Marvelous awoke with a yawn and held a hand up in front of his face to block the rays of light peering in through the windows of his room. He rolled to the edge of his bed and sat up , looking across the room to see Kalifa staring at him from a seat pointed directly facing his bed. He fell out of his bed with a thud as the woman rushed over to help him up. "Uhhh, Kalifa, why are you in my room? Watching me sleep?" he said groggily as he stood with her help and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. She cocked her head to the side and responded inquisitively. "I was watching over you. For protection. It is a usual part of my duties." she responded, voice thick with tiredness. Marvelous leaned back in horror at the proposition. "Oh dear Krek. Look Kal, whatever it is that put you in this position, as long as you're travelling with us you're a regular person just like the rest of us. You don't have any duties here aside from some occasional cleaning like everyone else. You're a Gokaiger now. We're family here. Got that?" he tried to sound comforting and understanding but considering he'd just woken up he wasn't sure how that'd come out but he hoped it sounded fine. With a "Understood" From Kalifa he rose and prepared to head to bathe. "Please head down to the woman's quarters and speak with Mei. She'll get you set up with a bed and money and stuff." He said before disappearing into the bathroom. After he'd returned to his room and found it clear of any other personal he got dressed and headed to the deck, grabbing some fruit from the kitchen along the way. "We're here, as i predicted last night. We made landfall around 0'800." Getseui said as he came up behind Marvelous on the deck. The weather was nice, warm with a cool breeze and no sign of precipitation anywhere. A great day for a journey. Marvelous nodded in response and looked out at the brush and forest in front of them. But he could see past that. A familiar sensation passed through the back of his eyes as they flashed red and he peered further than he could a moment ago. He saw through the forest to the small village in front of them. After talking to Kalifa at the party a couple of days ago, he had gained some measure of control over the ability, the "curse". He still didn't quite understand it. But he was grateful for this ability that would make him stronger and help him protect his crew. And get stronger they all would. From what Getseui had told him, this island would be a perfect place for them all to train and get stronger. They had been lucky that the first island in the grandline they had stopped at had posed no real challenge. But they couldn't rely on that forever. And frankly, Ikamichi was lucky he had been there when that Marine Captain attacked her last time. As much as he would try to he wouldn't always be around to protect them and many of them did not have the combat training he or even Suigetsu had. At a crew meeting he'd called yesterday he'd clued them all in on the situation. They were on pressure isle for one reason foremost of all. To turn all the fighters amongst them from average, to Hero Eligble! He could feel the thickness of the atmosphere of the isle already creeping in, making it harder to breathe, harder to stand, and harder to talk. But he took a deep breathe anyway and Turned to address the crew. "Everyone knows what we are here for. We will find a place to set up lodging, and you will pair off with the more combat experienced of you to begin your training. We will be here for awhile so we are leaving on a skeleton crew behind on the ship. Everyone else, be prepared to be away from the ship for awhile. Japhy, Getsuei,Suigetsu, and Ikamichi will be taking command while we're here. Or Gokai Crimson,Mauve,Blue, and White. I have will be joining you all here soon, but first i have something very important to do on this island and then i'll find you all again. And remember. We're pirates, try and have some fun while we're here, otherwise, what's the point?" He said with a grin as he nodded to Getsuei and his eyes glowed red again before he leapt off the deck of the ship, sailing through the air inland. The new adventure had begun. |

The moment Ikamichi had woken up, she could already feel the thick air that came from the island, due to her making the mistake of leaving her window open the previous night. As she struggled to get up and dress herself due to the harsh pressure of the island, Ikamichi already dreaded the island, since if there was so much pressure coming from just the air, she did want to know how much pressure there would be on the actual island, or whether she would actually be able to survive the pressure. By the time she had joined the other crewmates on the ship, she noticed that most of the other crewmates also seemed to suffer from the pressure, though they seemed to not care much about it. As she heard Marvelous speak to the crew, she noticed that he seemed to be mostly right, even with all the pressure on him, which she found to be pretty impressive. However, as Ikamichi was prepared to get off the ship to restock the food supply, she managed to hear that she would be in charge. Nervous about being in charge, Ikamichi waited for Marvelous to be done speaking before raising her hand and saying to him "Uh actually I have some business on the island as well, to restock the ship, so can I recommend Kalifa to be a boss in my place? She does seem to be capable, after all." Despite her words however, Marvelous had already leaped off of the deck of the ship, landing upon the grounds of the island with ease. Guessing that if she tried the same here that she would end up breaking her bones, Ikamichi simply walked to the lower decks, before helping roll the decks out for all the crewmates and herself. Once she was done, she walked out, most of the crew following besides her as she walked onto the island. As Ikamichi looked around the island, she noticed that, despite the heavy pressure that had affected the island, most of the buildings had seemed to look normal, despite being made of steel. And even the citizens appeared to be acting normal as well, which made Ikamichi guess that most of the citizens were likely able to adapt to the heavy pressures of the island. Wishing that she would soon be able to handle the pressure as well as the natives, Ikamichi continued to walk on the island, each step feeling like a journey due to the heavy air. |

