"Hey Keesha, wasn't your fur blue last week?" Summer hated that girl's questions, they were prying and intrusive, she'd always find something to ask or complain about. "I'm tired of this question, you know the answer." She hated that girl's voice. It was whiny and annoying, it was as if she perpetually annoyed, upset or complaining about something. "Is a diary really that important?" She hated that girl. That strange, unknown girl had the nerve to attempt, rather successfully, to take over in her absence. She wasn't entirely sure what to even call her due to the fact that she didn't know her species. Until then calling her girl would have to do. "Shut up Ehekatl." She hated Ehekatl Tangier. And... truth be told, she wasn't even sure this was Ehekatl Tangier, she kept saying her name was Ehekatl Rance. And although they looked enough alike, actually, almost exactly alike, she was actually starting to believe her "Geez, I'm just trying to learn more about you." Bullshit, you know enough about me. Keesha Randolf (real name Summer) sat in the backseat of the car as Ehekatl Tangier... Rance?, serving as her driver, ferried her through the ruined city. It'd been some time since the scarlet-furred fox had been in this city. While she was away, the nation to the west, she never bothered remembering what it was called, had invaded and attacked the city and only now was she getting around to returning. That was largely in part to the contents of her office safe: a diary and a quote unquote "blackmail book", among other things. She could recall a decent amount of info from the blackmail bo ok or had it recorded elsewhere, it was the diary that was important to her. Its always hard to replicate the info from a diary, and sometimes it was also good to have on hand. But just imagine if someone else got a look at it, you never want that to happen. As the car passed a plaza, she had faint memories of the place, her office always had a decent view of the place. You know, I've always wondered how many people in that place I could take out with a high-powered rifle. "Stop the car." "Eh?" "Stop the damn car." Summer oppened the driver's side door and slid out of the car and slid out of the car with the grace of a dancer. Now that she was out she finally felt the rain on her fur, it had been raining for quite some time now. Th driver's side window up front rolled down, apparently Ehekatl had something to say. "What are you doing, I get taking a car in case someone's watching an air traffic, but isn't walking a bit much?" Summer tried an innocent smile as a response to that. "I'm not walking, I'm pulling watch. The plaza's a great vantage point not counting the various buildings in the way." she paused "also, if my office has collapsed a dozen or so floors into the building due to artillery fire, I don't want to dig through that. That's your job, there's equipment to help you in the passenger seat." The equipment was a remote to activate a beacon inside the safe, and a device to track the beacon's location, anything else was the responsibility of the searcher. Summer clearly didn't want to do that. "Its like babysitting a child." she mumbled under her breath. She snapped, sparking a bright orange flame and hovering it above her left hand with expert control, regulating both temperature and output to compensate for the rain. "Would you care to repeat that, Ehekatl?" "No, thank you." Rather than snapping her fingers once again, she flicked her fingers and rotated her wrist, putting the flame out with that one motion. With her other hand, she reached into the car and pat Ehekatl on the head. "Good girl, pick me up when you get the diary, and don't bother coming back without it." "I don't appreciate being treated like a domesticated pet." Ehekatl rolled up the window, forcing Summer to pull her hand back to avoid getting it caught. With that, the car departed, leaving Summer alone. She wandered into the plaza, letting the rain soak her fur and drag down on her red hair. This place hadn't changed much except for a hole in the ground nearby Note to self, don't fall in., and the fact that the fountain was no longer running. This is leaving out the bad condition of the surrounding buildings, and other signs of the attack on the city. The ultimate fate of the city meant little to her, she had no vested interest in it beyond the rented office. But still, it had been a nice city before the attack. She jumped onto the ledge surrounding the fountain and began to spin, since she ditched Ehekatl so she could be "on watch", she had some time to herself to do whatever she wanted until the girl came back with the diary.. |

