several of them running around here that know of one hundred different ways to properly flex the muscles needed to kick your ass and a thousand ways to actually kick it. They may be punks, but they're not weak...well, most of 'em anyways” Garyou responded, before listening to the Hyuuga as he continued to speak.

His words, however, merely caused the boy to shake his head “And I thought I was stubborn...look, I don't care why you got involved, the point was, you shouldn't have. The old-timer's honor is his to fight for, not yours and I mean no offense by this, but throwing yourself into fights because of a ramen shack and claiming it's a matter of honor is undermining what honor means. You have to understand that, at least for us Tatsukerai, it's not some word to be thrown around for any old thing; honor is very much a living, breathing thing that we fight to protect and preserve. For us, honor transcends the individual; the entire clan shares the same honor and fights to protect that honor when we find it threatened by those who wish to take it from us, such as these punks over here” Garyou took a deep breath, astounded that he had even spoken this much on something so absolutely traditional and archaic “Listen, let's just sum it up like this: If you're going to put yourself on the line for a damn noodle shack, don't call it an act of honor, call it an act of stupid passion. Belive you me, Haruki, I'm an authority on stupid acts of passion”

Rubbing his eyes and scratching his head, Garyou wasn't sure what tired him out more: the fight or the lecture he had just given. The Hyuuga went on to order, no, almost demand another bowl of ramen to which the old timer happily agreed, extending a similar offer to Garyou as well. While the offer was tempting, Garyou decided to decline “Maybe next time around, old timer” he said shoving his hands into his pants pockets “It's probably for everyone's best if I'm not around when the three stooges come to...you can bet I'll be back though...I'm starting to find this part of town exciting”

The chestnut haired genin began to walk down the street, throwing a curt wave into the air as he sauntered off “By the way, I like the sound of that 'hero' thing, spread it around....and Haruki!” Garyou stopped and turned on his heel “If you're going to be throwing yourself into any stupid situations, let me know, we make an alright team”

And with that, Garyou turned once more and headed for home, fully knowing that by the time he arrived there, his father would already somehow know of what he had gotten himself into that afternoon.

“I'm not letting an old man fight, and don't lecture me on honor,” Haruki said with a tired shake of his head. “My view on honor is clearly different from yours, that doesn't make either wrong, so don't even try telling me it is.” Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Haruki watched as Garyou decided not to take up Kenta's offer, instead walking off like some cliché hero, which Haruki knew well enough that he was not. He was just an arrogant brat, who's greatest achievement was to beat up a pair of fellow Genin – a sad excuse or Genin too. Not that Haruki himself was a hero – yet. It would come, and maybe he would do it together with Garyou. Whatever you called it, they had formed a bond in fighting together. It was nothing close or tight, but it was there, and it would only grow as time passed on., he believed.

“Well, you want to try it then? I warn you, it's gonna be hot!” Kenta asked, the Hyuuga shrugging nonchalantly, replying with a simple: “Sure, I'm up for something new,” before the two of them walked back into the ramen house, Haruki making sure to softly kick the Ryuukami he had fought. Only thing the guy had going for him was his ability to take hits. He would need more then that. However, Haruki had also learned that he had a weakness, and after this meal, maybe he should work on it.

“That kid, he's a good fighter,” Kenta said as they both got inside, him behind the counter and Haruki sitting at a stool. “But he thinks he's figured it all out. He'll learn, and I'm sure that when he does, he'll become a great shinobi. Don't lose sight of him, Haruki. You wouldn't want to lose, do you?”

“I'm not going to, gramps, so don't you worry,” Haruki replied with a smirk. “I won't let someone like him get ahead of me."

“Good to hear, good to hear. Also, just for your information. I may be an old man, but I would have made these boys ever feel sorry they set foot in my ramen shop still,” Kenta then said with a chuckle, as he placed a bowl of ramen on the counter. “But you did a good job, I'm proud of you.”

“No problem gramps!” the Hyuuga boy replied, as he snapped a pair of chopsticks apart and duck in with a loud: “Itadakimasu!” Soon enough filling the small street with his voice, as the spices touched his tongue...