Land of legend, pressure, power, all into one... A hellish landscape for the standard man, weight multiplied exponentially of what reality should let one perceive. The air alone was harsh to the lungs, pushing valiantly against the chest, oxygen depleted ever so slightly compared to the sea that sits just a few miles off the banks of the hefty coast. To which Retired Rear Admiral ABC could not even anchor his ship near, as it weighed far too little, the sea alone would of consumed his air boat... He parked it roughly a 3 mile swim outside of the islands range, ropes tied to the bottom of the ocean, and his pets kept safely away from the crushing expanse of this island, Milhouse casually resting on Augustine's steering seat keeping it warm for him. The only pet to accompany the brutal bounty hunter was his muscle frog, Mimsy. The muscle frog is originally of a high pressure area located in Drum Kingdom, so something such as this island should be alright for such a creature... He'd been on this island for roughly 14 hours now. Took him an hour to swim casually with Mimsy's cage balanced casually on his head to protect her from the seawater. He was no where near the docks of this island... He decided to take the farthest possible route for his... Practices. You see a sniper is rarely subjected to serious issues that would detain his own specialty, the island of pressure was one of the only locations in which he could practice the rare occurrence. So he set his dock adjacent to the fabled forest and set up a series of steel targets just outside of the main Outsiders City dock. Roughly a mile away from the town itself... This was late last night, to which he spent the remaining time hiking through the forest with his naturally 150 plus pounded rifle on his back, multiplied by the island itself to which him simply walking was enough to crack the ground. Hours upon hours set up as the morning sun began to rise, and Augustine himself found himself at a point on a far away mountain to where he could comfortably lay down and line up his rifle. He was roughly 3 miles off the ground, on the mid point of one of the Mountains of Pressure that split a prominent part of the City of Wedge with the outlaying cities. Mimsy rest on his shoulder as he dropped his stance to his knees, more so in a buckling manner under the weight, but as he removed the rifle from his back he found himself completely able to handle the pressure as if it was... Just a denser locale, and the extra pounds of his rifle were the overlaying factor in his discomfort. As the stand's of the rifles dug into the ground he went prone onto his stomach and began to look through the scope, the gun extremely difficult to move under the increased weight. Mimsy hopped up to his head and began to croak lightly as he began to look miles off for his targets. He seemed to overcompensate just a bit and his scope traveled just a bit further up, coming eye level with the outlying trade cities docks, a series of strange individuals walking out of the cabin, with just a minor adjustment he could see the flag of the infamous Gokaigers... "Shit." He mumbled in a low voice, as if he was talking through gritted teeth. He let go of the rifle as the barrel slammed down into the side of the cliff, almost cutting it 4 inches deep in weight alone, as he began to dig in his red and grey camouflage pants, pulling out a bounty book to start perusing it. He knew he was probably going to lose some of the targets but he wanted to be sure his compiled notes on the targets were... Accurate before he made any rash decisions... Either way he had pure scope over most of the town. He began to finger through the pages of his larger bounty book, going through series of notes he'd collected from his daily news readings. |

Japhy woke up and immediately knew that they had landed. The pressure of the thick air weighing down on him was far more than anything he had expected, but even more than that, the overwhelming excitement and anticipation also weighed down on his leaden body. He, along with several of a select few members of the crew were going to undergo extensive training in order to become powerful pirates worthy of sailing the grandline. This was one of the first steps toward making Marvelous a household name among the monsters of the seas. It was the first step toward Japhy becoming one of his commanders, and it was the first step toward Gokai Crimson becoming the fastest man in the world. He stepped on to the deck--his steps more labored than anything he could remember--where his captain, Marvelous, announced their harsh training to the rest of the crew. Or Gokai Crimson, Mauve, Blue, and White. I will be joining you all here soon, but first I have something very important to do on this island and then I'll find you all again. And remember. We're pirates, try and have some fun while we're here, otherwise, what's the point?" Japhy was utterly thrilled. He knew his captain was telling him and others among the crew to take the initiative while he ran his errands. Japhy felt the jitters run up and down his spine. He didn't know what to do, but on whatever island he landed on, trouble always found him. He gave Marvelous a quick salute and then bumped fists with his buddy Getsuei. "Allright! Lets do this! Crewmembers, lets get things situated... You know, the usual set up. Then we need to explore the island and have fun as the captain said. Heru, I need you to come with me to scout out the island. We will report back soon." With that, Japhy burst off the deck with the pint sized scout behind him. She did well to keep up, but he wasn't running at full speed--not yet. The air in his lungs was stressed, and his footsteps were much heavier than he experienced walking. I don't know how fast I can go, but I am going to find out. After all, this is the perfect training ground for a speeder. Japhy spotted a mountain in the distance that overlooked the entire island. The mountainside was beside itself in efflorescent depths of trees and foliage, but it was on the other side of the town--so they would get a bit of scouting done running through the main streets, and the vantage point would be priceless. It would be the perfect place for Heru to use her skills in scouting to get the lay of the land. He stopped just outside of the port, taking a few shallow breaths from the short labor, and waited for her to catch up. It took a few seconds, and by all measures, that was rather impressive of her. She stopped beside him and took a deep breath. "Heru, you are one of the best scouts we have. I need to take you where we can put your skills to use." As he pointed up, the sun rising from the east gleamed in his eyes and his finger lead indiscriminately to the sky above. "You are going to fly me to the stratosphere??? No offense, but I don't think you can do that..." The dark skinned girl had a confused look on her face. "No. No. No!" He readjusted his arm and pointed to the cliff. "Up there, on top of that mountain. That is where we will go." Japhy got to his knees. "Here get on." The scout paused, but it was brief. She climbed on his back--piggy back style, and waited for him to make him to stand. Now, Japhy wasn't the strongest crewmember, but he knew that Heru was one of the youngest and lightest crew members that they had. On top of her proficiency in scouting, that is why he chose her to come with him. As Japhy got to his feet, the pressure of the island made the girl seem much heavier than he expected. This island keeps getting more and more intense. Hopefully, my lungs can hold out long enough for me to get through the jungles and up to the top of that mountain. "This is where my training begins. Hold on Heru, because it is full speed from here on out!" Edited by Cakes O Japhy, Dec 21 2017, 03:19 AM.

