“Thanks for the meal. That was ... Interesting,” Haruki said, as he emptied his third glass of milk in order to kill the burning sensation on his tongue. He had just tasted a new recipe by Kenta, a super spicy ramen. The taste was brilliant, but it had been intensely hot. “You said you needed a name for it, right? Well … I'll think about it, right now, my brain is too crispy to think straight.” Hopping off his stool, Haruki was just about to leave, when Kenta cleared his throat, causing the boy to turn, his white eyes falling on a backpack placed on the table. “What's that?” the Hyuuga asked, causing Kenta to sigh with a smile. “Oh … I forgot I promised to do some advertising.” This time, the boy sighed, walking to the counter to look into the backpack, which seemed to be filled with flyers. Gazing up at Kenta, he put on a questioning look. “If you had these many flyers, why didn't you just … advertise?” “I'm an old man, Haruki. Not to mention I'm busy attending this place all day, seven days a week. I need someone young and fresh to do it for me. I'm sure if you start now, you'll be done by dinner-time!” “I see,” Haruki said, as he strapped on the backpack. “I guess I'll be going then. If I miss dinner, mom'll have my hide.” With that, the boy ran out of the ramen shop, ending up on the little side street. Putting his hands into a seal, he activated his Byakugan, checking his surroundings, trying to remember his exact position in the city. He would have to calculate the best route to go, so he would be able to spread the flyers across the whole village in the fastest possible time. Crouching down, he tried drawing a map in the dirt, using his finger, thinking hard on the question at hand. Finally, after a moment of thinking, he jumped to his legs and set off. As the boy darted across town, using the roofs to manoeuvre, he would spread the flyers everywhere he went, sometimes sticking them to a kunai, which he then threw at trees. He moved as fast as his body was able, taking a few breaks now and then to catch his breath, before darting off again. After a while, he had begun thinking of it as a form of training, and thus pushed himself to his limits, while trying to hit specific targets when aiming his kunai. Eventually, the boy placed himself against a tree, exhausted. His right hand clutched at the bark, as his left clutched at his chest, the boy huffing greatly. Pulling off the backpack, he then searched inside, finding it to finally be empty. Then, looking up at the sun, he concluded that there was still some time before dinner would be served. I did it! he thought, doing a tired fist pump into the air. Then, looking around, he tried to find out where he was in the village, soon concluding that he was, in fact, standing right outside the village hot springs. This is almost too perfect. Not much later, after having paid the lady who owned the hot springs and changed into his bare naked skin, covered only by a borrowed towel, he sat down in the water, letting out a loud, satisfied: “Ah~!” At the moment, the hot springs were empty, the boy all alone in the giant pool of hot water. Life was great. Was there anything that could ruin it? |

While walking to the hot spring I peer up from my book and notice flyers pinned up to tree's and fences along the way. Thinking in my head free ninja tools I tuck away my book and begin up pinning kunai along the way. Arriving at the hot spring 23 kunai later, I tuck the last one away in my over stuffed pouch and walk in. The lady at the counter quickly darts over to me and insist I pay her some money I owe her. "Until you pay for last night I am not letting you in Tenshu!" She yells as she holds out her hand. Smelling my self I know I am in a dire need of a bath so I pull out some cash and pay her all that I owe and then some. "Here you greedy hag, don't spend it all in one place!" While walking over to the locker room I count the remaining money I have and notice I am in dire need of an other mission. The only problem is I have no team mates to even go on one. Removing my robe and my foot wear I put them in a locker and close it. (I leave my mask on like always) Contemplating where I can find other genin to go on a mission I walk over to the door into the hot spring area. Noticing only one other person here I go to the other end of the hot spring and sit down in the water. After a few minutes of silence and collecting my thoughts I feel my stomach getting upset. I notice it is still just the 2 of use in the hot spring today. So for the sake of breaking the silence I decide to stick up a conversation. So that I may let out my gas. "Yo what's your name?" I say while sneaking in the release of my gas. Hopefully I was loud enough to cover the noise. I just hope he doesn't notice the bubbles. Edited by The DeadMau5, Aug 25 2012, 04:14 AM.

