The Outside
Physical Description:
Masaru, for his age and short stature, is a rather impressively-trained young man. His muscles alone, signs of heavy training, allow him to become incredibly intimidating in the boxing ring, and his tattoos, red in color, cross all over his body like most Shandorians', forming many patterns and symbols that even he sometimes cannot understand. His tattoos even reach one of his purple eyes and his forehead, right underneath the white blanket that is supposed to be his hair.
Forgotten child of the Makkunouchi clan, it is not surprising, however, to notice that he has a relatively feminine facial appearance with wide hips and a slimmer figure just like most of his sisters, which allows him to be quite agile whenever he wants to. This renders him quite deadly in the ring, with many saying that it is his body alone that allowed him to become what he is today.
Being a Shandorian, of course, the young man sports large wings on his back that are reminiscent of a bird's. Sporting a substantial amount of black feathers, he, however, like any and all apart of the Moon Race, cannot fly, and so he finds them to almost be quite useless. Nevertheless, many considers them to be quite beautiful and fitting on his body.
Clothing:
In terms of clothing, Masaru usually wears generally casual clothes while out in public, which is unlikely for most Shandorians. He most often settles to wear a simple white jacket alongside black shorts and red running shoes, which ties in to the color of his tattoos, of which are also red in color. On most important occasions, however, he can be seen wearing a rather serious-looking dark brown trench coat, alongside a white tie, with formal black pants and shoes.
In the ring, like most boxers, he generally refuses to wear any shirts, leaving himself bare-chested to impress his enemy and leave him or her perhaps intimidated. His shorts, clad in black and red, has his name in a bold red written on front, blasting his opponent with capital letters. Rather amusingly, the shorts has similar tattoos than the ones on his body, which makes it as though they themselves are part of his own body. This leaves none other than his footwear, of which bear the same color scheme as his shorts.
Accessories: N/A
Extra: Almost always, Masaru wears gloves on his hands to hide the bandages underneath, of which he always uses to protect them in battle underneath the now-rather-famous boxing gloves of the KWB. Still to this day, he uses the very first pair he has ever acquired. Time alone was kind enough to leave them almost as good as new, though they seem to slowly lose their brightness thanks to the continuous punching Masaru has done during his boxing career.

The Inside
Personality
Though Masaru is, most perhaps, one of the most intimidating figures to face in a fight or a boxing ring, he is almost a completely different person when he is in public or any other situations that do not imply actual fighting. In fact, in such situations, he is a rather harmless young man who prefers to shy away from swords and guns to instead relish himself in the history of the KWB and its current leader, Ryuuji Kamogawa. In fact, quite surprisingly, the boxer is not known to fight a lot outside of the ring, instead preferring to run away from such situations as quickly as possible.
Barely social, he is rather nervous at first and will often mumble his words as he speaks, but he is known to be extremely kind to mostly everybody he meets, even those who should not garner any respect at all. It is rather sad that such a kind person love such an unkind sport where most seem to wish for the death of their opponents. Nonetheless, he is not one to boast about the sport very much. In fact, he would prefer a lot of people to simply stay away from the sport if they cannot fight correctly or follow exercises.
As a man who only entered the league solely by pure love for the sport more than anything else, Masaru is a really avid boxer who always wishes to learn more about the sport and the fighting techniques that it implies. Thus, whenever he can, he always trains to become stronger every day, which is a rare occurrence in the Blues. Honourable, he dislikes cheating and firmly believes that every cheater should resign. As such, he heavily despises Jason Hawk's fighting style, firmly presenting it as an incredibly disrespectful show of moves. Masaru is also not shy to critique anything he sees as wrong happening in the boxing ring to losing fighters after their fights so they can then improve their fighting game.
Despite his kind attitude, this completely changes once Masaru enters the ring, where he becomes a cold and merciless fighter. Brave, he will face any hits that he faces without fear, even going as far as to brace most impacts without considering the possible consequences. Some say he is courageous, other say he is nothing but a fool, but it is such a fighting style that made him such a fearful figure in the boxing world. It has been truly rare to ever see Masaru ever cower away from his opponent... but, maybe one day, such an unlikable event might happen, whether he wants it or not.
History
Champion Road
Masaru was born, like all of his siblings, in the Wano Country located within the New World ocean, though did not really had a childhood that could grant him the title of Thirteenth Child of the Makkunouchi clan. Son of Inoue Makkunouchi, head of the clan, he was the result of a sexual affair the woman and a Shandorian man had during a quick and very brief expedition to the Sky Islands. As the Thirteenth Child, his arrival was quite awaited by the clan as it was known that all offspring of Inoue always were of the feminine gender and carried the hope of the clan's growth further into reality.