Suigetsu leaned against the side of the lower level doorway on the deck of the Galleon. He had his arms crossed and a scowl on his face as he looked out at the island ahead of them. This place was a drag. He was wearing his normal outfit and on top of that he had a black cloak with red clouds. The cloak reached to his neck with the collar popped and extended down to his knees. He had it loosely wrapped around his shoulders and his white hair was styled differently than normal, parted down the middle into two balls of spikes on either side of his head. It was a new style for him but one he had reluctantly tried at Absol's request. Outwardly he projected an aura of cool collected but in his mind he was not so calm. Holy hell what the **** is the atmosphere on this island!? It feels like I'm breathing mud. What monster created an island like this!? He screamed in his mind as his scowl twisted even further. And geez this guy Marvelous was standing there talking like it wasn't bothering him at all. Just how freakishly strong was this guy anyway? I admit I've slacked in my training a bit lately but I'm a master swordsman proficient in several disciplines. I trained in below zero temperatures and climbed mountains with my bare hands. I have a devil fruit. What makes him so much stronger? In fact... That mad doctor was pretty strong too back on zombie terrain. Maybe i can do with some more intense workouts while i'm here. I won't get overshadowed by these freaks! He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It was haggered and rough but he forced it down. Then he exhaled and did it again. Overcome the pain with will. Training is nothing. Will is everything. Suigetsu did this for a few moments before standing up off the wall and walking over to where Ikamichi was. He placed a hand on her shoulder and grinned. "Keep your wits about you. We all have business to attend to on this island. Stick by me if you're concerned." He tried to reassure her as he turned to the rest of the crew. "A few of you, come with White and I. We'll head inland to the town. Once we find a place to settle down, I'll give you lucky ones your first training." He said slyly as he held back a snicker. |

Getsuei covered his eyes as the wind whipped up once Marvelous launched himself off the ship. Well that's just great. Getseui thought as he turned to the rest of the crew. Japhy had taken off, seemingly unaffected by the thick, warped air as he headed into the woods. "Uh actually I have some business on the island as well, to restock the ship, so can I recommend Kalifa to be a boss in my place? She does seem to be capable, after all." Getseui frowned at the young fishwoman and prepared to speak. However surprisingly Suigetsu spoke up. The loner ex-assassin who rarely got involved in crew affairs actually took some initiative without being a dick about it. "Wonders never cease" Getseui whispered under his breath as Kalifa spoke up. The Bright Blonde haired woman had been silent up till this point, standing at attention as was her custom and letting others take charge. She didn't enjoy being separated from Marvelous but if he wished her to stay with these people then she supposed it was fine. She turned to Ikamichi after Suigetsu spoke. "I appreciate your vote of confidence greatly. But Marvelous instructed you to be a leader over me. I must respect his wishes. You should as well, i think. I can see you are struggling with this air pressure but that does not make you unfit to lead. There is more to leadership than strength after all." She smiled at the slighty shorter woman and shifted the large backpack she was carrying over her usual outfit of purple crop top and baggy purple pants. "I would be more than happy, to assist you however, Ikamichi." "Agreed" Getseui butted in. "It may not make much sense to you now, but Marvelous gave you this responsibility for a reason. And we trust you to carry it out successfully." He addressed the rest of the crew who were nodding in agreement and directed them to follow them out into the forest. "Japhy and Heru will make it to the town on their own. The rest of us stick together. We probably can't move as fast as those guys did so lets take our time and be prepared for whatever might come out at us." Getseui was expecting the air to be difficult to deal with here but in truth it was worse than he thought it would be. Just that amount of speech had taken a lot out of him. Looking around though he noted that Kalifa seemed to barely be struggling at all. He knew looks could be deceiving but it still caught him off guard with how well she seemed to be holding up. Especially in comparison to Suigetsu who thought he hadn't noticed his little breathing exercises a minute ago. As they headed down into the forest area, the ship having been anchored and secured with John and Jake staying behind to watch Getsuei drew his unnamed sword and cut into some brush as he led the way. The forest was wild and unkempt. Thin, sickly trees littered the way as no man made path seemed to exist from this dock to civilization. The sun was getting high in the sky by now and he wiped his brow with the back of his left hand as he moved forward. The bobble of an unmistakably bright blonde bushel of hair caught his attention from his left as he noticed Kalifa walked along silently. He decided to try to strike up a conversation. "Uh, so Kalifa, have you done any hand to hand combat training before? You seem to be holding up pretty well under these conditions. I'm impressed." he said with his trademark smile. Kalifa returned his smile but just silently walked ahead of him. "We need to get to the city. Then the weaker ones can rest." She said emotionlessly as her hair bobbled out of view again. |

As she continued to walk around the island, while she was a bit nervous that she still was supposed to be in charge, she was at least okay that Kalifa and Getsuei were nearby to help her. As the group entered a forest and looked their way through the woods, she could hear Kalifa's suggestion to find the main city, but since she did not know where to go, Ikamichi decided to just stay silent and continue to listen to them, at least until they eventually found a city. After a while of roaming through the forest, it seemed like the crew was beginning to get hungry, but luckily for them, eventually Ikamichi could see some walled-in city in the distance. While Ikamichi was unsure of what to do, she thought that it would probably be good to at least try to find a entrance. Turning to Kalifa, Ikamichi said to her "Hey, I'm going to go look for a entrance to whatever is behind these walls. Once we're inside, I'm gonna need some help with gathering and carrying groceries, but other than that I think everyone else should rest." Before Ikamichi could begin to look, she was stopped by Mei, who said to her ""Hold up. I'll come with, since I assume we'll need someone to peacefully negotiate things." While Ikamichi was worried about Mei's safety, considering that she looked like she was in even worse shape than herself due to the pressure, Ikamichi decided to take her with her anyway, asking Kalifa to carry Mei in case the pressure became too much for her. Thankfully, after a few minutes of searching, Mei was the first one to spot the entrance to the capital city, but as Ikamichi took her time to look through the entrance she saw there were two guards blocking the entrance. Walking up to the entrance with Mei and Kalifa, Ikamichi said to the guards "Excuse me, but we are a group known as the Gokaigers, and we need a place to stay since we're going to be on this island for a while. Do you mind if we enter so that we can get some temporary housing?" Waiting for a answer, Ikamichi was somewhat surprised to see the guards then hold up their spears and cross them, blocking the entrance. "So your the Gokaigers that we have heard about from the Wanted Posters, then? Well, it does not matter whether you are a Pirate or Marine, you will not be allowed in our walls unless you can beat one of our challengers. Now either you go fight and beat one of our challengers, or scram!" |