"You'll be famous for this, Kim." The voice echoed throughout his head. His was completely blank of everything outside as it went through the memories of an all too recent past. The room was white as if extending for miles in every direction, In the center was two men. One seated behind a large dark mahogany, a large built snakelike in appearance man who sipped on a mug of...something as he sifted through a small pile of papers. The other man could simply sigh speaking up soon after. "I don't want fame, Gregory." The feling spoke with an almost cutting tone. He wasn't a very tall man, Standing at only five-seven. His midnight black fur and unnaturally glowing neon Yellow eyes though, would more than make up for the lack in intimidation that his stature had given him. "Oh, but I do. And this is just what needs to be done." "I can't win against her." "You're my best man Kim. I'll give you whatever it takes. Kill Keesha Randolph." He could only frown in annoyance as he stood there, watching as the fatass behind the desk ruffled through the drawer, pulling from it a somewhat coffee stained brown file folder and throwing it onto the desk, a few photos spilling out from within, His eyes catching onto one in particular as he reached out, grabbing it from among the pile as he sat back into a chair behind him. "Keesha Randolph....." The white space of the inside began to blur away, everything falling away piece by piece like sand through a sieve leaving only him sitting there sittin in ablack void, looking to the photo that was in his hand. Keesha Randolph, The person he was supposed to kill. He let out a simple sigh and closed his eyes, crushing the photo as he simply remained. "Reaching Return point, Fourty five minutes." A loud voice echoed throughout the interior of the chopper, Spurring Kim into a state of attention as he reopened his eyes, Looking down to the crushed photo for a brief moment before simply throwing it off to the side and out the open door where it would slowly float down to the ground. It was that act though, that had brought the abandoned city scape they were approaching to his attention. It was the city of Haval. The site of a battle during a war several years back that had seen it abandoned. Between the gas attacks, artillery fire, and one or two bombings, it was left too damaged than was economically viable to repair so it was left abandoned and unwanted. It seemed that today it was going to be the set of another battle. It would be, if intelligence reports were right about this. If they weren't it'd just be a routine job. He let out a soft sigh. Reflecting back on the meeting once more. Though he had been offered just about any resources he wouild need for this job. He declined, only asking for a few small things to make this go smoother. Bringing a force with him would probably end with more casualities than necesary. Or his target trying to escape anyway. Or so he figured anyway. He took his eyes off the city limits as they began to go over them, looking to the front of the chopper where his two pilots sat. "How much time did you say we had left?" "Thirty five minutes now if we don't put this bird down somewhere soon." "All righty then." Off to the side he reached into a bag and pulled out what would appear to have been some sort of laptop like device. On his lap he pried it open and simply watched as it automatically began to power on. In under a minute it was fully powered on and ready, a real time satellite image of the city area. The computer, or whatever it was hooked up to, immediately got to work scanning over the area. Within a moment it zoomed in on one thing and one thing only. A car parked near the edge of the city Plaza, a person getting out and soon after the vehicle departing. "Take me to the town Plaza. Have them keep track of that car." "Aye sir." As if on command the chopper made a hard left, almost going completely sideways as it started on a beeline straight towards the Plaza. Within moments the entire plaza had come into visual range and as if taking this on cue, Kim had stood to his feet and moved over to the open door as the chopper began its final descent and the second it touched down he stepped off and onto the hard concrete that had made up the plaza ground with an audible clack. With a turn of his head he looked back to the chopper, watching as as quickly as it had landed it had taken off and was on its way elsewhere. All that left was he himself, the other, the plaza, and the rain that fell down upon his head and was beginning to soak into both his fur and the black . Not that he really cared about it. Looking back ahead of him and towards the fountain that was from his estimate, a good twenty-five meters away, stood a female atop a portion of the fountain itself. A scarlet furred fox armed with a sword. It looked like the reports were right. To an extent. He hand found itself resting on the pommel of the curved blade sheathed at his hip. "Keesha Randolph?" As Summer spun and danced, the sound of a chopper could faintly be heard over the wind and rain. It took several roations, but she finally made out what appeared to be a classic black helicopter touching down. A transport, now this should prove rather interesting. Another rotation, a dark-furred feline was disembarking from the