Welcome to Colverton Zoo! Colverton is one of the largest and well funded zoos in the world. It is home to many endangered species as it is key in reintroducing animals on the verge of extinction back into the wild via its breeding programs. It is also quiet interesting because Colverton is preparing for numerous births of some endangered fauna. This go round, we visit it's most well known section... Indonesia. We are going to check out some recent additions. Firstly... We are at the Reese Building. ![]() The Reese Building named after Dr. Hanna Reese, is the primary home facility to the zoos 5 Sumatran Elephants. Upon entry... We come to the privacy housing for the 2 males, Thunder and Chai. Here we see Thunder who is not allowed outside at the moment via an incident with a female. ![]() Here is both male pens. ![]() Around the corner is the larger open pen for the 3 female, Lotus, Sirikit and Amporn. ![]() ![]() ![]() Once we exit the building we can head to the next section of the elephant habitat. ![]() ![]() Look to your right The elephants are outside! ![]() ![]() Lets enter the yard building now

Thanks Folks. Caviar... Im not that great. lol Update... Behind the Elephant habitat is the first half of The Grand Temples. Here is entrance one. ![]() There are three enclosures in this portion. They are all viewable from the inside, while one offers peaks inside from the paths of entry. Can you see inside?? ![]() Lets go in. Enclosure One is home to Magnus and Pea. ![]() Here is Magnus now... ![]() He and Pea are Malayan Sun Bears. They can often be seen sleeping on their platform. ![]() These clumsy acrobats have plenty of climbing logs and posts at their disposal. They also enjoy playing in their pond. ![]() ![]() They are attention hounds so they are commonly walking along the fences. XD ![]() ![]() At play... ![]() GoodBye Pea! ![]() An overhead before we move on...

I'm so jealous, no matter how hard I try I can't get any of my zoos to look as well thought out. Keep up the amazing work.