Japhy started towards the capital with Heru on his back. The pressure was truly something else, but rather than take it easy, the crimson haired speeder opted to push himself. Harder and harder were the strides that followed--his lungs swelling to the point of being sore, but that didn't matter. He had to get stronger. I can take a quick breather once we reach the capital, and then it will be a straight shot to the mountain. This journey will make or break me. This is the Grandline after all! As the edge of the capital drew closer, Japhy also came into a view of an odd establishment. Rows of outhouses, seemingly made of wood, lined his most direct trajectory to the city ahead. It was an odd sight to be sure as the briefing on the island clearly stated that all buildings on the island be made of steel so that they may withstand the pressure, and yet these outhouses while being a bit beat up seemed to remain sturdy under the intensity of Pressure Island's unique climate. He came upon them and in doing so realized just how many outhouses were in the wide dirt path. What the hell is this???? "Are you seeing this Heru?" Japhy asked as a curious look overtook his strained face. "Yeah it seems really weird," she answered. "What are all these outhouses doing outside the city?" "They are also made of wood..." As the approached the massive dual row of outhouses on both sides of the path, a flushing sound echoed from the first row. Then another. And another. And another--all the way down the line. Big bruisers of men began to exit the outhouses and block Japhy's path, and forcing him to stop in his tracks. The majority of them all dwarfed him and each of them had thick sticks and club-like weapons, all of which looked as though they could break bones with ease given a powerful swing. What the hell is going on around here!? Who are these scary looking guys? Japhy whispered to Heru, "Stay behind me. I have a responsibility to keep you safe." One of the brawny men stepped forward. "Do you know where you are outlander?" "Pressure Island....uhhhh Mr. Outhouser?" Japhy answered--not quite sure what he was being asked. "We are the Outhouse Men! Defenders of the Capital of Pressure Island. No one gets past this point without hearing our flush and then our challenge! Only the strong may continue." With a cocky attitude and a smug smile, Japhy began to disengage from the obvious threat before him the same way he often did in the past. "Well I wouldn't say I'm super ultra mega strong, but I am pretty powerful as far as powerful pirates go. The name is Japhy, also known and feared as the Crimson Blur. With that being said, I don't think any of you have the ability to keep up with me so I'll spare you and find another way into the city." The crimson haired pirate's inherent cockiness drew sour looks from the crowd of bruisers. Even Heru, Japhy's only ally, gave him a sideways look. Beads of sweat ran down Japhy's face, now not only from exertion, but also the nerves of getting his ass kicked by a mob of angry men who didn't believe his bullshit quips. The main speaker from the group of Outhouse Men smiled. "Oh? The Crimson Blur??? I guess you made the choice easy for us. None of us will fight you." Both Japhy and Heru were a little shocked to hear that reply. Today was probably their lucky day. They weren't going to have to fight any of the major hulking testosterone-loving juice-heads in front of them. Yes!!! Japhy thought to himself. I really got away with that one huh? I can't believe it! I am a great pirate!! "Well, I think you all made the wise move, just allowing us to pass. I am glad to not get my pant's too dirty, we are surely in your debt." Japhy said with a smile on his face as he began to walk forward. No one moved. Japhy stopped a few feet shy of the group of larger men and tilted his head confused. "Like I said, you won't be fighting us...You will be fighting the boss to earn your passage to the capital! Both of you will." A large gastric sound erupted from the row of outhouses. It was a monstrosity of a bowl movement. Just hearing it made Japhy, Heru, and even a few of the Outhouse Men cringe. What have I gotten myself into? What horrible man made such a sound!?!?!? A toilet flush came and the riffraff of men began to part in subservience to its rippling echo. "Only the strong may pass this point!!!!" A loud voice said. Japhy looked out along the path of outhouses, but saw no one. His eyes peeled each of the generic wooden outhouses, but there was no movement. Where is this monster!?!?!? A door kicked open, or at least, that's what it sounded like. As the crimson haired speeder followed the noise, his eyes encroached a tiny outhouse no taller than his knee. A little man stomped out of the miniature outhouse wearing a black suit with suspenders and a red bow-tie. Japhy couldn't believe his eyes. "A dwarf!?!?!?!?!?!? A fucking dwarf is your boss!?!?!?!?" "You have a big mouth Crimson Blur. My name is Poppy, and I am the strongest of the Outhouse Men! You will not pass without defeating me." "I guess your Outhouse Men aren't as tough as they look, if you are their mighty leader..." Japhy set Heru down and stood up tall. He pointed down at the dwarf who could probably fit his whole body inside of Japhy's sneakers. "I will make this quick!" The stare down between the two combatants was electric--even the thick air surrounding them seemed to visibly break from the flaring disdain. Heru grabbed Japhy's shoulder. "Maybe I should give you a hand. After all, some opponents are stronger than they seem. Just look at me, I'm small." "No!" Japhy quipped. "It is my duty to protect you. I will face this fearsome foe with all the might of Gokai Crimson!" The speeder burst toward the dwarf with a punch cocked and ready to unload. He wasn't at his top speed, but he figured it would be enough to deal with such an enemy. He was wrong... The first punch of Japhy was easily blocked by the Dwarf. "Not bad Crimson Blur... You may have even been on par with one of the weaker Outhouse Men!" Poppy grabbed Japhy's wrist with both hands and in a physics-defying feat of strength, ripped Japhy off of his feet and hurled him a dozen meters in the air, and into one of the sturdy outhouses. Upon hitting the side of the outhouse, Japhy quickly realized that whatever the structures were made of, it was much stronger than any wood he had ever encountered before--it was like hitting steel. The crimson haired pirate bounced off of the hard outhouse structure and landed on the dirt below. The wind was knocked out of him, and he found it hard to breathe, let alone get up. "What was that?" Japhy coughed. "These outhouses are made from local trees. Everything on this island lives under one rule--it must be strong. To grow on this island, the trees must be stronger than anywhere else. We call the wood we harvest from said trees, 'Steel Bark.'" The crowd of Outhouse Men cheered out at their leader's showing of power. Edited by Cakes O Japhy, Dec 24 2017, 10:07 PM.

