Longarm Tribe(1 Trait)-As their name suggests, all members of the Longarm Tribe have two elbow joints on each arm, which results in them having abnormally long arms. Because of their incredibly long arms, the longarm tribe receives a passive boost of 15 to their strength and for every 10 points they receive in strength they get a boost of 1.

Longleg Tribe(1 Trait)-As their name suggests, they are a race of very long-legged individuals and because of this they are very tall and outsize the average human greatly. Much like the Snakeneck Tribe, Longlegs are often very proud of their legs and will wear clothing and jewelry to show them off or tattoo them to make their precious legs distinct. Because of their incredibly long legs they receive a passive boost of 15 to their speed and for every 10 points they receive in speed they get a boost of 1.

Snakeneck Tribe(1 Trait)- Members of the Snakeneck Tribe have necks that are longer than a normal human's, making them much taller than most humans. All snakenecks that have been shown have had very slender bodies that make them more closely resemble snakes. Members of the tribe decorate their necks with rings or tattoos similar to what the Longleg Tribe members have on their legs. Snakeneck Tribe members receive a passive boost of 15 points in accuracy thanks to their height giving them quite the vantage point and for every 10 points they receive in accuracy they get a boost of 1.

Giants(4 Traits)- Over the last few centuries a truly odd occurrence seems to have been taking place in the world's giant population. Rather contrary to their name, they've actually been getting shorter as the generations come in. While a far cry from their previous heights most giants born outside their home country and even a fair few within only ever reach between a short 20 feet and a tall 30. They normally appear to be regular humans scaled up but some also are known to have more exaggerated features. Naturally physically gifted, they start with a flat boost of 10 points in strength and stamina along with for every 5 points their strength and/or stamina gains, they get a bonus of 1 point. This however is counteracted by their lower than average accuracy as they seem not to notice smaller details a tinier race might meaning they can only reach up to the trait "Superb" for accuracy. On top of this, their speed also leaves a bit to be desired as they have to be a lot more careful about running into things or stepping on stuff they shouldn't, limiting them to the "Ludicrous" trait at best.

I'd say remove the accuracy cap or raise the max booster by 1 stage for giant, otherwise 2/2 for the rest.

I'd give me 2/2 to everything but Giant. For some reason or another I just can't seem to grasp wanting to see it approved. Someone else may disagree with me tho.

I do feel the inherent need to voice my opinion on Giants just so that everyone is aware of why they did not carry over from the previous renditions of the site to this one. Giants in previous were a 3 cost race that awarded first tier stamina and strength along with an inherently massive size going around 20 to 80 Feet in height. There are some problems that came with the race as a basic concept however, and that was weight, and flawed stat distribution.

I'll start with the first which is weight, giving a race a free pass to be tons upon tons of pounds was seen as an auto-excuse in place of actual strength in terms of destructive qualities. Now on things like our monsters this is okay because the cost is large enough to justify the effect of these heavy beings themselves, and the fact that it takes up the original users traits (to get the npc) and the npc's traits (to be classified as a monster) alone. I feel in the essence that they be kept to a reasonable 20-30 (which 30 in one piece canon is about an average size on the low spectrum for an elbaf) that weight can be regulated to a point where it does not factor above stats without justified reasoning...

Now... Onto the hard one which is stats. A base giant would require 4 traits to start out under this current which we can assume puts your basic giant at 32+30 stats, or 62 in general. Divide that by four for your average and you come to a giant that garners... About 15-16 per stat before the new buffs apply a measly buff... So... My question is have you ever seen a giant in canon, even as a mere child who would sit at 16 in all stats? It's believable in almost every race barring Tontatta which for some reason are also at a questionable size to stat ratio but can be forgiven because they are small and destructive, whereas these guys are big and destructive.

It's food for thought that I just thought you guys could use for a more appropriate giant trait. :) My recommendations usually sit alongside making any race obtainable at the start of a characters career, however giants are that one exception where I feel they should be handled at a higher degree due to their frightening presence in the canon.

I kind of agree that Giants should be handled much more cautiously. Unlike all of the other races that are currently available in the list of Traits that we propose, Giants, in comparison, would realistically and canonically eliminate almost all of them very easily with the only exception of a few (mainly Tontatta because they are very small). Their main problem is clearly their weight. In my eyes, size shouldn't be an entire excuse to compensate for lacking stats when compared to an opponent, but if we allow the race to be too tall... well, it causes a problem. I think we should perhaps lower the maximum size of 30 to 25 just to not make them too tall.

