The red morning sun barely half way shown yet the Island of Cinemia was in full wake. The people were out and about like it was a festival in full swing. People were fighting and shouting lines like the street as a stage. The rush of Cinemia told about was no doubt true in all its nature. The wind held an enticing feel to it. This was no play to come and want to rest or lazy about. Alex smiles taking in the sights and sounds the island that is Cinemia had to offer. Something as small as walking through the streets gave the trill of being a possible extra in a movie. It was all about being the center of attention here for these people. Even on the streets you could see and hear the people practicing to be put into a movie. whether it was coming from the homes or the roads it could just about all be sen from the streets. Alex was enjoying Cinemia to no end until he heard a faint scream. Faint or not it was irritating to hear, fast paced foot steps going across the high levels. Alex was starting to get on high-alert. If it was not for the possible fact it could just be a movie being made. He would have been following the sound by now. Though this was Cinemia he was on. Alex choose to ignore it for now. He had other things to do like see what kind of stuff they had to eat. |

Megan's eyes closed as she peered out the window and was greeted with the morning sun that warmed her face and caused her to take a deep breath through the nose. Exhaling with a smile she turned and finished preparing for the day. Today was a day she hoped was unlike the others -- because she'd been stationed here for a while and hadn't had much of a chance to actually train as opposed to constantly providing medical aid to any wounded (or for the most part, sick) comrades. Yesterday was the last day of her official service schedule here. She pulled on the Marine overcoat that covered her simple black vest, mesh underlay and leggings before combing a hand through her hair and stepping out the door into yet another random day here on Cinemia. She still had a small amount of time before she actually had to get to the Marine Command center and was stopped by the scene of two men riding horses -- horses! -- down the street, both trying to kick the other off their mounts. That was dangerous stuff, for around seven in the morning. Elsewhere there were people walking up and down the street with bits of paper in their hands rehearsing lines practically with their eyes closed, oblivious of their surroundings. Two such people actually bumped into each other and continued on their way as if nothing happened. Sighing, Megan turned in the vague direction of the Command center and began walking -- she was due there in about half an hour and it took 15 minutes to walk down the movie-reel-looking street to get there. She had time to look around, as she looked back to see one of the cowboys get kicked off his horse and land, cursing loudly and obviously unharmed. Actors. |

The Island known for the whole "Lights, Camera, Action!" Saying seemed like it had no damn place for food or drinks. Maybe it was just in the wrong part of the Island of Cinemia. Alex figured it was time start using his nose if he was expecting to find some food. The air in the area was sweet smelling candy, soda, and popcorn. It was either a group having a movie night or it was a theater. The fox was hoping for the scent to be from a theater. A theater meant food and drinks, Alex turned down an ally-way following the scent. Alex looked ahead to a group of cameramen. The look on their face said that some has or had gone down. The cameras were no doubt capturing whatever they were their for. The fox stomach now forgotten, his interest was peaked. Alex jogged up to the cameramen and turn to see what was the big deal. Alex was in for a shock a closed down house had been marked. White bones crossed with a skull over it. Pirates or Pirates supporters did this, on an island that publicly supports the Marines. Who ever did this was likely to be hunted down like a pirate. Alex turned away and begin heading west. Forgot food and a drink he wanted answers was that real or just part of a movie being made. The Marine center was going to know about it if they didn't all really when he got there. Alex was now focused on his job the Marine center had to be on this soon as possible if it was real. Joke or not Alex wanted to take his career seriously, Marines might have been more of a joke from his time on his town island but he was going to not let it be on another if he could help it. The people on the streets were talking of going out for breakfast. The scent of alcohol and sneak were about the area, though all was over looked by Alex. The fox was gripping the bow on his back he was worrying that the 1st island he had set foot on aside from his own was already becoming lost to Marine protection. Alex walked fast moving through the crowd in a rushed yet composed manner. He could bare coming to grips that this island may already be a target for pirates to remove marine forces. |