Suigetsu walked along relatively quietly as they moved forward. With the swordsman leading the way he decided to bring up the rear in case of an attack or ambush from behind. Not that he cared about this fodder that they were lugging around for some reason but it would just be a bigger pain if half of them were wiped out before he had a chance to react. It would just mean less pawns to use as bait in the real fight. And it gave him a chance to practice some movement training and awareness drills in the meantime. He wasn't a fan of the jungle and these dense trees were a real pain in the ass to deal with. "Geez, i'm starting to miss the zombies already." he muttered under his breath as the walked along. Though it looked as if the path was clearing out ahead he still found himself getting nicked and tagged by hanging branches and random shrubbery as they moved along. One downside of carrying such a large blade was that movement was oftentimes somewhat restricted. He decided to try another approach to this trek after putting several tears in his new cloak already. He would travel above them in the trees from branch to branch. This way he could get a birds eye view of the group and cover more territory with his eyes. The weak ones of the crew were lagging so far behind that even though the air was still a factor for him and causing some discomfort, as long as he focused on his breathing exercises he would handle the air without too much difficultly. After taking some time to adjust to it, the feeling was different. At first it had felt as if his breath was being taken from him, that breathing was like trying to rip a chunk of meat off of a dry carcass of an animal. After gathering himself and meditating, the breathing had become easier, it felt like breathing in a heavy fog constantly. Beads of sweat poured down his face as he gripped the bark of a tree with his left hand and began pulling himself up. Man, normally i could jump straight up into one of these. Now climbing it feels like digging out of my own grave. This island is insane. Why would anyone live here?"Alright old man lets do this!" he told himself and with a grunt of effort, he leapt from the top branch of the tree he'd climbed ahead to the next one, bringing up the rear of the group. 20 minutes later Suigetsu landed on a branch with a heavy thud. Falling onto the thick log with his entire body he lay face first against the bark, looking down at the group stopped near the gates to the city. Ikamichi was speaking with a guard it appeared. Suigetsu's face was drenched in sweat and he felt it all down his back and chest as well. He breathed heavily, gulping air like a fish out of water. This had been much harder than he had anticipated. Groaning in pain he could see that for the most part the crew was holding up well, though many were on the ground as well, trying to catch their breath. Through panting breathes he smiled to himself and made a remark, "Ok, maybe i'm more out of shape than i thought." "So your the Gokaigers that we have heard about from the Wanted Posters, then? Well, it does not matter whether you are a Pirate or Marine, you will not be allowed in our walls unless you can beat one of our challengers. Now either you go fight and beat one of our challengers, or scram!" Suigetsu's ears perked up at this challenge and summoned his willpower. He briefly turned into liquid and reformed, eliminating the sweat from his body and removing any trace of his struggle from the journey. Suddenly Shark Fin would stab into the ground next to Ikaimichi and Suigetsu would drop down in front of her. "A challenger you say? Perfect. Bring the ground meat here to meet the edge of my blade." Suigetsu said and grinned, baring his sharp teeth at the guard. This would be a perfect opportunity to test himself, no recovery time and going right into a battle. His teachers would be proud. This is training, this is how you grow stronger. From this moment on, he would push himself hard every second! |

He had the names... He had the bounties, he had his notes, now he just needed the shot... And as he lifted the heft of the rifle once more to the boat it seemed that the mark worth anything had disappeared. "In hindsight, should of trailed him long enough to trigger better predictions." He said with a smirk through the grit of his teeth with a slight drop of the rifle, panning over the ship he was looking for more noteworthy marks but only found his underlings, which varied in small bounties... Were they worth enough dead? No... But that did raise a question, why was everyone splitting up? The notes line up... They were notorious for spanning an entire island and causing "chaos" as the headlines were quick to bold... So... Where was everyone going? Running his sight-lines following Japhy he noticed that the two were heading towards his direction to try and get to the main town, he made a mental note of his position as he drew his sights over to Ikamichi and Suigetsu who, while a distance apart were both in the vicinity of the gates to the town that was being protected so powerfully by the Pressure Guard. It looked like all of their goals were to infiltrate the town in some manner, although reading the facial expressions of everyone... They didn't hold with them that air of brevity that those of pure evil seemed to carry deep within their brow. He's seen it happen before, men invade an island, war in their eyes, blood in their hearts. But no... The Gokaiger's weren't here for war. In fact it seemed like most of them were a little... Out of their league on this island. Of course not barring the strength of Marvelous himself. Gokaiger Red was infamous for his aboriginal tolerance... He let out a sigh as he dropped his rifle again, indenting the rock under the increased weight of his gun, as he sat up looked over the edge towards the bottom of the mountain, those outhouses he passed so casually climbing up the mountain were shown to be occupied. Of course they were asleep when he was passing by, and Augustine himself is a rather quiet individual, so they didn't notice him. To be fair he was also avoiding the other side of the mountain which is occupied by Pressure Island Monks... He was confident in his abilities to beat them but not in his abilities to remain a hidden wonder of the strange land... He took a deep and heavy breath in as he slowly placed himself back into a prone position, in silence he wandered the scope down to the base-line of the mountain where the line of outhouses sat. He began to count the rounds he brought with him today... Pressure Island would trigger over half of his munitions so he had to leave some of them on the ship... Ghosting Munitions he had... He brought his Battering Rounds, that would do for what he was thinking. As he lined up his sight-line with Japhy he met the eyes of the dwarf as it was exiting the outhouse. Slowly moving his sights to Japhy's eyes he could tell that... The boy had a slight chance, but there