Karate Island always had a magnificent vibe about it, as the presence of so many dojo's as well as hot blooded people just itching to challenge one to a fight, there's not much else that is quite so entertaining. It's probably why Ashara chose this place for her little leisurely retreat, since it wasn't apart of the blues she was supposed to be looking after, and she could get away with having as much fun as she could. Here, while she was off duty and dressed to impress, the worries and threats of pirates and other troublemakers were hardly on her mind, as she was merely here to relax and hopefully have a good time. Her choice of venue was a pretty quaint looking bar that housed all sorts of people, but generally had a good atmosphere about it. The woman was nursing her third Malibu and Cola rum mix as she relaxed, finding it rather amusing that the restaurant just opposite this place looked like a hurricane had hit it, something made even more amusing when it's name was called 'The Gentle Storm'. With her mind slowly becoming buzzed and aflutter, the woman looked around to take note of the various groups of people, all doing their own thing, some of which were gambling, while the others were recalling raunchy tales that she could care less about. She had gotten more than a few gawks and stares, but none so far had attempted to talk to her, most likely because they were too intimidated to attempt it, what a bunch of losers. "Man, how boring~ I wish there was someone out there that wasn't a coward", She complained, resting her face in her palm as she looked on in dismay. |

Being the oblivious man that Dillon was, and the absurd mood that he was in, Dillon had wandered into the bar right next to the cafe that he had harmed violently just a day earlier. Clearly not caring of the fact that he technically kidnapped the waitress of The Gentle Storm. He sat next to this strange woman staring strangely at the crowds and did not necessarily care for this woman. He signaled the bartender over and his eyes wandered to what the woman was drinking because he himself was unsure on the many mixes across the universe as Bijotsu's richest had liquor but no... Real guides for mixing. "I'll have what the lady next to me is having." Dillon said as he tapped his fingers on the counter, the bartender mixed his drink for him and set it in front of him. Malibu and Cola. He took a sip and and instantly was not too keen on the taste of it, but he ordered it so he would finish it. He coughed and looked over to the strange woman to his left. "So. Why are you so angry, you look angry." He said poking and prodding on the topic. Dillon was taking some time off, trying to think of the direction the family should be taking, thus he needed some time away from the kids so that he could think. He needed the necessary beli to get them a ship so they could travel better... Best place would probably be Island of the Moon like Lancia wanted, but he had to think a bit harder on the safety of this plan. |

The woman swirled the remainder of the drink in her glass before swigging it down, being egged on by sheer frustration over how gutless these people were. Sure, half these people were martial artists that had challenged her earlier and lost brutally, but still! this was a place to have fun and relax. At the very least, the drink she was drowning her sorrows away with happened to be quite good, and since it was the only good thing here, she couldn't help but order another glass. By now, she could sort of feel the effects of the alcohol, but being a rather resilient woman, she held onto her wits a little while longer. Just then, when it seemed like she was about ready to write off the residents of Karate Island as cowardly children, a peculiar looking man with a fancy hat sat by her table, rousing a curious stare from the woman in blue. He seemed dishevelled, and a somewhat older, but it was his fearless demeanour that intrigued her the most. The woman couldn't help but blink profusely as the man asked for the same drink she had, though he would probably regret that soon since hers was more of a woman's drink anyway. Hearing that first cough, she muffled a tiny giggle as she was proved right, and continued to stare at the man without making another sound. He would be the first to break the ice, though his words seemed a little forward, making it rather hard to keep her composure before sighing and taking a sip of her drink. "Well, if you must know, everyone else here has been avoiding me like the plague, until you that is", She spoke softly, keeping her eyes focused on the way her drink swirled in her hand, before gazing at the man. "Tell me sir, am I really so cruel and mean looking to ward away so many people?", She asked, oddly feeling like unloading her sorrows onto the stranger. Edited by Zaine, Mar 2 2017, 09:12 PM.