chopper, she wasn't expecting any company other than Ehekatl so it was likely an assassin. "What have we here..." she said quietly to herself. Another rotation, the chopper was gone as if she were living life through still frames. But the feline remained through subsequent spins. "Keesha Randolf?" he asked, ready to draw his blade, as if to verify her identity before killing her. He knows who I am... now this should be fun. She stopped her spin, creating a gun with the fingers of her right hand in a dramatic fashion and pointed it at him, adjusting her aim a few inches so that she'd be aiming at his head. "Bang." She always liked a good showy gesture. But that wasn't too showy. Summer stepped backwards along the rim of the fountain, careful not to fall off. Then with a few forward steps, she pushed her momentum into a cartwheel and did a handspring off the edge of the fountain and landed with a thud on hard cement. Now that she reasoned, was showy... well enough to satisify her at least. She carefully flicked the fingers of her right hand, making sure she was ready to draw the sword from its scabbard on her back if she needed to. "Now then, down to business. Who do you work for, so I know who to go after once I kill you." |

A soft chuckle escaped from his lips, followed moments after by a deep sigh as he gave his head slow shake side to side before focusing that piercing gaze of his back to Keesha. It would seem that she seemed to enjoy gestures of bravado and bold threats. That however, did tell him what he needed to know, there was no more need to confirm the indentity if the person standing before him anymore, but even knowing who she was he hadn't made a single move, instead greeting her question with a solid though intense glare from under his hood. Silence though, couldn't remain forever. "I'll tell you straight to your face after I'm done here." Rasing up his left foot slightly he took a single step forward, the hand that had once been on the pommel of his sword sliding off and down the length of the hilt, coming to a stop as it came into contact with the guard. "However, I should probably introduce myself." He spoke in a oddly softer tone as he reached up for the hood. With a soft tug he pulled it down, revealing the entirety of his face and head. After that he reached his hand up to the sky, and gave a simple snap of the fingers. From that it was like time itself had began to cease, for both. The rain that fell around Kim had begun to come to a halt and soon the same would go for Keesha who stood a ways away. Before long it was like the two of them were standing within a photograph as the only two moving things. All around the two the rain was halted, droplets hovering mid air, the small splashes along the concrete surface of the plaza and even off their own bodies remaining remaining frozen in place. This was his own show of bravado. Lowering his free hand back down he cleared his throat to speak. "My name is Leftenant Chase Kimberly. It's a pleasure to meet you, Rainbow." He spoke somewhat softly with a smile that, given his fur colour, stood out from his fur in a relatively unnerving way. Edited by Kaz, Feb 11 2012, 04:13 PM.

"My name is Leftenant Chase Kimberly. It's a pleasure to meet you, Rainbow." Mild surprise at that, but her true surprise was at the water elemental abilities this assassin possessed. This is slightly unsettling. Absent-mindedly Summer pulled a deck of cards out of her pocket and began to shuffle them. "Rainbow... its been awhile since I've been called that..." The top card was drawn, a ace of spades. "Your loose lips just narrowed down the list of potential employers, quite the amateur move on your part." A smile, she flipped the ace in his direction, as if what card she had drawn actually meant something in the grand scheme of things. But whoever this assassin was, she wanted him gone now. But then there was the issue with not knowing who exactly had sent him to try and kill her or how they knew she would be there. In addition, his abilities contrasted her own, it made her uneasy. This whole situation was wrong in some way she couldn't quite place her finger on. With her other hand, she pulled a handheld radio out of her pocket and spoke into it, coming up with a false name for Ehekatl on the spot to mislead anyone else who might be listening. "Hey Katty, take your time, no rush. I've found something to keep myself occupied with, so don't bother me either." Summer had subtly used the tone and phrasing to inform Ehekatl what was happening and why she was being called Katty, apparently Ehekatl had some intense dislike of such nicknames, one that she usually respected. "Okay, now we're alone here, but I was sorta hoping being recorded as dead would cover me longer. I guess not, so what the hell, lets do this." She replaced the radio in her pocket and incinerated the deck of cards with a snap of her fingers, keeping the tempermental flame in place with her hand, ready to fight. |