The peace and solidarity did not last long, as the sliding doors opened to reveal … A giant mouse man? At first, the Hyuuga wanted to reach for his shinobi tools, until he remembered he was naked, and, for obvious reasons, had not decided to bring a kunai hidden under his bath towel. Instead, he just watched the giant, mouse-headed man in silence, as the person sat down in the water across from him and said nothing. The silence lasted for several minutes, until the man suddenly spoke, and only then did the Hyuuga realize it was a mask, feeling quite ridiculous afterwards. “Yo, what's your name?” At first, the Hyuuga was unsure if he should answer, but eventually, he gave a quick reply: “Haruki.” Silence followed yet again, the boy just staring at the mask. He felt the urge to use hi Byakugan to take a look at the guy's face, but decided not to. Even if the steam created a mist that obscured the view slightly, he might be able to notice the bulging veins. “What about you?” the boy finally asked, stopping himself before he had the time to add: ”And what's with that mask?”. Maybe the guy was covered in sores, or had been burned in the face, and was wearing the mask, so that he would not have to show it to other people. Maybe he was ashamed? Whatever the case, the boy had to be respectful, and try to avoid mentioning(or staring too much at) the mask. |

Hearing the other man's name I begin contemplating where i heard that name before. Thinking in my head I begin to think about the days I spent in the academy, although because of the dense mist I can barely make out his face so it makes it hard to figure it out. While thinking deeply I hear the other man speak up. "What about you?" He says while he stares at me through the mist. Looking up I notice him staring at me through the mist, I can slightly see his face through the mist and can see he has no pupils.. letting out a smirk I figure he is a hyuuga, and is staring at the giant mask I am wearing, and after a short pause I reply. "......Uchiha Tenshu, The mouse of the Sharingan. You said your name is Haruki right? Any chance your a shinobi as well? You look like a dude I went to the academy with." While waiting for the man to reply I reach in through what seems to be the mouth hole of my mask, but is really where my face is and scratch my nose. Then reaching behind my head I pull out a book I store there. While opening the book I begin reading the chapter on advanced chakra control. (The book I am reading is on medical jutsu, since that is what my character's future goal is to be.) |

An Uchiha? Haruki would never had guessed. Such a proud clan, yet he wore a giant mouse-shaped helmet on his head. Well, the Hyuuga was not one to ask questions. He had already pondered the reasons he could be wearing it, though still, a mouse head seemed a weird choice. However, before Haruki could fill his head up with any more thoughts, the man claimed he reminded him of a guy at the academy. However, from Haruki's guess, the guy was at least five years older than he, and would probably have graduated even before, or the same year, that Haruki had entered. Besides, he would surely have remembered the mouse head. “Yeah, Hyuuga Haruki,” the boy replied, trying to throw off the weird thoughts. “I just graduated the other day, so I doubt we've met.” Haruki put on a nervous smile. He wondered who he could mean then. He did look like your average Hyuuga, maybe aside from his short hair, many Hyuuga finding long hair the way to go. He then noticed that the other guy had pulled out a book. It had to be a resilient one, as the damp air would surely ruin the pages of your ordinary book. He also wondered how he could even read in this subtle mist, while also wearing a giant mouse head. Man, he kept coming back to that mouse head... “So, uh ...” Haruki started, trying to find a way to ask, choosing to just go and do it directly: “What're you reading? Anything exciting?” In a way, the boy was a little afraid of the answer. What if it was some sort of erotic novel or something? Maybe the guy wore his mask in order to hide his perverted face? Just then, Haruki realized he might be in the bath with a pervert... |

Hearing the younger man say his full name I realize i must have made a mistake. He probably just reminded me of another hyuga I went to school with. Determined to make at least one friend I continue to try and keep the conversation going. "I see.... You reminded me of a fellow who I went to school with except he had longer hair. But those eyes are definitely that of the hyuga clan....." As I am flipping through the pages to the spot I left off, I hear you mutter your next question. Taking note of the hesitation in your voice I decide to mess with you a bit so after a short pause I look up from the book as if I was very deep into reading it and reply: "Oh this?! It's just a novel I picked up about a boy who met the man of his dreams in the local hot spring in their village. I like the imagery the book brings to mind *letting out a girly sigh* It's amazing." Continuing to flip through the pages I try my best to hold in my laugh just to mess with you a bit while you freak out. Thinking in my head "I wonder what his reaction is going to be?" I finally reach the point I left off and begin reading about the Mystical Palm Technique. I have always wanted to apply my chakra control skill to learning this tech, but because of my laziness in the past I was unable to get into medical school, that and probably because of the fact my mask distracts a lot of people. |