Dillon waved the bartender down and motioned with his hand to order the woman another two drinks. It seemed like he has gotten into a rather interesting conversation so soon, so soon that he even didn't get to think about the trip. He took a quick swig of his drink and set his glass to the side, it wasn't his preferred taste of alcohol, but he would amuse the idea of trying it in the presence of her. "Oh really? I don't find you too terrifying." Dillon said in an almost surprised manner, almost as if he was offended a bit. "You look like a a rather enjoyable person in fact. If not an aggressive woman when tipsy." He said commenting on her alcohol intake. "Mmm... I'll give you some uncle-ly advice." Dillon said getting fatherly as he crossed his fingers. "If you were more open and less grimacing, maybe the occasional man or woman would wander over and chat with you. Maybe they are intimidated by your degree of status in such a location. Remember the men of this island are but lowly creatures, and in the face of sophistication they feel intimidation." Dillon said as he downed his drink quick and waved his finger in the air for the same thing on the rocks, it wasn't his preferred but he felt as if he should keep drinking this for the time being. This woman was kind of uncomfortable, in the sense of something was off about her that Dillon couldn't pinpoint, but he didn't mind. There is no fear in this bar, it is but a conversation between a man and a woman. Not so much as in the reality that it was a high ranking government agent talking with a lowly pirate. |

As she finished the remainder of her drink, she looked on in surprise as the man waved over a few more, seemingly treating her before imparting her with his opinion on her little dilemma. It was reassuring to be told that she wasn't frightening, lifting her spirits up a lot more than one would think as she straightened her back for the first time in hours, after running into good company. The man felt the need to offer her some more advice, which he labelled as 'uncley', for whatever reason, but the woman didn't mind it too much as she was actually interested in what he had to say, taking several sips of her drink while she paid attention to him. Her cheeks started to flush a little from the excessive alcohol she had been drinking, but for the most part she was still able to maintain a level of sobriety in his presence, aside from the points where she laughed upon being considered sophisticated. "I suppose it does seem like I'm on some sort of pedestal haha", She admitted, dropping her shoulders a bit to try and seem more friendly. He was quite an amusing man, but one who seemed to have a lot of insight and depth, which was a lot more than she could say for the other lot. Letting out a sigh, the woman smiled a little curiously as she leaned in a bit, now getting rather interested in that mans origin. "So then, does that make you a sophisticated man? Mr...ah, yeah, introductions. My name is Ashara Ackerman, it's a pleasure to meet you", She voiced, before realizing that she had forgotten a basic part of etiquette. And this man called her sophisticated. |

She seemed to be interested in the conversation at hand, which was quite the turn in emotion from the woman, lowering her shoulders and loosening herself up to be more presentable to the common masses. Dillon thought the woman may have had some stick jammed up her rear end, but alas he was proven wrong, with a simple mood shift. "There ya go. The high horse is a terrible thing to ride, it just gets you turned noses." Dillon commented as he sipped on his beverage, letting the ice melt quickly for him. She stated her name and Dillon retorted just so. "Pleasure Miss Ackerman. My names Dillon, Dillon Austins." He looked around the bar and leaned on his knuckles. "I am not such a sophisticate, I am but an older man, who looks over his kids. I guess my approach was simply my fear of women, is less than that of my fear of my death unfulfilled." Dillon said noting that he was not scared of other people simply from appearance, and he wasn't going to let the passive eyes of a hawk like the woman's before him stop him from enjoying his afternoon. "I am but a wise old man, now my son Dragoon, he's got a head on his shoulders." Dillon said bragging about his family, as he crossed his arms. It looked like she was getting heavy into those drinks, downing them without thought or care for time. "What about you, any harrowing tales?" Dillon said noticing the rate at which she was drinking, after thinking of his budget he realized hew as not as thirsty and signaled for one more as to not be rude. |

The mood the woman exhibited shifted for the better as she seemed far more lively than before, deciding to let her latest drink sit for a bit since she wasn't as bored anymore, though the damage it had already done was soon enough going to make itself known. She couldn't help but smile at the mans tone, finding him to be rather entertaining to listen to. "Dillon Austin, my, that does sound like the name of a rather worldly man", She said rather bluntly, thinking to assume such a thing since the man started to talk about unfulfilled deaths, not to mention he was rather aged. The talk of children did warm her a little, since it seemed like he was a rather responsible fellow to be thinking about them in a place like this. "A family man huh? That must be nice, though I'm not sure how you could fear women, you look as fierce as a lion, or a bear for that matter", She laughed, hoping her little compliment would ease his spirits a bit. The woman listened in intently as the man spoke of his son, taking baby sips of her drink as she was starting to feel a little light headed, though it would have put her more at ease if he was on the same level. "Harrowing Tales huh? Well, I know this woman, she might not be that bright but she is a sweetheart. Almost got us killed not long ago though, but fortunately, here we are, still", she spoke, recounting her encounter with the man who had slain the leader of a notorious revolutionary group. "What about you? Y-you seem rather sullen", she asked, her tone starting to get a tiny bit slurred. |