was something deeper inside of him, some sort of inner turmoil that Augustine couldn't put a pin in... After a brief pause he placed his finger on the trigger and took a deep breath... The pirate didn't deserve to die, he lined up loosely to a bounty poster, to which he assumed was him despite wearing some carrot mask... But he wasn't guilty of anything terrible, a clean slate, a citizen of the sea so Augustine decided... With a slight aim down, he aimed just a few feet behind the dwarf. He took a deep breath and waited... Should Japhy go in for some attack that made even remotely enough noise to suppress his rifles sounds he would fire a Battering Round 10 feet behind the dwarf leader, causing a triple pulse in the ground which would cause enough of a dip in the thick earth for Japhy to capitalize in some manner. Mimsy sat atop his frazzled hair croaking away at Augustines decision to see if these pirates were worth trusting enough to put a little trust into... To see if the notes he had were more Heroic than Murderous brigands of the sea. He would bet his chips on the first... Of course should Japhy never make a move for the boss after originally getting messed up on the outhouse Augustine would hold his aim, and do nothing. Japhy was capable of winning this... He just needed a little self confidence, a little outside push from an eye in the sky. |

Japhy got up reluctantly, fighting both the otherworldly gravity and also the demeaning cheers of the Outhouse Men. He hadn't expected poppy to be so strong. Just from that one encounter, it was clear that Poppy's strength surpassed his own. If he didn't want to be hurled around like a rag doll until he spit out his own entrails from concussive injury, then he would need to fight smarter. "Is that all you got, Big Poppy? Didn't I tell you? I am the Crimson Blur, you cannot defeat me." Japhy smiled and flipped off the dwarf. While the crowd of Outhouse Men showed their disgust at Japhy's obscene gesture, the crimson haired pirate turned his head briefly to Heru and nodded. "I'm going to enjoy putting you in your place." Poppy replied. Both fighters began running toward each other--a fierce clash seemingly inevitable as the distance closed. Poppy jumped in the air to about the level of Japhy's face with a punch wound up. Bam The air cracked with the punch and Japhy was seemingly gone. The crowd looked on confused. As Japhy appeared behind the pint sized bruiser, Poppy couldn't help but smirk as he shifted his weight--turning his body for another strike. As he turned, he was met with a the firm heel of a size 6 sneaker and sent flying. "Yes Heru! That's what I'm talking about!" He proclaimed jumping up emphatically and rocketing his excited fist in the air. "I told you that you would need my help." Japhy smiled at her. "Well, I don't think this fight is over, but I think we've got this." Just as Japhy said that to her, a loud crack came from where the dwarf had landed. As the two pirates turned to face their foe, they watched as he uprooted one of the outhouses from the ground with ease--toilet and all, and held it over his head with his mighty strength. Sewage spewed from the backside of the outhouse in pumping spouts. "So that's how we're going to play huh? Okay! This should be fun!" Poppy hurled the heavy steelbark structure towards the two pirates with a hulking display of strength. The structure hit the hard dirt with a massive crash, and with the force and weight behind it, the sewage burst out and made a miniature wave of stink and flying debris headed straight for Heru and Japhy. The crimson haired pirate instinctively grabbed Heru, and at full speed got her out of the way of the incoming attack. While the two pirates avoided the foul outhouse wave, Poppy wasted no time grabbing a piece of broken steel bark and wiji-boarding the murky poop water toward them. It was a scary sight to be sure as the mean looking dwarf skidded towards their position. "Get out of the way Heru!!!" Japhy yelled as the dwarf appeared on top of them once more. He took the time to push her out of the way before receiving an eyeful of sewage splash followed by a powerful punch to the gut. Japhy flew a dozen feet from his position and into one of the surrounding Outhouse Men spectators who was also taken out by the impact. Japhy got his knees and started coughing profusely as he tried to regain some of the air that was lost to him in the strike. His insides pulsed up against the frame of his body as if they were crying out in pain. Damn it! That took all of my air. It was so powerful, I can hardly register how gross that was. One more hit like that...I can't take another hit like that or I am through. He struggled to stand up after such a blow. "Japhy!!!" Heru yelled in concern. Poppy chuckled as he walked casually over to where Japhy landed. "I can't beat you huh? You can hardly stand! You have no place on this island!" The outhouse men cleared a path and Japhy couldn't do anything but wait for his opponent to come. As Poppy closed in on the Crimson Haired pirate, Heru descended upon him with a flurry of punches and kicks. All were met with blocks and redirection. Poppy caught her final punch, and just as he did to Japhy, hurled her into one of the nearby structures. She slumped up against the hard wood of the outhouse and had difficulty getting up. To Japhy, that was the worst thing that could have possibly happened. How many times did he say he would protect her? He would not let her take another blow! He would not lose this fight! "That was a mistake Poppy! I may not be a strong fighter, and I may not be the most honest person, but I will not tolerate you hurting my friends!!!" Japhy stood up tall and wiped the disgusting wet from his brow. "Try catching me this time Potty Poppy Pooper Mother Fucker!!!!" The pirate began to streak within the near-by area in a loop around his opponent. At full speed, four after-images appeared and it appeared as though five Japhy's were circling the dwarf. Poppy attempted a swing at what he thought was the real Japhy, but was met with only empty space. Japhy took the opportunity to strike. The crimson haired man slid behind his dwarf foe and pulled two shells from his pouches. He placed them against the back of his opponent. "Crimson AXE-cution!!!!!" The blow was tremendous. Even at point-blank range, the sharp air--each shaped like an 'x'--from the dials was visible against the tiny dwarf's muscular body. Poppy spit out a significant amount of blood and stumbled forward. He turned back towards Japhy with frail legs and a shocked expression. Japhy who at this point was breathing extremely hard looked down at the dwarf with enraged eyes. "I think we will pass now." "Whaaaa...." Poppy said, before being punched mid-sentence by Heru and knocked unconscious. The Outhouse men were all quiet, and in awe of the fight that had transpired. |

