Hi, Although I've been playing No Mercy on emulators for several years I'm new to this whole modding thing. I've wanted to play TNA vs ROH since it was first released but never was able to get it to work due to crappy video cards, incompetence on my behalf, etc. A few days ago I was finally able to get it to work. And after waiting around 5 or 6 years to actually play it I found it to be a very fun experience. I added a few wrestler mods from this forum (thanks by the way) to the game and that was cool. But now I want to try out other mods. I've tried to load the TNA: Cross the Line mod but couldn't get it to work properly. So my question is, is it possible to play a different mod without having to delete the one you are currently using? I tried just replacing the hi-res textures, save and cht files but the none of the textures loaded. Did I do something wrong? What files need to be replaced and can you just back up the old files in order to use them later? Do some mods require different video plugins other than the Rice Video Plugin 6.1.1 one I used for TNA vs ROH? Well, I guess that was more than one question. Sorry for the long post. I just am fairly illiterate when it comes to this kind of thing. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks. |

It should have worked perfectly if all you replaced was the cht, save and hi-res texture files. Can you post a screen-cap of your settings? Also, are the moves and names of the wrestlers showing up,but not the textures? If so, I would double check your textures file and make sure it is in the proper folder, and that the folder is named correctly. |

Thanks for the help. When I double checked the plugin folder I saw that for some reason it had created two plugin folders. I deleted one of them and now it's working fine. Although whenever I try to do hacked finishers the game glitches like crazy. Any way I can fix that? |

It would depend, what save are you using? Some of them have older cht. files, and the best bet is to only turn on the move hacks for each specific wrestler you are using for the match, it can be tedious. Some saves are fine, others have this problem. I would try to only turn one move hacks that would be used in-match, instead of clicking them all. |

I'm using TNA: Cross the Line. The cht file is from March of 2010. There are a few other issues like the first square on some roster pages keep blinking and the hack that was used from Tomko's beard didn't render as he just as a huge white square hanging off his face. But other than that everything looks right and the gameplay is smooth. The only time I have an issue is in trying to do finishers. I'll try doing what you suggested later tonight. For the record I've no problems with TNA vs RoH other than some minor glitches I could usually fix by just restarting the match. Thanks again for your help and for being patient with me. I'm brand new to all of this. |

I happen to like people who are brand-new to this, and don't mind helping out in the slightest. Check your blender/combiner settings in your graphics plugin to fix the white squares, that usually helps that out. You might also do well to make sure what hacks you have selected, sometimes they all are not needed for proper play (edit and modding hacks, ect.). Also, what video plugin are you using? Most new saves require the use of mudlord's plugin for everything to work fine. |

Glad to hear you like new people. I was a little worried I was going to be an annoyance or say something that sounded really dumb to experienced users. As I'm sure you are aware message boards tend to not be the friendliest places. As far as your initial advice about selecting move hacks, it worked somewhat. For example AJ's Styles Clash works great but when I try to do a top rope muscle buster with Samoa Joe he just kind of goes for a top rope diamond cutter and then the animation skips and the opponent just pops out of the corner and stands face to face with me. Then with Tara her Widow's Peak technically works but the animation is terrible. It did however stop the flickering on the roster screen but Tomko still has a huge white block for a beard and Raven's hair isn't quite right. But I'll look into combiner/blender settings like you said if I can get everything else to work right. I very much doubt I ever feel the need to play as Tomko though. As far as video plugin I'm using Rice Video Plugin 6.1.1 Beta 10. Which I guess could be my problem. |

If the animation is terrible..... well... it worked. Move hacks in No mercy don't use newly made animations, unfortunately. The way new moves are implemented is by splicing animations already in the game. So.... the animations used are quite limited. No clue about the muscle buster, it didn't work when selected by itself? That's weird. I haven't played that save in quite some time, I wish I could help you on that. We have an alternative save for TNA in high resolution, if all else fails. The combiner/blender settings will fix the white blocks. Guaranteed. I'm having trouble finding mudlord's plugin on my hard drive, but I'll keep looking.Message boards do tend to be a bit unfriendly, and I created this place so new people have a friendly environment to learn, download, and enjoy. I'm glad it's being used.

Ok. I guess maybe my expectations were a little too high. But all the moves in TNA vs RoH looked pretty good. The moves I could get to work in Cross the Line all looked pretty good outside of the Widow's Peak. It just looked very choppy almost as if it was trying to run two animations at once. But's it not a big deal if that's the way it's supposed to look. I found a copy of Mudlord's plugin online but I can't install it. When I try to extract in the project 64 plugins folder it says the extraction can't be completed. But I can extract on my desktop, no problem. Can I just move the files into the plugin folder from my desktop? Or is there another way to install it? To be honest I'm not a really a big TNA fan. So if I can't get to work I can just try out another save and see how it goes. I mostly just want to play as Hamada and I can't imagine her being in any of the other saves. |

Yes, you can move the files directly into your PJ.64 folder, make sure it's in the plugins section. Maybe the Widow's Peak IS glitching, I can't really say since I can't see what's happening, but I'm willing to leave it in the realm of possibility.

Ok, I installed Mudlord's plugin. Although I'm not sure it made much of a difference. It seems to be working the same as it did before for the most part. Although Samoa Joe actually completes the top rope diamond cutter now and the Widow's Peak, while not great, looks the way I think it's supposed to. Although I think that actually has more to do with not turning on all the cheats than the actual plugin. But I could be wrong. I still can't play the game with all the cheats turned on which is annoying but I can work with it. I found that I have to not only turn off move hacks but move replacements as well. So as long as I only turn on the hack/replacements for the wrestlers I'm using in the match it's fine. I haven't done too much yet but it seems I can even play tag matches where all four guys have move hack cheats. So long as I only turn on the one's for the guys I'm using. I'm assuming this means battle royals are out of the question. But hopefully PPVs and Tournaments still work. I usually like to create a whole show through PPV mode or do a tournament rather than just play random matches. Again though I really appreciate all your help today. Although I think tomorrow I'll try out Invasion or Starrcade 64 and see if they are easier to work with. I was always more of a WCW fan anyway. Actually, I only started to care about WWF through playing No Mercy back in 2000. |

Starrcade is one of the absolute best saves available, and WWF Legends is great, especially when it comes to the hacks and cheats. |