The effects of the alcohol were definitely slowing down the opposition as she began to inquire on about the fear of women he has. "It's less about fearing women, but more so fearing the pursuit of love that I cannot fulfill." He said commented on his lack of a certain medical function... Which he did not enjoy bringing up so he decided to sway the conversation back to the other topic on the table. "My ferocity is just that of a passionate man, I assure you that." She said laughing, taking a sip of his drink. He was not so intent on getting shitfaced when he had to return to his family sober enough to enjoy the day with them. Harrowing tale it was not so much of, but he decided to comment on it either way. "Sounds like a rather skippy woman." He said raising his glass in a small toast as he downed a bit more. "Sullen is a good word for me though." Dillon stated as he set his glass down. "Coal Miner since I was 2. Alone since I was 30. Just now have I started living and it's brought the joy back into my life. But the somber times definitely weigh down on my soul. It wasn't easy, getting here, marines had me locked in a tax-loop back on Bijotsu, just finally left the island to be collected. The island has no good memories for me." He said scratching his chin, not getting too deep into his past. He looked over to the woman as he tilted his hat back, to let his bangs fall down past his eyes. "What about you Ma'am? You don't seem so sullen as you do... Professional." He said commenting on her poise despite her drinking tendencies loosening her up she still held some sort of aura of someone who meant business. Big Business. |

No matter how anyone could see it, that man before her had the chiselled gaze of someone who had seen too much, and was hardened by the experience. In her own skewed way, it was like she was staring face to face with a veteran cipher-pol agent, one who had done their duty for the world government one too many times, and had paid a grand price for it. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, but I won't press for details, I'm not one to try and squeeze a bleeding wound", She spoke, trying to sympathize with him even if she had to lie a bit. His own description of Reihe did make her giggle though, as that was one way to describe her, raising a glass in toast to mimic the burly looking man, and taking a sizeable sip, having already gotten too tipsy to regulate her intake properly. She got a little fidgety, resting her elbows against the table and resting her chin in her palms as she listened into the mans dreary tale, soaking in the toil and displeasure behind his words. "That is s-sad. Bijotsu is no wonderland, that's for sure, I have heard tales of that ruin of a place", She recounted, being rather well versed in most geography because of her job. When the man pegged her as being professional looking, the woman had to take another sip of her drink just to hide that flash of hesitation, realizing she was getting too tipsy to even hide her emotions like she usually did. "Ah, professional? You really have a way with words, Mr. Austin. I suppose it was too hard to hide. I work for the World Bank", She spoke, sounding as sincere as possible. "Boring, right? Haha, Mmmm....Well HQ ge-gets attacked by pirates more often than I'd like to admit. How about you though? You seem like the adventurous sort, not really a pencil pusher", She observed, her expression getting a little drowsier from the excessive alcohol. |

Dillon downed the rest of his drink as the woman apologized for the downfalls of his life. "No need for sorry feelings on a life you didn't take part in." He said reassuringly. His life was his and he's come to comfortable terms with how it ended up. He was not so keen of the island that he was raised on but in essence it is what molded him into the determined man he was sitting in this very seat, chatting obliviously to the enemy. But enemy or not, that was not the concern of such a man as Dillon, what he cared for was in essence the well being of those around him, and right now it looked as if the woman was getting to, if not past her usual drink limits, as a sip of her intoxicated concoction had turned her into a fidgeting mess in reaction. The gears in Dillons head began to turn though, as he heard that his woman was in fact a member of the World Bank. That was some serious money right there... He patted his pockets... There was a big tournament tomorrow that he was planning to take Eleanor into... But even if she were to win that money it wouldn't be a fraction of the cost needed to build his family a proper working home. Dillon bit his lip thinking he may be taking this situation quite advantageously being his colleague beside him was more than intoxicated. "Yeah... Pirates can be a pretty rough lot." He said as he looked up to the ceiling. "I myself am just a retired coal miner, trying to get on with life." Dillon let out with a sigh of tension as what he was about to ask probably would bring feelings of guilt for him later on. "Being retired though... And the crazy tax hike the marines placed on Bijotsu to weed me out, I've come into a bit of a rough patch." Dillon said noting his money situation wasn't the best. His "tax" money was about to be spent, with just these drinks and a few days food for the family. "I uh. Hate to be so sudden Miss Ackerman, but is there any way I could apply for a loan, the payback would not be immediate, but my family deserves a good home, and I can't build it with hopes and dreams. I need... 100,000,000 beli." He said cringing at what he was doing, it made him feel like a slimy pirate, so he had to definitely amend that. "Now, I'll make sure you get your moneys worth back somehow. I can put the boys to work, yknow once they have a bed. Maybe come out of retirement myself." Dillon said noting he would definitely be indebted. |