Augustine looked down towards the fight that progressed, while the Crimson Blur definitely possessed higher speed quality than strength he was still quite easy to track with the trained eye of Augustine, and it seemed that he didn't need his help overcoming a dwarf in the first place. Which was weird, usually the fabled fairies were both inately powerful and speedy in their own reserves, it's possible that if he was a Pressure Island native though he may be more geared towards insane feats of strength. Augustine took his hand to the crank and rotated it to eject the round from the chamber, as he took the clip off and packed the still fresh bullet into the clip. He didn't need to fire, and it wasn't safe letting this weapon go loaded on a high pressure island such as this, there was no safety on a weapon this powerful besides the knowledge of the shooter. Augustine took his sights over to the other party at the gate real quick and saw that it was just... A bunch of conversation of some sort, which in the end the Pressure Island guards would have to initiate that fight. Mimsy hopped down onto the scope of his rifle and croaked, looking towards the horizon thoughtlessly. He let out a sigh as he looked at his frog and rest his head on the firm, yet toasted stone ground with his eyes shut. He knew why he was here, it was to test his sights when he was under a high pressure area, to learn the trajectory of the bullets and how it was affected in what could be compared to a high gravity situation. But... The Gokaigers presence at the base of the mountain and the sound of his rifle alone would only give him one shot to learn which means... He would have to think about the second reason he was here. That was to observe the deeper parts of Pressure Islands ecosystem to look for a Muscle Frog-like species... In Drum Kingdom they were deep under the earth in high pressure heated caves, and Mimsy here was the last of her kind on that island. If there was going to be some clue to the genus then it was going to be here... He took another deep breath and moved the loose rocks with his heavy breaths. The pressure under the rocks would be too much for even the Muscle Frog species. Which meant they would be native to the upper sector if anywhere. Somewhere damp, heavily dense foliage, cave-like in nature but not within the mountains. With this he put his head up and looked down to Japhy and the defeated dwarf through the scope, and made up his mind. Based on geographical data, the Muscle Frog wouldn't live within the forest, even as dense as it was due to the dangerous animals that wandered about, if they would be anywhere they would be somewhat domesticated in a marsh-like area within the town's outskirts. Which meant he needed to get in, and there was nothing easier than the fights he just witnessed. After standing up and grabbing his rifle he jammed the barrel into the side of the mountain and placed his legs on the side of the mountain, using the weight of the rifle to regulate a strong, yet fast slide miles down the mountain, the changes of pressure were quite sickening even to the sniper, but within 3 minutes of quick sliding from his extremely high vantage point he landed at the base, and drew his rifle from the stone, a dangerous line shown from its path straight and narrow, almost 2 miles long. The outhouse boys were quickly frightened, of course, after seeing their leader defeated by Skypeian technology they should be by themselves, but the sound of the soft thud that came from August's masterful landing freaked them out. Mimsy hopped from the scope onto his shoulder as he looked at the group of men through his thick amber sunglasses, staring cold into their souls as he placed his rifle across his back, the close to 500 pound rifle (as per this islands immense pressure) hanging tight across his cross-section. He crossed his arms as he kept staring, hair blowing heavily in the wind and snarl on his upper lip. Through his gritted teeth he swapped his focused gaze onto Japhy with an intense blood-lust between his glasses and him. "I'm going in with him." He said through closed teeth with an intense growl in his voice, as if he was challenging the outhouse men to try and challenge him. "And you're coming with me Blur." He said, the man was quite proficient in reading lips while he was sniping, especially when the characters he observed were so... Verbal. He was going to kill two birds with one stone, he was going to observe the town freely, while learning more about these Gokaigers, whether they wanted to reveal their information or not. Of course he was not the most polite of people, but then again former Rear Admiral ABC never was. Professional. Professional was what he was. He wasn't in his bounty hunting gear so he couldn't be so easily recognized as anyone but a retired Marine Sniper through two wars. But that didn't mean he wasn't still sizing his marks up. If they were truly a violent lot they deserved death so that the innocent of Pressure Island may not be overcome, but if they were heroes in disguised as the stories of scattered civilians save... Well they could be critical allies in that case. Only one way to find out. |

Japhy and Heru had finally defeated the brawny strength-based dwarf, and with such a victory came an uncertainty as to what the remaining Outhouse Men would do once they overcame their shock. Thud. A man with a gun landed at the scene with seemingly expert precision of approach and stunned the crowd of brutes further. Japhy was also stunned--he hadn't seen where the man came from, and the landing all but proved that he was far more competent than this lot. Who the hell is this guy? I can't do another fight....Not yet anyways. And besides, I don't know why, but this guy seems tougher than even Poppy. Japhy thought to himself. "I'm going in with him," the man declared to the crowd with an authoritative tone. The large riffraff mob took a step back at the declaration. After seemingly forcing all the Outhouse Men to back down with attitude alone, the man turned to Japhy. "And you're coming with me Blur." Japhy had to play this carefully. What do you do when a man with a gun seemingly floats down from nowhere and commands you to go with him? He might not be able to run from this man as he was tired from running and fighting. On top of that, he had to think about Heru's safety as well as his own. That was the most important thing after all. Perhaps he could feel out the man's intentions and that would make things more clear. "Where exactly are we going, mister... I'm sorry, I am afraid that I don't know your name." Heru grabbed the crimson haired pirate's sleeve. "I have a bad feeling about this Japhy. Be careful, I know how your wild antics are, but this is not the time." she whispered. Japhy stood confidently staring the man in the eyes, waiting for an answer. After mere seconds, the pirate could tell that he was outmatched by the man's gaze alone. Still, he couldn't afford to appear weak--not on this Island. Edited by Cakes O Japhy, Jan 1 2018, 08:29 AM.

