It has recently come to my attention that Osiris doesn't have an NS religion, and indeed that few NS religions exist. Therefore, I propose that a new one be founded every month, either by myself or by any citizen of Osiris, to be our NS religion for that month.

Hint: To those of you that want to make a religion, this site: http://chaoticshiny.com/religiongen.php is very useful as a starting point.

I'll get this started then. Here's the one for February:

Aeraphra:
This religion features eight divine figures. They are as follows:

Trindril, the God of Good, Valor and Memory, is blindingly beautiful, with ebony skin, long, rippling black hair, and eyes the color of cold iron. He is short and willowy, and looks somewhat malicious. He is also associated with feasts, solstices and law. He is often worshipped by warriors. His surprisingly few followers can be primarily distinguished by the shrines in their homes. There are a small number of altars dedicated to him near lakes. There are many myths involving his ongoing arguments with Drov. He is the cousin of Shazla. He is known to help virtuous mortals.

Drov, the Goddess of Summer and Music, is quite beautiful, with dark skin, long, flowing black hair, and eyes the color of black opals. She is medium height and willowy, and usually has a guarded expression. She is also associated with dawn, arrogance and science. Her few, but dedicated followers can be primarily distinguished by their hairstyle. There are quite a few offerings to her near rivers. There are many myths involving her vast travels with Elat. She is the cousin of Learao. She is known to have relationships with mortals in dire need.

Learao, the God of Graves and Plants, is divinely beautiful, with ashen skin, long, swirling black hair, and eyes the color of dark rubies. He is very tall and slightly plump, and generally has a blissful expression. He is also associated with orphans. There are many myths involving his ongoing arguments with certain mortals. He is the cousin of Elat. He is known to sometimes hinder mortals in dire need.

Shazla, the Goddess of Strife and Rain, is surprisingly plain, with copper skin, short, straight pale golden hair, and eyes the color of polished oak. She is tall and solidly built, and is usually laughing. She is also associated with celebration and dusk. She is often worshiped by warriors. Her numerous followers can be primarily distinguished by the rites they perform. There are many myths involving her ongoing arguments with Trindril. She is the mother of Trindril. She is known to place challenges before mortal heroes.

Titar, the God of Cats, Charisma and Warriors, is blindingly beautiful, with fair skin, short, curly flaming red hair, and eyes the color of fire opals. He is medium height and muscular, and is always smiling. He is also associated with resurrection. There are many myths involving his many misadventures with Idaeylavro. He is the brother of Idaeylavro. He is known to give help to mortal villains.

Scar, the God of the Moon and Keys, is surprisingly plain, with sallow skin, long, flowing light grey hair, and eyes the color of a wild wolf's. He is very tall and willowy, and has a faraway expression. He is also associated with death and politics. He is often worshipped by youths. His surprisingly numerous followers can be primarily distinguished by the weapons they bear. There are many carvings of him in cities. There are many myths involving his tumultuous affairs with Shazla. He is the brother of Idaeylavro. He is known to hinder great mortal heroes.

Idaeylavro, the God of Fire, Borders and Seduction, is divinely beautiful, with tanned skin, short, rippling medium brown hair, and eyes the color of sparkling amber. He is very tall and very muscular, and usually has a guarded expression. He is also associated with dogs and mysteries. He is often worshipped by wanderers. His few, but dedicated followers can be primarily distinguished by their hairstyle. There are more than a few alters to him on islands. There are many myths involving his rough relationship with Shazla. He is the brother of Elat. He is known to help epic mortal heroes.

Elat, the Goddess of Creation, is somewhat plain, with copper skin, long, flowing light brown hair, and eyes the color of the night sky. She is short and very slender, and looks somewhat malicious. She is also associated with friendship and the desert. Her numerous followers can be primarily distinguished by the holidays they observe. There are many myths involving her unhappy relationship with Drov. She is the sister of Titar. She is known to sometimes place obstacles in the way of charismatic mortals.

This religion believes the afterlife to be a place of eternal celebration. Worship involves solemn private meditation. Its’ creation story states that Elat built the world and breathed life into it, and that Drov, jealous of this creation, created human beings and spread them throughout the world. It views Recklessness and Pride as dangerous sins. Coming of age occurs at 19 years of age. Marriage is romantic in nature, and marriage rites are attended by a few close friends and family members. Death is not discussed publicly and death rites are private.

Did you find that somewhere or write it up yourself, as that's a pretty cool religion! Definitely a good read.

Feel free to build temples, invent heresies, and (most fun) try and spread it to our allied regions and watch their expressions of puzzlement.
