Weaponry Here in OPNW, every weapon that is used for any given character is categorized into a rank. Reason is to set a balance to prevent players from registering weapons of a high caliber for RPCs that are verily beginning their adventure at sea. For price information on weapon upgrades or weapon purchases of any given rank just read theUpgrading Information topic. Weapon Rank
[*]Kyouki [Dangerous Weapon]: Kyouki ranked weapons are weapons that are much stronger than Kyouretsuheiki weapons. Weapons on this level usually possess a unique ability or either reign in terms of power. Set the weapon below as an example: [*]Kyouretsuheiki [Strong Weapon]: Kyouretsuheiki ranked weapons are weapons that are much stronger than Kannouheik weapons. Weapons on this level are enhanced in a unique particular way. Set the weapon below as an example: [*]Kannouheiki [Proficient Weapon]: Kannouheiki ranked weapons are a step up from Goushikiheiki. Weapons on this level don't have incredible abilities, but they're of good quality and powerful. See the weapon below as an example: [*]Goushikiheiki [Regular Weapon]: Goushikiheiki ranked weapons are regular weapons such as a katana, flintlock (rifle, handgun), tonfa, tessen, and basically any weapon that is not out of the extraordinary.[/list] Character Creation Starting characters are allowed 5,000,000 worth of weapons for free on start up. This money is applies to any and all weaponry upon start up, including projectiles. Any unused amount of money from this initial 5,000,000 is lost forever, meaning you can’t keep the remainder. If the weapon you’re getting on start up is more than 5,000,000 you subtract the 5 million from that price and then pay that. The amount and rank of the weapons are completely up to you, so long as it’s worth below 5 million or you’re prepared to pay the remainder. This rule does not apply to cyborg weapons, for they have their own free start up weapons depending upon their trait. All PCs/NPCs that are not human should list the natural weapons they have under the weaponry template. This includes beasts and monsters NPCs. Weapon and their durability tier Every weapon ranks has a maximum durability tier. Goushikiheiki [Regular Weapon] Rank can have a maximum durability of T5. Kannouheiki [Proficient Weapon] Rank can have a maximum durability of T4. Kyouretsuheiki [Strong Weapon] Rank can have a maximum durability of T3. Kyouki [Dangerous Weapon] Rank can have a maximum durability of T2. Saishuuheiki [Ultimate Weapon] Rank have a maximum durability of T1, but can be upgraded to either be pure Seastone or mimic seastone durability for 25 points. Range Weapons Looting Weapons There are some rules about looting weapons. You can only loot weapons from NPCs, looting them from PCs should have the permission of the owner since it is their character losing a weapon. Also if you loot from an NPC, it can only be Goushikiheiki [Regular Weapon] rank weapon and is only temporary. Meaning the weapon can only be used in RP and cannot be carried to the next thread unless the character wanted to pay for it. If you wish to pay for the weapon, then it can be any weapon rank as long as you already made a modification thread about the weapon in question. Kairoseki Kairoseki, or it’s more common name, Seastone, is a rare, naturally occurring element that is often used by the marines (though pirates and other factions can gain access to this material, just at greater difficulty). Seastone is known to be one of the hardest materials on the planet, stronger than that of diamond, making it ideal for thing that should not be broken, such as cuffs. The stone emanates the energy of the sea, and when placed upon the bottom of ships, can render them undetectable to the terrors of the ocean, such as the seakings that stalk the ocean. Note thought that this does not make your ship invisible to them. They’re just much less likely to attack you. Kairoseki’s most notable ability though, is the ability to render a Devil Fruit user powerless, stripping them of their abilities and sapping their strength on contact. The amount of seastone determines its strength draining ability, with small amounts, such as cuffs, still allowing the person to walk around. Being completely covered in the stuff will render them weak. No matter the amount, direct contact with seastone will always cancel out a Devil Fruit user’s abilities, preventing them from using them until contact is broken. In terms of clothing, if those clothes are in any way affected by a person’s Devil Fruit (such as a logia’s clothing turning into their element, or some other effect), they will provide no protection against seastone. However, if the clothing is unaffected by the fruit’s abilities, then direct skin contact would be required. Perks & Pricing Of course, each weapon has a perk. A perk can be anything that actually describes it: it can from sharpness to mystical powers. These perks, in short, are what makes your weapon unique and definitive, and they are... well, your entire weapon as a whole... ... but it is also those perks that define how much your weapon will truly cost. Fear not, however! We have a list of them just for that specific occasion! Feel free, if you ever need to, to head on over to the Upgrading / Pricing Information thread in the Modification section to give yourself a proper price for your weapon. Additionally, you can find examples of priced items in the Pricing Information (Set Prices) thread so you can have a more proper idea of the weapon or item you are creating.