As for stats, like Fresh pointed out, it's... definitely something complicated to handle, especially with Giants. Even as children, Giants are stronger than normal Humans by default, so that alone should be kept reasonable. It wouldn't be normal for a Giant to start out at 16 in every stat for sure... but then again, we can't make all of them start at something like 30 or 40 in every stat.

For now, we should withhold the approval of Giants to find a solution that could make them usable in a RP context. As for the others races, I'm fine with all of them.

Firstly, as a suggestion for the giant's thing.

Don't let them be taken by newbie players. Lock them behind a DP gained limit. Giants are inherently super tough and destructive opponents and it has been said multiple times that even a child giant is probably hundreds of times stronger than a normal human. Reflect this by having a minimum DP required to make a Giant character, whether for PC or NPC. I would say at least 350 or more DP would be suitable, enough for Strength and Stamina (a giant's natural inclination) to be over 150, falling into the "Herculean" strength and "Beast-like" stamina brackets with some left over for Speed and Accuracy. Or perhaps forgo the minimum DP and make it a Minimum Strength and Stamina, so that a giant MUST have at least 150 of each, to reflect their huge size and weight, and then let their normal stat define their destructive power.

Secondly. I would protest the Elves, on the grounds that the Longear Tribe trait that I put forth earlier were supposed to BE the Elves, I merely followed the naming conventions of the Manga in order for them to fit the setting better. I even say in the thread itself "Yeah, they're basically Tolkien Elves". So please, let my Longears be the Elves.

I would honestly prefer having people from the Longear Tribe rather than "Elves" just for the sole reason that we should follow the conventions Oda set in place for these people. Yes, One Piece is mainly fantasy, but I'd rather not incorporate stuff that is straight from LoTR and then pretty much admit that is indeed from another universe.

If you didn't notice mith, it's impossible for someone to start with a giant due to the 4 trait cost, and i calculated it out so at a balanced stat distribution, they'd have nearly 50 strength, moreso since they need 30 dp to start off with anyways.

Mith was also VERY specific with their appearance to the point i can only find one suitable fc that because of her sclerae would be better suited as an oni. Otherwise i'd be fully content to leave well enough alone.

Also hibi, did you really just complain about it being too lotr when you just complimented the other where he literally said they were basically tolkein elves, but sure, i don't mind all that much. Surprisingly elves aren't a tolkein born concept either, moreso being a germanic folklore concept like the Klabautermann, what's essentially a water kobold.

I'm willing to compromise, if widening the description of Longears will help, then so be it. Potential thing below:

Trait Name: Longear Tribe
Trait Type: Racial
Trait Requirements: 3 Traits
Trait Description: Contesting the Dwarves as one of the most elusive races on the Seas, the Longear Tribe are also known as the "Elves" and are the subject of hundreds of myths and legends. Most of them untrue. The truth of the matter is that Longears are humanoids similar in size to humans, tending to be slightly taller than humans and almost always possessing a lithe and flexible frame that is thinner than humans. The defining feature are of course the elongated and pointed ears that all Elves have combined with a certain grace that sets them apart. There are two subdivisions of Elves, based on their skin-tone and hair-colors. The fair-skinned Longears have a caramel to pale skin-tone with a highly chromatic variety of eye and hair-colors, with black, brown, red, gold, and even green or magenta colors possible. The dark-skinned Longears instead almost universally have grey or white colored hair with amber, brown, red, silver, or black colored eyes. Their skin-tones range from olive to literal blue-black. Communities tend to be predominantly one or the other grouping, though despite the many stories there is little to no bad blood between the groups.
Longear senses are considerably enhanced in comparison to normal humans, granting them an almost supernatural grace and reaction time. For every five points put into Speed or Accuracy the Longear gains one additional point, this bonus is calculated last. Longears can also further refine their senses by creating passive techniques up to their max technique rank in order to perform sensory feats such as seeing in pitch black conditions, hearing a pin drop behind a stone wall, or smelling poison in food or drink. This ability is not comparable to or a replacement for Observation Haki.