Ashara had a look of melancholy in her eyes as she stared at the man before him, feeling a glimmer of pity for him for the sort of life he must have lived. Truly, if she had been in charge of the South Blue quadrant, she would have surely dealt with Bijotsu in some way, but alas, it seemed like they simply didn't care for a burnt down ruin such as that. Her smile warmed a bit when the man sympathized with her story, though a part of her felt bad for having to lie, an emotion she would not have had to deal with had she been sober. Still, the woman was strong, stronger than most, and at best the alcohol could only slow her down, and not reduce her to a dribbling mess like some of the other men on the nearby tables. Letting out a sigh, the woman finally put her glass down, feeling it was time to slow down just a bit as the man started to mention something quite curious. Her eyebrows were raised in surprise as the man started telling her of his plight, no doubt buying into her made up story. "A...loan? Hmm, it's not a small one either...I..uh, I'll have to think about this", she uttered softly, hiding the panic brewing in her heart as she realized that not being able to deliver would have cost her this whole charade she had going on. "You say you were a coal miner, does getting back into the job mean returning to those mines? I don't suppose you have something else you could offer me", She asked, trying to sound as legitimate as she could. If he was unable to provide anything, then she could reasonably say no and walk away intact, but that story did make her heart wrench a little...stupid alcohol. "I-Is there anything you can offer me then? a service perhaps? surely in your long and exciting life, lugging coal around isn't all you have to show for it", She added, betraying her own intentions as the drunk part of her wanted to throw out a lifeline. |

Dillon tapped his chin in an uncomfortable silence of a manner as the woman didn't seem to be buying too deeply into the strength of his own word. Which was understandable to Dillon. He brought his fingers to the bar and began to tap on it incessantly as he looked over to her. "It's definitely no small loan, that's for sure, and its a definite rush of a question to ask on such short notice in the blue. I don't expect a positive answer you see, I am but hopeful for it." Dillon said as he took off his gloves, setting his hands palm up on the bar in front of him to reveal his fruit. "No, you're right. Coming out of retirement would imply going back to the coal mines, which I would dread. The screams, the cries, the death. It's not something I could partake in ever again, lest I rather die where I sit." He said in honest terms. He hated those mines with a cold undying passion to the point where he avoids the use of coal completely. It seems as if she was willing to throw him a bone though and listen to what else he could offer. "Well... I could never offer the livelihoods of my children, but my debt would be payable in both blood and loyalty..." He said as he popped a coin out of his pocket and tossed it onto his paw, allowing it to continuously bounce using the original falling force. "Now... My strength has never been that of powerful mind you Miss Ackerman... But my speed... In my old age I just keep getting faster... And faster." Dillon said, in one fine motion moving his palm from under the coin as it fell and swiping it to the right of him, causing it to pierce cleanly through a nearby potted plant, going straight through the bud, and jamming itself cleanly into the wall, with nothing more than a sudden "pop" sound as he swiped. This speed would be comparable to what Miss Ackerman could do in a moments notice. "In my age, I'm regaining strength and determination with each passing day, and with each step my family takes forward I feel myself wanted to move faster and faster." Dillon said as he slid his gloves back on, he was uncomfortable keeping such dangerous things out in the open. "But I can understand why a woman of the World Bank would not require the power of this fruit, which can reject even the fiercest of blows knocking one back with the strength of their own arm and the speed of mine added on top." Dillon said as he tipped his hat down past his eyes. "So if you are not interested in this deal, I, and my current family of 5 will not hold it against you in the slightest, for it is your decision after all." He said tapping the counter with his finger to get another drink for himself. Edited by Fresh, Mar 3 2017, 10:29 PM.