As Megan was walking along the film-reel street a young girl ran up to her, holding out a basket of what appeared to be apples, food. She was the shy type and as Megan slowed and crouched to greet her, the girl in little blonde pigtails and huge brown eyes came to a halt in front of her, holding out the basket. "Thank you very much Ms. Protector." she said, proffering the basket as Megan smiled and reached out not to grab it, but, to stroke the girls' hair and impart some older, feminine wisdom into her. Girls are a vulnerable creature in the world and every lady had to do her part. But before she could do this, there was applause behind the girl. Looking up, Megan saw what was clearly the girls' parents clapping. "Bravo, bravo!!" said the mustachioed father in his t shirt, pants and sandals -- very plain looking, unlike his dressed-up daughter. "A top-class performance! Your grandmother would be so proud -- lets hurry so she can have her lunch!!" he said, winking at Megan in a friendly manner, the young girl skipping off with the basket of food to her dad. Megan sighed. So, the girl had been rehearsing some role after all. Well, Megan was just a doctor -- she was no storied Captain, or Admiral-class Marine. That girl would have positively fawned if she had been. Even Lieutenants and Commanders got smiles from civilians everywhere for who they were. Standing back up off her crouch she took a look at one of the movie-prop-like clocktowers dotting this town. She had ten minutes to get to the base. Hurrying, she began to make her way directly there, brushing past people in her rush as the streets became more crowded. She hoped she wasn't due for any more rehearsals. |

The scent of food was starting to get to Alex a bit. He felt like he had been on the island for a day now. Though looking at the sun it was barely an hour maybe it would be better to get some food to go from around here. Unfortunately the pirate sign seemed like too much of a real threat. "Would it be alright if I went after them my self or would they be stronger then me?" Alex thought to himself. Alex wanted to take action now but he might not be ready. Handling Bandits and simple animals was fine but he was not sure how strong the person or people who did this were. Not even anyway to know how many their were. "Did you hear about the pirate markings on the closed storage house?" Alex ears shot up on high alert hearing this. "What kind of person wants to get into trouble with the marines? The island is nearly covered with them, ships come and go to the point the numbers rarely drop below 10% of the population being marines." replied the young man on the left. Spotting the 2 men talking about the subject. Alex walked up behind them before speaking up "What do you know about the pirate marking?". The 2 men stiffened up upon hearing a new voice. They stopped and turn to face the auburn fox. "A beastmen! Are you trying to break into the movies too?". Alex looked at the man with a questioning look before shaking his head. "I have no interest in being in movies. I just want to know what you know about the Pirate sign on that house back east." Alex was getting a bit annoyed. The man to the right stepped forward a bit "I heard its been happening all around the island. The same pirate sign has been put on all the closed Marine storage houses. The guards on them are normally found knocked out via differing means.". Alex eyes went wide their were more then a few. It might be a full on pirate crew formed and based right on the very island. Alex backed away and moved to the right before taking off running down the street. Seeing a box of crates being set down on the side of a building Alex starts picking up the pace. He jumps on the crates and jumps off in near the same time he jumped on. He grabbed at the second story window ledge and pulls himself up. Climbing high enough to get his feet on the ledge Alex one foot on the upper part of the window. Pushing up with his foot and pulling himself a bit high he grabs at a metal wall hanged stair case with one hand. Alex pulls at it to see if it shacks to his surprise it was not he grabs at it with his hand and lets the rest of his body hang. Alex starts pulling himself up by the stair railing Alex climbs over the railing finally back on his 2 feet. Alex begins walking up the rest of the way to the top. If he had taken the streets with how crowded they were becoming it might have taken him near an hour to get to the base. He needed to get to the base and get his gear. He had to catch a ride on one of his mom's shipment boats just to get here. The roof would take half an hour by walking though him running would cut the time in half to maybe 15 minutes. Alex needed to get his marine jacket and his own ship to get to the places he would be assigned but he also needed some time to think. The young fox choose to walk. Megan found herself trotting past people with how busy the street was getting, and that trotting almost turned to darting in between pedestrians here. The wide open spaces were more often than not movie sets of some kind, with some even being carried on a host of shoulders to their spots now. Megan kept up her half-running march through the growing sea of people here as she turned into a side alley with a street adjacent to hers. The sun was a little less red, and somewhat higher in the skies now as it basked her from the neck up in light between the buildings. There was a white sign, or mark of some kind, etched on the wall of the alley. It wasn't anything too complex -- a white skull over two crossed bones -- but it was surprising to see here on such an entertainingly neutral Island that in truth was under full Marine control. She had never liked the Pirates she'd come across. They were constantly committing crimes and getting in the way of the World Government and its' goal of total peace. So seeing their brand on the wall here irked her. She continued onto the next street and in her rush hurried past what looked like a blue-robed sorcerer with a very long, tweed mustache-and-beard set and very wide, thin eyes that gleamed as he passed. The sorcerer whirled out a clear crystal ball, but she didn't have the chance to see any more as she turned back and spotted the Marine base there, at the corner of the street opposite the courthouse. Between her and that were a quartet of athletic-looking individuals, having what appeared to be a game of tennis between them and running down the street as they did so. What kind of role is that for, I wonder. At least the sorcerer was in his element. she mused to herself as they ran past her, shooting the ball back and forth as they passed with their racquets as she continued on down the street and stopped in front of the Marine base there. It was a mid-sized, dome roofed structure of white and blue cement and white brick. She took a look at the pyramid-roofed, almost church-like squared base and then opened the tall doors to step inside. |

