★ What is a Cleaner?
♦ A Cleaners is someone who cleans the raw scans of a project. They have to remove most of the dust particles they can find, clean off all text and most of the SFX (The large ones or the hard to redraw/clone ones can be left alone), level the scans so that it will be easier to read and look cleaner. Cleaners have to make sure they do not over-level the scans, they do this by making sure they can still see the gray tones of the manga, and not just black and white. Cleaners also have to set each page into grayscale mode, and resize them to a 1200px height. Cleaners have to have a good amount of knowledge on cloning, and a little bit of redrawing experience. They also have to put 2 page spread pages together, or take them apart (depending on the page).
★ Requirements of a Cleaner at Obsession Scans
In order to be a cleaner at OS (Obsession Scans)
You should have..:
♦ A application to clean.
♦ A basic understanding of cleaning.
♦ The ability to level a scan without losing the gray tones.
♦ An application that offers cloning, and the ability to set a scan in grayscale mode (Black and white mode is the same thing).
♦ You do not have to be experienced. As long as you have an application to clean with it's fine. (Recommended applications are GIMP and Photoshop.)
♦ You also have to have an email which you frequently check, that's how we communicate around here. (Although you can send PM's, Email is preferred)
