Take refuge in one of the many hotels and casinos spread through downtown Detroit. Individual housing, plenty of food, plenty of barricade equipment, a lot of windows to board up.

Full of guns, lawn mowers, video games and jewelry the pawn shop is a good place to find a gun. Now you gotta find ammo for it.

The cops might still be holding out in their stations, they may not. An armory, an evidence room and the bars on the windows make it easy to defend, but don't expect enough food to go around.

Only the brave souls wander the streets of downtown on foot. Infested with zombies, left over gangs and people willing to murder you for a sandwich.

Men and women who spent their days in bars and dives sometimes choose to live out their remaining life there as well. Not many windows and alcohol is good for morale, but try not to be hammered when the zombies get in because the drunks opened the door to piss outside.

Many apartment buildings dot the downtown area. Some are still holding out safely, while others have been over run.Seeking refuge within them is a gamble.

Some survivors have chosen to stay in their homes and board up the windows for this outbreak. Some didn't make it in time, leaving their homes open for raiding. Just be careful where you break in.

A good place to find weapons and ammo, but remember that everyone has this idea. No bathrooms, no food, plenty of guns and ammo. But how long will that keep you alive on its own?

Though a safer place to roam than the streets of downtown, the streets of the suburbs are still crawling with the undead. If the coast is clear, check cars for supplies.

Lots of weapons, supplies, food and shelter, but it is going to be a zombie hot spot. A small group of zombies getting in could have the mall infested in hours.

The college is a good place to hole up if you can secure it. A food court, bathrooms, showers, classrooms for individual housing and the windows already being reinforced make it a prime location. Be careful though, large size and winding hallways make being surprised by something hungry very possible.

Small business owners trying to escape the activity and crime rate of the downtown area place their businesses in the suburbs. Now those that are not over run act as shelter and supply sources for the few survivors remaining.

Take refuge in the scrap yard and make a makeshift fort out of the countless sheets of metal and rubbage. A small snack shack and some vending machines offer some sustenance, but breaking into them will be noisy. A single guard tower makes for good scouting and a last defense. You might wanna sleep up there if it isn't taken.

Trying to take a car on the freeway is like trying to shove a rock through a boulder. The freeway is piled with cars, wrecks, and half eaten bodies some of which are still moving around. Be careful which cars you raid, some zombies might still be in the cars, restrained only by their seat belt.

If you are wandering on the edges of the city, be careful. It isn't any better out there than in here.

Those seeking salvation from what they consider to be hell's punishment will likely flock here. Sturdy doors and pews to barricade with are all it has to offer in defense. Very litle food, no makeshift weapons, severe cabin fever and hygienic issues.