However, it was revealed, at birth, that he was not female, but instead male, Inoue immediately became furious. Still to this day, many can still recall her large smile replaced instead with an expression of pure disappointment and frustration as, upset, she waited there with the boy in his hands, staring at it with vile eyes. Not ever as she been seen being so angry before, but, in this clan where women shall become goddesses and men their slaves, this was no surprise.
The baby was given the name of "Masaru" by Inoue herself, whom she considered as a direct insult due to his hidden Wanoite meaning. She described the child to be the "commander" of men, "foolish harbinger" of a suicidal society, and so, resolute, the leader of the clan decided that his life shall not be respected. To Inoue, he had no worth both alive and dead, for he was a man, and men are simply objects she can get rid of whenever she can.
Preparations for his murder were done soon after by servants near the shores of the Country. Put in a basket of solid wood, the baby was left inside holding onto a note as it drifted away into the waves, Inoue simply hoping that it would drown away, forgotten by her people and eaten by the unforgivable sharks that dwell underneath the cruel waters of the sea. Fortunately for Masaru, his basket was found by a trading company ship that was sailing near the Wano Country at the time, and was retrieved by one of the sailors which spot it.
The sailor's name was Miguel Baker, an employee of the Falsworth Trading Company. Back then, he still worked with them to ensure that every item that would be on their ships would travel even across the seas to get to their destination. After he found Masaru, he tried to read the note that the baby held, but, not understanding a thing due to it being written in the language of the Wanoites, he simply decided to keep the child on board alongside the other sailors. Though they were on the job, there was one thing they weren't, and that was barbaric savages.
Miguel remained with the trading company for another year. During that year, Masaru grew alongside him. Given that he was unable to read the note, he decided to name the child "Richard Baker". Once he returned home to Wind Town, he presented him to his wife Fay, where they both decided to adopt the child as their own.
Following that time, "Richard" lived an unoriginal, yet peaceful life. His father having decided to retire from his trading company job, they lived altogether in a beautiful home near the famous Cantina restaurant. Because of this, the child was rather spoiled, but he grew kind. Ultimately, however, he soon became an unfortunate subject of bullying at a young age due to his feminine appearance, which forced to grow more nervous and unwilling to befriend those who he holds close to himself. The wings on his back, symbolic of the Shandorian race, were also quite intriguing for many.
As he grew older, the boy soon started to think about what he could possibly become. Being a Shandorian, he was also terribly curious about his past. After all, there was no way a winged person like him could have been born from normal Human parents. So, curious, he started searching in books and literature about his true self. For many months, he searched, all the while expanding his culture and knowledge on the world. However, finally, at his twelve years of age, he found out the truth and, intrigued, searched more on this cryptic "Moon Race".
What he found completely flabbergasted him. Soon enough, he started to wonder how he could have possibly been born here, in a Human town, instead of living on these "Sky Islands". Bewildered, he confronted his parents about the matter and it was at that moment that, finally, his parents told him about his tale in the New World ocean. For the first time in his life, the boy became frustrated at his parents, telling them that they should had never lied to him in such a manner, and stormed out of the house.
He came back the next morning completely beaten and bloodied, having been assaulted by bullies while he was crying in a corner.
From that point on, it was fair enough to describe the young man as a complete shut-in. For five years, he remained as far away from other children as possible, instead remaining stuck in a world of books and dreams. His parents, disappointed of his behaviour and lack of proper objectives other than to "seek more about" his self. That was... until he met, suddenly, a certain woman once he reached the age of 17.
He had been only walking close to the beach of the island, near the village, not too far. He was feeling lonely at the time and he needed to see the ocean for once, to make a difference for his usual days... but it was also a day where bullies usually went to the beach to go into the sea and enjoy its content for themselves. They were not happy to see the winged idiot standing there, already wobbly at the sight of them. They found him pathetic, worthless, a waste of space and oxygen.... and, therefore, it was no surprise that they were all already onto him not long after. Being physically weak, Masaru was not able to do much against them, and so, he did not run, simply accepting the casual beating he received from them.
