Hello, Houseguests. I'm your host, Julie Chen. You are about to spend fifty-nine days with eleven strangers in the official Big Brother ShipHouse. Fitted with bedrooms, a backyard, and other amenities, HouseGuests will spend their time cutoff from the outside world, and at times from each other. Explaining this game is difficult, but you are free to ask as many questions as you must. The bulk of the game will take place in Cycles, much like Survivor, though unlike Survivor, these Cycles do not have a set length. However, they will typically last about 7 Days. During a Cycle, players will battle for power to become the Cycle's Head of Household, take part in the week's Have or Have-Nots Competition, then the Head of Household nominates two players for Eviction, players are decided for the Power of Veto competition, the Power of Veto competition is played, the winner has the option to remove one player from the Eviction block, and finally, players vote to Evict one of the two nominees. Lots of new terms. Let's define them: Head of Household - The Head of Household is the player in power for the current Cycle. The Head of Household is given access to the HoH bedroom, where they can see at any time who has access to what parts of the house. The Head of Household can not, however, enter the other bedrooms. The Head of Household's main responsibility is nominating two players for Eviction, and nominating a third replacement nominee should one of the original two come off the block. The Head of Household, under normal circumstances, can not participate in the next Head of Household competition. "On the Block" - "On the block" is slang term for being nominated for eviction. If you are a nominee for eviction, you are said to be "on the block". Power of Veto - After nominations for eviction are placed, six players--the Head of Household, the two nominees, and three players selected at random--will compete for the Power of Veto. Possessing the Veto necklace grants you the opportunity to remove one of the nominees from the block, including yourself. Holding the Veto means that you can also not be put on the block yourself. If the Veto is used, a replacement nominee must be placed on the block, chosen by the HoH under usual circumstances. Have-Nots - The Have and Have-Nots Challenge is typically a reward challenge, but the losers (or players selected by the winners) may become Have-Nots for the week. Have-Nots lose access to the normal bedrooms and must sleep in the Have-Nots Bedroom. They are also only allowed to access two gameplay areas at a time, and are forced to the Backyard during competitions. Being a Have-Not is very bad from a social standpoint because it limits your possibilities tremendously. --- I think that's everything important in that regard. Now, what's all this talk about gameplay areas? There are several Rooms within the house, but not all are accessible by every player. The Living Room and The Memory Wall are accessible by all players, and thus everyone is a part of the conversation there. There are five Bedrooms. The three normal bedrooms, the HoH room, and the Have-Nots room. The HoH and Have-Nots can not access the other four rooms, unless the HoH has invited a Have-Not to the HoH room. Players can switch Bedrooms every third Day, but HoH and Have-Nots must keep their rooms the entire Cycle. The are seven main Gameplay Areas. The Living Room and Memory Wall are accessible to all players at all times. Normal players are given access to three rooms of their choosing every Day. Have-Nots may only enter two. On Challenge Days, one of these rooms MUST be the Backyard. There are three special rooms that must be visited at least once every three days: The Kitchen, The Bathroom, and The Storage Room. Failure to do so will have drastic effects on gameplay. Diary Rooms and Confessionals: Due to the nature of this game PMs are not allowed. Confessionals will occur in the Diary Room. You are free to post threads and whatnot in there for your own benefit, though production will often ask questions of you and you are expected to answer them. Been evicted? If you're early, then you can enjoy the game with the rest of the audience on the sidelines! However, players evicted later will be expected to participate in the Jury and vote in the final decision for a winner. You will be reminded if you fall off the face of the forum. Basically, anybody in the Top 7 is expected to see this thing to the end and cast a vote if they aren't sitting in the final two. Any questions? Ask here! |

The Player's Guide will now be located here. You may also ask basic gameplay questions, of course. |

No, you don't have to do anything. Just selecting the room for the next Day is enough.

I would like to suggest some changes to the game flow effective Day 17, but I want to hear everyone's opinion on these potential changes. Basically, while real life has been in my way, I've also been really wary of Day Change because there's just so much to track and monitor, and while I love fun and complex games, I think, for the sanity of us mods, it's time to start streamlining. So I am proposing the following changes to Gameplay: [*] Removal of required, regular visits to the Kitchen, Bathroom, and Storage Room. These were in place to make you guys change up your Room Choices, but it's a pain to track and monitor and enforce this. It adds a degree of depth, but also a degree of more work for the mods. [*] Shortening of Bedroom stays to one day instead of three. Meaning every day you would choose three (two for Have-Nots) Gameplay Areas and one preferred Bedroom and a backup bedroom. (excluding HoH and Have-Nots). The reasoning for this is that everyone is now changing bedrooms on different schedules, which is another degree of work for the mods to monitor. For us, it's easier to track this way.~ [*] Streamlining of Confessionals. Instead of the mods posting Confessional threads, the HouseGuests would post their own threads, properly titled "Day x - Confessional" containing daily room choices (gameplay and bedroom), HoH invitations, eviction votes, goodbye messages, challenge stuff, and of course, confessionals! I'll post general questions in the Living Room (as well as pertinent information on required room choices and other stuff), but of course, feel free to confess whatever. [*] Promotion of Domino to Super HoH. These are the main changes I am proposing, but it's up to you guys, the players, to decide whether we should go through with these changes. I suppose you guys can take a vote on each individual suggestion here. I love being your host, and I love providing the best game imaginable, but sometimes it can be overwhelming, and if the host isn't happy, well, you get this past week. ![]() But I leave it up to you guys! |

If it means the game flow going back to normal then yeah I'm ok with those changes...they aren't major anyways. Except of course the Domino thing....I propose we kick her out immediately! Also wheres Jackie? |