Being on the roofs of the buildings really gave a feeling of being able to breath. Being raised on a peaceful island made Alex think he didn't know what pressure really was. The only thing he really know of real battle was what his instincts told him. 1 Survive, 2 be cunning, 3 defend your self, and 4 leave nothing alive that threats your life. The skills he knows are basic tracking and hiding. What the fuck is that going to do to someone who can know that they are being followed. He was here for marine level training, The rules he was told was be fast and be accurate if you want to make it anywhere in the Marines. Alex was pulled out of his thoughts when he noticed he was coming to a gap in between building. It was a much shorter distance then jumping through trees on his home island. It would be more like taking a leap then a jump to him so Alex leaped over the gap onto the text building. From the looks of it the building he was on was an interlocking building. A walk way to go from one 2nd floor of the building to another. Whatever the building was it was still being worked on. He never even got to become a marksmen like he intended to before leaving home. He was sure he had what it takes but he mother and father would not be around to see him grow into it. The Marine building was finally coming into view. It was time for Alex to pull out of his thoughts and focus back on his job and start on his road to becoming a marksmen like his father. A light breeze had started blow on his back. Alex took this as a sign that he was meant for marines. His home town would change cause of his actions. He would make it his mission to create a Marine fortress and allow those on his island to show their support for the marine without fear of believing the pirate supports would attack them for the difference in their views. Alex was at the end of his walk to the marine base. Standing on the roof across from it the base gave a sense of justice. It was what he knew the marines put their lives on the line for. He was no longer going to be a marine wannabe. He was going to be a marine, Alex jumped down from the roof and walked toward the base one of many he would call a 2nd home. Alex the Marine was here and he was not going to leave for long time to come. The new Ensign walked through the doors and gates of his future were open. |

Unbeknownst to both Megan and Alex, they in fact were tasked with the same meeting, and soon to be the same mission. Megan was actually walking slightly ahead of Alex down the polished white floored hallway and towards the briefing room -- Briefing Room XII to be exact. Passing various statues and props for Marine uniforms, crossed swords and shields along the walls she walked at a brisk pace towards her destination. She was somewhat familiar with the layout of the Base here, she had reviewed the pamphlet she got when she'd arrived on this Island. She took a left, then went another few doors down. There it was, Briefing Room XII. She opened the thick double oaken doors slowly and stepped inside where she was greeted with an abnormally large room. It was like a classroom but the desks were in a semicircle and stopped well before the front of the room itself. The walls were lined with both books and weapons. The front of the room had a blackboard and a very gaunt-looking Marine standing in front of it. "You move like you've got a serious problem so, on your feet and march with me now a hut ... hut and hut ... huh and .." the officer barked at Megan and Alex as they entered as with a wave of his hand a line of tables and chairs were battered to the side, almost to where Megan was standing. "This Island has some serious problems and none of us can afford to doddle, so now is the time for you to ask me any questions you have on this island, your mission, and combat. I'm supposed to be your instructor for the time being and so thats what I'll do." he said as he clasped his hands behind his back. He looked quite frail, Marine cap on and clothes hanging off of him like a clothes hanger, a white suit and black tie under the Marine coat. But he clearly had some form of inhuman power. "You can train us? Can you tell us about a pirate marking I saw?" Megan asked, stepping forwards and into the column of separated desks. The gaunt Marine nodded. "Yes, you'll learn a thing or two today before I send you out to fight the Pirates cheekily claiming territory here. The two bones and skull is a fairly common symbol actually used on a number of islands now. But if we let it spread here too then it goes to show that we don't have the control we do have, in fact. Yes, I know of these Pirates." he said, nodding to Megan. |

Alex was glad the marines knew of the markings but there was still a problem for him. He needed training, his gear, and maybe a stronger weapon. If these pirates were on another level then he was going to need some training or knowledge of the island. "I am glad to know that the base is aware of this threat but I have a few problems before we are sent to deal with some of the pirates. I still need my marine clothing. I was told it would be given to from the marine base I would be assigned to. Also I would like to get in some practice I had not gotten to practice my bow during my trip or since I got here. I am Alex also I was ranked as Ensign.". "I was told of you Alex." the frail looking marine noticed the look of surprise on the fox's face and decided to explain. "As it stands now very few beastmen join the marines. To be honest you are the first one I recall hearing join so congratulations you may be the first beastman to join us. Also I have your gear I will give it to you after I am done explaining the pirate markings around here.". The marine a walked across to the other side of the board. "The pirate sign have been known to show up on multiple islands as of late. We are not yet sure on which island it started on but we know it was reported on multiple islands all around the same time, Though all the earliest reported signs are all throughout the west seas. I will admit it was rumored to come from the east blues before making west blue its home." Alex was not liking the thought that this may have been started in his own blue. Alex knew one thing about rumors if nothing else. In all the rumors there is ALWAYS going to be some pieces of truth. Everything needs an origin and rumor are far from an exception in any count. Alex could not tell exactly tell how Megan was feeling about it but her balled up hand acting as a clinching fist gave some insight to how she felt. |

