The Osiris Oracle: The truth is...Hileville is just as cuddly as he looks.

Hile making OF feel uncomfortable.

Old Fed: How long have you been in Osiris?
Hileville:
Since November of 2011. I registered for the forums and had a nation in Osi then but didn't really get involved until I took on the role of Attorney General in January of 2012.

OF: So you've been here from the beginning. You've also been playing NS for years, mainly in the GCRs. Is that correct?
Hile:
Actually I joined NS in May of 2011 so not really for years. I am actually pretty new to the game compared to others. I have had a couple of stints in UCRs but never really found one I liked.

OF: What other positions have you held in Osiris?
Hile:
I served a couple of terms as a Kenbeti (judge) after AG and then was appointed to serve another partial term this past summer. Until now those were the only two positions I had held in Osiris.

Hileville during his time as a Kenbeti.
We apologize for this erroneous picture of Hileville.
Those responsible have been sacked.

OF: What do you think of Osiris' evolution as a community? How has it changed from two years ago?
Hile:
I liked the community here when I first started getting involved. It was a friendly place to come and just have fun and enjoy the people you are around. Somewhere along the line it started turning into a toxic environment which took everything out of the people that were in it. It is never a good thing when people constantly threaten to coup the region if they don't get their way. This attitude is what caused so much harm to the community and all of the recent coups. Thinking about it the coup in December 2012 was really the turning point of the community.

OF: What about now, what about Venicoup? Isn't this change only adding to the "toxicity?"
Hile:
Something feels different about this time. I really don't know what it is but it just feels right. I don't think this adds to the toxicity. I think with the ejections of the core group that was behind a lot of what made the community toxic will allow the community to further develop. Like I said something about this just feels right for the region. I am very optimistic that a lot of progress will come from these changes.

OF: Well, what wasn't developing in the community, as compared to other regions?
Hileville:
When you have people that threaten to coup if they don't get their way, it hinders any sort of progress in the region and puts new players off rather easily. The general atmosphere in the region is what prevented any sort of development. In some of the other GCR's, we are seeing the community further develop and really offer something unique to their members. In TSP, you have a big variety of things all starting to take shape. In Lazarus, you have a complete theme makeover that has resulted in a huge activity boost.

OF: Are there any changes with the founding of the Osiris Fraternal Order besides the ejection of the Empire that will help the community develop?
Hile:
Yes. When a functioning Constitution is passed, we will really be on the right track. One of the issues I had with the post-KRO Asta days was the lack of a Constitution. I am really glad to see progress in that area.

In order to convince Hile to give an interview, the above fangirl was promised...

OF: Why Osiris? Perhaps your time would be better spent somewhere else?
Hile:
I like it here and get along with a lot of the people here. There was a time not too long ago that I thought about leaving but as long as I have time to dedicate to Osiris I will. I want to see the region succeed and not have to worry about another coup every couple days. I think we are taking the region where it needs to go in order to prevent that fear.

OF: Why are you the Scribe of Isis (Minister of Integration)?
Hile:
Well I guess Venico and Cormac saw something they liked to offer me the position. I am big on serving a region when there is a need and I have the time to give to fill that need. I want to see things change in Osiris and want to be involved in changing that in every way possible.

OF: What do you want to accomplish as Scribe? What things do you want to keep from the old Osiris and what things do you want to start?
Hile:
With integration I really want to see a mentoring program that is unique and actually accomplishes what it is supposed to. This never really was developed in Osiris before despite at least one attempt I can remember. Having informative guides and a history about the region that change as the game and region changes is also important to me. I think we are a unique place where we are able to start from the ground up while keeping the history of the region for new nations to learn. I don't think there really is anything that I would fight to keep. Having a diverse community that is involved in different areas of the game is really fun and I know that can develop here.

OF: You mention new nations and keeping a written history. Sounds like you want Osiris to have an identity. However, Osiris isn't a feeder, it is a sinker. How can the Minister of Integration integrate a melting pot of distinctive players?
Hile:
We have seen a variety of different nations come though Osiris. A lot of those have been players that have been around the block, but we do get players that let their nation die and then come back and want to try us out. So the guides and history part would be for those nations that really haven't been around NS for a long time or who don't pay attention to the GCR's. Players that have been around in NS should still take advantage of the histories in order to get a feel for what Osiris is and was.

As the Minister in charge of integrating new nations, I plan on growing the department so we can even touch base with the older nations and make sure they know we are here. I know [from] when I have went to a new region [that] it can be hard even if you know some information about it. Getting to know the ins and outs is a lot easier when you have people to help you along the way. That is what I want Integration to become here in Osiris.

...but he got Bob instead.

OF: What should a priest who has signed up for the Temple of Isis expect to be doing?
Hile:
They should be active in the region and that is one of the most important things. Welcoming new people to the forums and being assigned a mentor as soon as I get the program out of my head and onto paper. Then when they aren't posting and answering questions we are going to be writing guides about the region and NS as a whole.

OF: What do you want to do after your time as scribe is over?
Hile:
I really don't know yet. I haven't really ever had a plan of what I wanted to do in NS. It just has kinda turned out the way it has. I like not knowing and playing it day by day.

OF: What would you want the fangirls of Osiris to know about you?
Hile:
That I'm single. No. I guess that I am open to talk to anyone about anything. I also like criticism so if I do something that somebody doesn't like tell me about. One of the things I have learned so far in NS is that you have to be willing to be flexible in a lot of areas. I stand by my beliefs but am willing to listen to the other side and have overtime adapted those beliefs.

Very nice interview. I'm sure Hileville is going to do great things with Integration and I'm looking forward to seeing what the plan looks like when it gets out of his head. :P