Haruki nodded as the man said that he was indeed thinking of someone else, before he crossed his arms and closed his eyes, waiting for the answer to his own question. Then, when it came, the boy's eyes opened once more and widened into tea cups, as he found himself pressing himself against the edge of the bath with every fibre of his being. Had he seriously just raised the awkwardness of this situation by a hundred? Haruki really hoped he was joking, he really really hoped it, with all his being. “I … I see. Sounds … Interesting,” the boy said, trying his hardest to sound natural, which did not go well. He suddenly felt the urge to instantaneously leave the bath, but he would have to get closer to the man in order to reach the door, and for some reason, he was a bit frightened. It was not that he had anything against what this man apparently liked to read about, but the way it had fit perfectly with this current situation made his heart pump blood throughout his body as if he was running for his life. The peaceful spring trip had turned into a real life nightmare. Sinking, the boy started to speak again, as he slowly got onto his feet. “Oh well … I better get on home,” the boy said in a badly hidden shaky voice. He then began waling around the man, hoping he would not notice the way he kept his front towards him, and stayed by the edge of the pool. “Well, it was, eh … Nice to meet you, Tenshu-san.” he said, as he got closer and closer to the door... |

Hearing your now nervous sounding response I let out a little grin which is only slightly visible through my mask. Continuing to read the current page I am on, I watch as you begin to slowly rise to your feet. Knowing that I have apparently made you uncomfortable with my joke. I watch as you get up and hearing you poor excuse of having to leave all of a sudden I watch as you awkwardly leave the tub. As you near the door, I stand up as well. “Well, it was, eh … Nice to meet you, Tenshu-san.” You say as I get out of the tub. Then unable to hold it in any longer I begin laughing hysterically. "I can't believe you fell for that, it's just a Medical book." Walking towards the door I face the page towards you showing you it's contents. Then walking pass you I enter the Male locker room and head towards the towel rack. "You really think if I was into that stuff I would come at you in the hot spring? Something like that could ruin a guy's rep in my clan." Picking up a towel form the rack I then walk over to the sink and keeping my back to you I pull of my mask momentarily only to cover my face with a wash cloth to wash it. Then when I am done I quickly pull away the towel and put back on my mask leaving almost no time for anyone to possible see my face. |

Suddenly, the man stood, the Hyuuga freezing in place. Was he going to die now? Or worse? Just then, the masked man began laughing. A hysterical, ear-twisting laugh, before he showed the current page to the boy, as he passed him. It seemed it was a book on medical jutsu and techniques. Haruki suddenly felt dumb, but also a bit relieved. Following the guy, his shoulders hand low, his back arched and he felt like a complete idiot. The two then proceeded to dry themselves off, changing into their usual attire. Haruki had hoped to get a glimpse of the man's face, but sadly, he was not that lucky. He could still use his Byakugan, but it would seem rude, even if he did it while his back was turned and the guy would not be able to tell. Once dressed, the boy took a look in one of the mirrors, making sure his hitai-ate was placed correctly. Adjusting it a few times to make sure it was perfect, while leaving his hair a mess, the boy turned to face the guy, avoiding eye contact(which would be hard anyway due to the mask not giving him a clue as to where his eyes were) “So, I take it you're a ninja too, having been in the academy and all?” he said, trying to get rid of the awkward silence. Looking over the man again, he concluded that due to his apparent age the guy must be... “Jounin?” The boy then awaited an answer, clueless to the man's true rank... |

AS you turn to face me I notice your eyes wandering as if you may be trying to avoid eye contact with me. Although I am used to people acting like this around me, I feel a little remorse. I was hoping with my joke I would break the tension in hopes of making a new friend, but I guess my joke was a bit to much for the lad. Then hearing the lad's question I respond with hesitation. "Jounin!... Hahaha I wish. I have been taking it easy these last few years. I am still a genin also. Unlike my class mates I chose to go and help out my clan, and lazily hang around with the police force. I would like to do some missions though but Hokage-sama won't let me solo a mission. He said I need to be on a team. Unfortunately though it's hard to find people that hold grudges against me." Grabbing my footwear out form the locker I place them on the floor in front of me and slip my feet into them. I then check to see if I have all my gear on me, and head towards the door to the from of the hot spring, dropping the towel in the dirty pile near the door. As I pull aside the curtain to step out I look back and say: "So do you have a team yet? You said you graduated yesterday right?" Then walking out I await anxiously for your response. Thinking in my head "I hope he invites me to be on his team, I really need the cash. Plus it would be nice to have a comrade that I know can watch my back at all times." |