The old wiry Marine looked them over, either sizing them up or telepathically scanning them by the expression he had on. Megan was still making her way to one of the desks at the front of the room as she listened to Alex with a fair measure of surprise, taking a glance back and noticing for the first time both he and his ears. That was interesting, but why were they both here? To train for a mission? To simply learn, be briefed? "This is actually some sort of invasion? Or are they just putting their mark up everywhere they go?" Megan asked, disconcerted by the news of the pirates' migration from the east to the west blue. She stood to attention by her desk at the front now as the Marine sighed, his shoulders coming up and down sharply. "They share some sort of ideal with the rebel cause we've seen spreading around the world as of late. They tout the pursuit of freedom as a goal, but in truth freedom can never condone criminal activity. And the black market has been booming recently." he told them as he took out a piece of chalk and went up to the blackboard and then drew a square on it, turning to face them again. "And so here we'll be doing raids of suspected locations in which we believe black market activity to be taking place. Alex the Beastman and Megan the Doctor -- what experience do you have at infiltration? Its a very important skill and something I think you'll need -- doctor or not." he said, eyes flickering from Megan back to Alex. "Now, simple. We'll start simple. This square is a house." he said, pointing to the one he'd drawn on the blackboard. "And this house has one front entrance, a back entrance, and four occupants. Hoarding, shall we call it, treasure. There's you two and up to two others -- you have to apprehend the lot and obtain black market goods for evidence -- how do you proceed!?" he asked, voice straining as he coughed and head swiveled to Alex, eyes wide. "Do these people have guns?" Megan asked, thinking about getting one herself. "No. Swords and knives. Calm, local hideout." |

No guns. Just swords an knives. From that stand point Alex might have an advantage with his bow. The problem comes from the fact that he still need to practice his bow. "The reason you are here is to help with this problem. You will be briefed, trained and instructed on anything you may not be aware of. By the time you leave this island you will at least be knowledgeable what is expected of you. You will be supplied with a boat, rations, and a baby den den mushi for both of you all before you leave this island." Alex and Megan nodded at the instructor's words. "They have at least 10 known hideouts on the island. They have tried ordering guns from off island cause we can track guns brought on the island. Either through stores or dealers we know who sells what and where. We had to cut a lot of the dealers a deal of their own. Since some people on the island cannot buy guns or some other weapons cause of past charges going under the law. Standard merchants prefer not to serve them or jack up the prices." The marine instructor began pacing about the room looking for something. "When I find the map and record of the bases I will explain exactly what is needed for you to know. We have to make sure you are up to date. We are a bit behind on assigning this mission to the rest of you. 5 of the bases have been taken out already by others. We hope that you can help finish the job." The instructor had found what he was looking for. He begin pulling out Marine clothing. A Marine cap and the Ensign jacket. Alex was eying the cloths as much as he could. "I did not want to forget about these put on the jacket or the cap when doing assigned work it will let others know you are on duty. It will also make it easier to keep track of you.". Edited by Sozin, Sep 4 2014, 12:58 AM.

The way the weary Marine put it, there wasn't any real invasion happening here more than a simple matter of the gun business running amok here. This wasn't exactly a job well-suited for a doctor. But, truth be told she'd been told that more was now expected of her by her last commanding officer, and she took this seriously enough to start thinking about weapons as the gaunt and strained-looking Marine ahead briefed them. It wasn't so bad, though. Half the enemy bases here had been pacified. She took one of the Marine caps he handed her, put it on and twisted it to the side very slightly, frowning as the hair from her bangs was pushed over her eyes a bit. She had to brush it to either side and at the moment she raised both hands to do so a question came to mind. "Is it the two of us finding and destroying those bases?" she asked, wondering if she should ask him for a firearm anyways. "I have one fights' worth of experience, and that was a mad patient." she told him, more as a warning as to her inexperience fighting enemies in bases. Great natural talent -- those were the words the Commander had said of her when she'd listened to the meeting about her transfer here. So this was to be her training to become the worlds' finest doctor? She took a look at Alex up and down, then back to the Marine trainer. He looked more like a fighter, and maybe she'd be his backup. She hoped so. |