That was, until, suddenly, a woman showed up. She was slightly older than him and had been staring at him from a distance in what seemed to be training gear. She had ran for a great while in such wares, visibly in sweat, tired of the exercises she had to do. There was an old man by her side who stared at the beating without much thought but pity, thinking that it was nowhere near deserved for Masaru to be beaten so easily. Eventually, the woman grew tired and went ahead.
One, two, three, four. It had only taken but a mere punch to the chin for every one of them to be taken out, completely subjugated into the sand below, unconscious. Masaru, him, had simply stared at the scene with widened eyes, afraid of such violence. The woman had given him one last good stare, then simply put her hands into her pockets in silence as she realized that he was not thanking her for what she did for him.
And yet, there was this thing about him, this... aura. He seemed familiar somehow, like he had always been part of her life. Close, maybe. Family? A distant cousin? Most probably. In any case, she was seeing... potential. Yes, potential in this Shandorian, this person she never met before, this distant familiar whom she never had to pleasure to meet before.
She told him to meet her at her ship the next day. To train, she told him. Feeling scared at the time, yet impressed by her fighting skills, she decided to do so without telling his parents. The next afternoon, he was on the deck of this random woman with boxing gloves in hand and an old man that was explaining to him what was now going to happen. Everything had been set up by this woman he never met before, and yet, it felt... strange. It was not necessarily pleasant to, afterwards, be beaten by this woman, but it was... exciting, ravishing. In fact, throwing these punches in hopes of getting the target, getting hit... he had never noticed it before, but he... liked it.
In a matter of a single spar, Richard was suddenly introduced the world of boxing by this woman, who presented herself as Akane Makkunouchi. The old man, she simply referred to as "Trainer K", who, with a smile, started giving him a schedule of exercises to do and multiple magazines to read about. Astonished, the young man simply looked at it all with widened, opened eyes, like he was finally given an opportunity in his life to change his current pathetic self, and, resolute, he left the ship with a new vision.
And so, his boxing career suddenly opened. In a matter of only but days, this pathetic young man suddenly started to become something promising. He kept training, kept hardening himself every day, until, finally, he was suddenly given an information that struck him to the core. It was only but a single sentence that Akane told him, but he understood her in an instant:
"You are my long-lost brother Masaru. I recalled of a child my mother had lost, she told me. I thought you were dead all this time. From now on, you shall remain with me and Trainer K. As of today, you are now born anew."
And, just like that... Masaru was truly born.
Deciding that it was time, he left his adoptive parents with his last goodbyes and decided to leave the island alongside Akane and Trainer K, continuing to train under their guise as he decided to remake his body with tattoos to reforge his identity. In a matter of mere days, he was able to sufficiently train himself to finally be able to land a single punch on Akane, and, soon after, he was able to get his own KWB License. It was not a surprise, as such, that, then, he was able to register himself in many matches, then tournaments... and, finally, he attained the reclaimed title of Blues Champion while Akane, her, became the female Grand Line Champion.
Still to this day, Masaru boxes without stop, hopeful to reach the top of the top as he grows more and more in pure strength and stamina. A beast of fighting, he remains an absolute monster in the Blues ring... and, nowadays, it is as if, ever so slowly... he is getting ready for the true challenge that is the Grand Line.
Until then, he awaits a New Challenger, foreseeing every potential opponents in the Blues that could impress him in combat.

Rolling Thunder (78**) Type: Offensive Range: Melee Stats: +16 Strength, +40 Speed
| Description: Masaru's Signature Technique. The Rolling Thunder is the very technique that allowed the Blues Champion to become as popular as he is today. Rushing forward in a swaying motion, the boxer first dodges the first hit of his opponent with incredible speed before punching left, then right again and again without stop. If unable to be stopped, this can leave a target completely overwhelmed and knocked out in a matter of seconds.
If Masaru happens to use this technique, a Stamina check will be conducted after each hit. If the target's Stamina is stronger than Masaru's Strength, he or she will be able to resist the attack as it will be just weak enough to not be able to cause any further damage. However, if the contrary is instead happening, the target will remained stunned until the technique is over, of which is after 15 hits (maximum 2 posts).
Note that, after each hit, Masaru will lose -10 Strength and Speed.
| Thundering Uppercut (66*) Type: Offensive Range: Melee Stats: +56 Strength
| Description: A basic, yet powerful technique. Masaru rushes forward towards the target, then positions himself in a way that will allow him to correctly land an uppercut on the target's chin. The difference between a normal uppercut and this technique is that, while punching, the boxer puts all his strength in the attack. If the attack lands, this can completely stun a target for an entire post.