The woman stirred in her seat, shifting the way her legs were folded back and forth as the fidgety nature of her own blood and the alcohol made it rather hard to stay still. She wanted to help this guy out, probably because he seemed nice and because she did have a soft spot for children, but she also knew it was quite a lot he was asking for. A family man with hardships thrown at him as frequently as drops of rain, having this fall through would probably be just another day for him, but in her buzzed state, she would have felt awfully bad for letting that happen. After being spurred on by her question, the man pulled off his glove, making the woman think he was going to win her over with a magic trick, until she noticed the odd shape of the mans palm. Blinking, she thought that she might have finally drunk too much, but judging by the mans reaction, he seemed perfectly aware of it also. The strange shape of his palms were very reminiscent of paws of some sort, no doubt looking quite odd on an arguably handsome gentleman like him. "Well, you don't see that everyday", she let out, as he bounced a coin on his peculiar paws, her eyes following each bounce rather fluidly. Quite true to his word, the man swiftly swiped at the coin, having it fly to the right with enough momentum to bury itself into the wall. The woman was quite able to follow what he was doing, but she couldn't let that part slip, since she was sure no ordinary banker should have been able to. Still, it seemed like he wasn't ordinary either, which made this situation more interesting to say the least. "W-wow, the coin disappeared? I must say Mr. Austin, I did not think you had such a rare ability at your fingertips", She mused, being genuinely pleased with what she saw, even if she had to sugar coat it a little bit. "Now Now Mr. Austin, no need to be so pessimistic, I believe you've shown me quite clearly that you have a wonderful array of skills. This can definitely be of use", She spoke a bit more seriously, her brimming expression melting away into a more calculating one. "I don't suppose you've ever 'collected debt' before, have you Mr. Austin?", She asked, speaking slowly as she leaned in closer to the table, behaving like she could actually work with this. It was probably a bad idea to trust a stranger, but if she worded it just right, she could probably make use of this situation. |

Dillon took a sip of the drink in front of him as he flicked his hat back up to show his eyes. "The rare ability here is the fact that I would even barter for such a ridiculous sum of money with a mere coin." He noted in surprise as he sipped on the glass again, setting it down and running his finger across the rim. He noticed something strange, but kept it to himself. The very fact that the woman's eyes could follow such a feat denoted a strength he was unsure of in his overthinking manner of steps. She was very clearly drunk, but also very clearly powerful, being inebriated just gave that small tell an even bigger gap for him to realize it. To that degree though... Dillon just assumed most bankers for such a job as to get attacked so often by pirates may require a keen eye for situations. Dillon took his hat off, and ran his hair back behind his ears as he looked down at the girl who leaned in closer to him. "Ma'am. I have never been one for debt collection, I was but an able bodied worker. But what I was and am now are not the same thing, the young me would not be in the manner of such unhealthy repertoire." Dillon said as he downed his drink in one mighty gulp, before setting his glass down quickly with a clank. "But if my Family gets our dream house, I'll be damned anyone who dare trample that future, or the person that so helped me provide it." He said with a fire burning in his eyes, as the coal on his skin began to darken. He coughed and suddenly flipped the switch back to his standard level of emotion. "If you need me to collect a debt as my debt Miss Ackerman. I assure you as long as that debt is not my own family or a risk to the livelihood of that, they will be fell until the price is paid." Dillon said grabbing the top of his hat and placing it back on his head. "Or so help the gods that protect them, as they will be fell too for harming the Austins family name." Dillon was very serious, the alcohol effects seemingly drained from his features. He could tell who he was dealing with was most likely a very serious adversary herself, but to provide sanctity for his family he would so quickly go into debt. And if worse comes to worse and the debt was called on one of the men or women he loved dearly within his crew... Well Dillon was a pirate. As sickening as a debt unpaid is, the death of a family member by his own hand was far worse. Actually calling for the success of this debt was also an entirely different matter... But that is a topic Miss Ackerman didn't need to know. |

The way the man spoke had a certain rhythm to it, an enjoyable flow that made it easier to get hooked into whatever he was saying. It was actually rather impressive, the way this man basically won her over with a simple coin against her 100 million. Still, it wasn't all because of the coin, but rather, what he did to it. His speed was rather remarkable, as she did take a moment longer to get accustomed to it, albeit the alcohol certainly didn't help. With a physical ability like that, this man would more than likely be able to handle anything she asks of him, though the way he worded it did make her giggle. "Mmm~ My! Please, it's nothing as notorious as that, I'm not a mobster or anything, it was merely my way of testing the waters of what I can and can't ask of you", She reassured the man, taking another sip of her drink as she gave the man a curious stare. "I assure you, this is something only you need to be apart of, whether your family even finds out or not is up to you", She informed, sounding calmer and far more stoic as she mulled around the true topic. Her smile widened as she pondered to herself, the ideas of how she could use this man practically filling her head, but, she couldn't ask too much of the man, after all, he had a family to worry about. "Here's the thing, forget debt collection for a moment. How about...I get three favours from you, Mr. Dillon Austin", She finally spoke up, holding up her thin fingers to represent the number '3' as she had a shit eating grin on her face, turns out the alcohol had finally gotten to her. "That's three instances where you drop what you're doing and come find me, to help me out in whatever situation it I need help with, what do you say to that?", She questioned the gruff looking man, wondering just what sort of response she would get from such a vague request. |