Alex took off his Auburn trench coat and unfolded his white Ensign jacket. He had got his marine gear Alex could not hold back a smile from coming to his face. Just like other Ensigns were known to do he set his jacket on his shoulders making it act more as a cape then a jacket. It went just past his waist allowing his tail to now be seen. Alex felt a lot more alert now that his tail was not covered. He even felt a bit free and relaxed. "Now the briefing is done we can move on to the training area. I will explain the map after you are trained an equipped correctly." said the Marine trainer as he walked out the door. Alex and Megan followed closes behind him. The Marine instructor walked in a brisk pace forcing Alex and Megan to try and keep close. The base was so cold that it would be fitting to call it chilly. Foot steps of different people and cart could be heard through out the hall. Carts being pushed through a lot of the halls intersections up ahead. All the marines were wearing both cap and jackets in these halls. The look of focus they seem to have made it seem as if the base was in full activity over this pirate base problem on the island. Though it could be more then that with the rush going through the halls. The farther they got the colder it got it sent a shiver up Alex's spine. Alex looked back at Megan though she didn't seem bothered by it. Turning his attention back ahead he started to see marines carrying around weapons; sword, firearms, poles, maces, and the like. Alex started to think they were getting close to the training area. Alex notice one marine stood out among the others to him. A women with a bow in hand and a quiver of arrows. The Bow was an aquamarine colored gem. A real bow made of a gem, that was something Alex never thought possible. The closer they got to the women the more Alex could make out the arrows he focused his eyes on the arrows as much as he could when he notice they were nearing the end of the halls. Then he saw it arrows made of Sea-Stones it looked like pure Sea Stones. Alex eying of the women went to the right of the hall and turned off from his sight. Alex nearly missed the fact the instructor was turning left one hall short of the path the women took. "The door at the end of the hall is going to be your training room unless I instruct otherwise. While using this room you will have access to Regular and Proficient weapons only. The rest of the weapon grade are reserved for high grade units. All the Ammo you will need will be here. It is restocked every 12 hours I expect you to gain as much experience as you can from the resources the World Government supplies. We train our people to make sure the peace is kept and Pirates do not get out of hand." Room J-15 was the training room. It was time for Alex to see if he still had his hunting skills or would he have to regain them. |

Megan and Alex having been briefed, they were briskly walked out of the room following their instructor through the chilly base that was brushing what felt like frost along her body. But she'd learned that not shivering at all and simply allowing herself to feel the cold worked too. They continued along at their crisp pace but the exercise didn't seem to make the cold around her any better. In fact, it was only getting chillier. However what she did spot was a doctor with a bandolier of medical equipment strapped around his chest and what appeared to be a prehensile metallic scorpions' tail attached to his backside and half-hidden by his medical coat as he passed across Megans' path and continued on his way, tail tip extending into a tripod claw and clacking almost irritably. The medic himself had a metallic mouthpiece covering him and very dark red eyes, almost catlike. The medical bandolier had many of the tools she had, and then far more. It was like seeing herself sometime in the future. But then and there, she vowed not only to meet that doctor again but outdo his fashion in the moment as well. She turned with the instructor down the last hall with the room J-15 at the end and nodded to the instructor. "Okay." was all she said to him as she turned and went towards the door not knowing what to say. I don't really know how to use weapons? I've only sparred a few times? She'd decided to keep her mouth shut, but she was not less worried about the outcome now. She grabbed the door of J-15 and pulled it open, then stepped inside. |

Alex begin to follow Megan into J-15 until the instructor called out. "I will return in about 2 and a half hours that should give you enough time to get in some level of training. We will go over the map then." Alex nodded at the man before walking in and closing the door behind him. Once inside of the training room. Alex knew why it was so cold back here. The training field was big as hell it was a big square from the looks of it. Cover those lengths for training was going to make people sweat. If its cold then they should need less water breaks. The field could have blockers and tables raised to give more experience handling enemies from cover. Though it could also be for running stealth. Alex turned to look at the wall near the door. At least 15 meters of wall on each side of the door was lined with weapons and the ammo sat in boxes below the wall. Above the door was measurements for the field. Alex eyes went eye when he say that it said the field was 100 meter standard. 92 meters of field for battle training and 8 meters between the gated in field and the walls. It was incredible but then it came to Alex there had to be a system to manipulate the field. A 92 meter field just had to have a system more so if only 2 people would be using it. "Um...