Augustine kept a solid face focused hard on Japhy, and it would seem he was capable of attempting the same, trying to save himself the weakness that was fear in its own regards. An unknown variable walking among his own life, impeded and unwanted. He seemed to be waiting rather impatiently as if he was waiting for a certain protocol to be followed... And of course there was supposed to be such a protocol the Outhouse Men were supposed to call in the Blurs victory so the guards could be prepared for them. As his head turned to one of the weaker of the gang he lifted his lip just a bit and let out a deep low growl deep from his gut. The Outhouse Man immediately dove into one of the outhouses and made the call on a den den mushi he had propped inside. He went back to a lowered, slightly more respectfully gaze on Japhy, yet he did have a bad habit of staring at everyone, so his gaze was fixed on the boy, behind those amber tinted glasses. As Japhy came to ask a few questions August was under the impression that he didn't need to answer them for anything but comfort. Now Augustine wasn't one to usually lie, but him giving information out willy nilly would just put himself at a disadvantage and he wasn't about to do anything of the sort. "Call me Camo." He said with a stern outlook, not wanting to use his bounty hunting nickname, or any of his marine nicknames. He said crossing his arms waiting for the Outhouse Man to finish his call. As he exited from the outhouse he had his hands up sweating and gave a trembling thumbs up to Augustine. "We're going to the other end of the town, there's a marsh there. That's all you need to know." He said lifting his short sleeved jacket and pulling out a package of presealed jerky, he dug in and opened his gritted teeth slightly as he placed a piece in his mouth, he tossed one to the outhouse man and two to Japhy and Heru respectively. "Let's go." He said through grinding noises of jerky under his teeth, the pressure made it easier to get through the tough leather-like texture, and its salty taste enveloped Augusts mouth with a small sense of comfort among himself, he was unsure if the others would look at his gesture as kindness or possible poisoning... But that was on them. As he walked to the mountains base he stepped and looked behind him, jerky hanging out of his mouth. He had a really serious look twinging across his nose, flaring up. "Sidenote Blur. Don't mark me anywhere near these men, I even smell those axe dials flaring up, you won't be the only to suffer." He said putting his thumb and forefinger on the jerky hanging out of his mouth as he ripped it in half and tossed the other half on the left side of his mouth. He made a brisk pace up the mountain, the mountainside entrance was in a fork off the way he took to get into his vantage position, he just needed to walk forward from there and the kid should be able to do the rest... And if he doesn't well that would be a problem, and August doesn't like problems like that. He had his hand masterfully on his rifles sash and his other hand rolling around in his pocket, a few clips lined up carefully inside, he had his hands casually in his pockets resting on the clip, that hand solidified with haki and one finger tucked into his clip with his expensive regular bullets. If the animals were going to decide to finally start shit with him on this island he'd just have to free hand his shots, the rifle was really heavy and he still hadn't fired it so his first shot wasn't going to fly as straight as he could expect, so it wasn't a preference of use at this moment. He'd rely on his basic marine instincts and his own prowess here. |

Who is this guy, who with a single sentence makes all these men run back to their toilets and hide??? Something tells me, that out of all the Gokaigers, I might be in the worst position right now. Japhy looked at Heru who seemed to be scared and unsure herself. The second worst position... "Call me Camo," the man answered. Such a vague name didn't put Japhy at ease. "We're going to the other end of the town, there's a marsh there. That's all you need to know." Camo said lifting his short sleeved jacket and pulling out a package of pre-sealed jerky before digging in and opening his gritted teeth slightly to place a piece in his mouth. Camo tossed one to the Outhouse Men and two to Japhy and Heru respectively. "Let's go." This was the worst case scenario for a pirate. Camo could be a an important and powerful off-duty Pressure Guard, a corrupt pirate, a high-level bounty hunter, a disguised revolutionary, Cipher Pol, ect. Japhy had no way of knowing. And yet, both he and Heru were forced to follow this man under the threat of their very lives and freedom. What have I gotten us into? I can't bluff my way out...this guy seems to be the no-bullshit type. I can't run, not with Heru anyways... "Sidenote Blur. Don't mark me anywhere near these men, I even smell those axe dials flaring up, you won't be the only to suffer." Camo's threat was well heard, but all in all, Japhy was a difficult customer. And he has seen me fight at full strength!?!?!?!? Of course!!!! Just my luck!!!! I have to do something! Japhy looked at Heru who appeared frightened. She had told him not to try any of his antics, but that was all he had. Chaos was the only hope. He would need to wait for the opportune moment. As they walked to the edge of town, Japhy and Heru were all but compliant. It was a silent trek filled with the smell of Camo's jerky, and the perspiration of Japhy's brow and underarms. It was at that moment, that Japhy knew what he needed to do--a long shot was surely in order. They reached the edge of town. Several citizens and many more pressure guard were on either side of the town's entrance. The pressure guard all gave Japhy a suspicious look and started to move towards him. Japhy immediately took a bite of the jerky, and began to fake convulse as he fell to the ground. Japhy mustered some spit from his mouth and some loud gasps for air. "MEAT!?!?!? Uhhughuhhhgah!!!!! There is meat in this jerky!?!?!?!" He gasped a few more times for air and people began to notice. He reached for Camo as the fake seizing began to intensify, "DON'T LET THEM WIN!!!! Ughuhhhgahhhahh!!!!! You must defuse the super bomb!!!!!" He made some emphatic gasps and the Pressure Guard and several citizens drew closer as they overheard the words 'super bomb'--several of the onlookers even expressed shock and panic. "Save the island......" Japhy trailed off--playing dead as best he could and let his body go limp. He tried slowing his breathing, and although painful he managed to do so with determination. This sort of thing was what he was good at. Heru, coming in with a perfect assist knelt down and began her crying. "We have to stop the terrorists, big brother Camo!!!!" Now people were beginning to freak out. |
