海贼王新世界
Account Name: Mithanil
海贼王新世界
Name: Celandine Mithanil (Pronounced: Sel–anne–deen Myth–a–nil) Nickname: N/A Age: 24 Gender: Male Race: Dark Elf Priest (Longear Tribe Warlock) Height: 6'3" (190 cm) Weight: 196 lbs (89 kg) Faction: Bounty Hunter Crew: N/A Reputation: Median Threat – 25,000,000 Profession: Biomedical Scientist (Both a Doctor and a Scientist) Fame: 0 Vessel: N/A Hometown: Whorl Town, Vortex Island
Physical Description: Mithanil's appearance falls in line with his name, looking far more exotic than his Longear heritage would suggest. He has a thick head of straight white hair that he has let grow down past his shoulders. He tends to wear it in a complex braid style that keeps the strands out of his way when performing tasks, but when relaxing he let's his hair out where it falls in a silver mane that tends to frame his face. The color of Mithanil's skin is a sort of darkened desaturated bronze color, making his facial features pop out amongst his mass of hair. Said face contains features generally considered attractive; his cheeks are slender with his cheekbones being well-defined, his lips are very full, being a step away from being called rosebud and have no color difference to the rest of his skin, his nose is straight and aquiline, and most outstanding is his deep amber eyes framed by heavy brows. Lastly Mithanil's ears are elongated and pointed, like the stereotypical image of an elf's. The overall effect lends Mithanil a very serious demeanor and a mysterious air which draws female attention.
While Mithanil has a appealing physique it is not one of a fighter, or at least it wasn't. Of a slightly slender build Mithanil did not have much in the way of muscle definition or volume, yet his short time as a Bounty Hunter and the training required for the occupation has grown his muscles, and Mithanil looks trim and fit, if not overbearingly strong. Still his build lends him a deal of flexibility, agility, and precision that is of great use to one in the Medical profession. Mithanil also has a number of body modifications placed as well; including piercings on either ear as well as a large series of special tattoos that cover almost the entire right half of his body from head to toe. These tattoos are made of a black ink and have a semi-tribal look to them, although anyone who gets the chance to stare at them tend to think there is some kind of meaning amongst them, as if it were a message written on Mithanil's skin. If asked, Mithanil will explain that the tattoos contain religious text concerning purity and sin, a rather macabre tattoo to say the least.
With such a sleek and precise physique it should be no surprise that Mithanil's movements and posture also focus on precision. When standing still Mithanil seems somewhat statuesque, standing as still as possible with his body-weight firmly beneath him and making sure he takes full advantage of his height. This trait continues on even when in motion, Mithanil tending to hold parts of his body still even when in a dead sprint, maintaining a measure of control over his motion. One could indeed see Mithanil performing the "Shinobi" running method with a forward lean and arms flung back. Since he keeps his Medical bag with him almost always Mithanils tends to let his left hand rest on the surface of the bag, holding it steady when he runs and ready to open it and retrieve his medical tools at a moment's notice. Despite his rather attractive features Mithanil does not have much time for social trappings; his facial expressions are few and far between with his normal expression merely relaxing the muscles in his face. Rarely does he laugh, smile, frown, or grimace, and he can seem emotionally repressed at times. His body language is a bit more expressive although generally not showing positive emotion, tending to be a way to cut himself off from others emotionally and socially. Arms folded across his chest is a common sign of irritation or desire to be alone, and Mithanil also tends to stand in a half-combat stance when talking to others, his right foot back as if to minimize his profile.
Clothing: When in his normal clothing Mithanil adopts one of two looks. A typical and stereotypical Doctor's clothing or a more formal dress attire. When wearing his Medical attire Mithanil prefers to keep things simple, and a pair of dark slacks cover his legs, a pair of equally dark dress shoes over white crew socks for his feet, and a simple light tee-shirt underneath the long white labcoat to cover his torso. In his more formal wear he wears a similar yet higher quality pair of black slacks with black dress shoes over silken socks. A very loose silken shirt covers his torso, cut in an almost Renaissance style. Beyond his normal clothing Mithanil will also rely on trench coats and greatcoats when the weather calls for it, and a long cotton scarf for when it's really cold. When not out and about Mithanil enjoys lounging around in what essentially amounts to his pajamas, consisting of a set of black silken pants and shirt for maximum comfort. Finally, Mithanil wears boxer-briefs. Picture: Spoiler: click to toggle
Personality Spoiler: click to toggle Mithanil is your typical introverted intellectual with an unhealthy dose of cynicism and a dash of religious zeal. While his original upbringing was supposed to instill within him a great respect for humanity and life Mithanil's subsequent life after his adopted parents left him have left him far more cynical and pragmatic than they had hoped for. The apparent abandonment of his parents, the persecution at the hands of certain shady characters, and his studies into history have shattered any naivety he may have had, much to his own regret. Where once before he believed that the good Sapients, the people who strove for something more than base nature demanded, were guiding the world forward he now knows that it is the evil Beasts, those who obey only their base desires, who have control of the world. Before his studies Mithanil didn't know what evil was, but has since discovered it to be nearly everywhere, even within himself and other genuinely good people. He believes it takes constant vigilance and effort against evil in order to prevent the world from slipping deeper into darkness; that beastly people and things were out there just waiting for a chance to oppress and take advantage of the innocent and naive. This cynicism shapes most of Mithanil's interactions with people and fuels his introversion.
With such low faith in most of humanity it should be no surprise that Mithanil doesn't like interacting with others as much as most. Social interactions drain Mithanil's "emotional energy" of which he has much less than the average person, meaning extended social interaction with others will eventually exhaust him. This particular type of exhaustion deteriorates his mood quickly, and Mithanil will often cut interactions short if he notices his mood begin to drop so as not to be too impolite towards people. Even before he becomes tired Mithanil may come off as somewhat rude, especially towards those who he deems are "Beasts", and is prone to saying things that are outlandish to others through either apathy or ignorance of social norms. A byproduct of his self-imposed isolation from others. There are people and situations that Mithanil is much more comfortable with, mostly when interacting with fellow intellectuals, and in those situations he can enjoy himself. No matter the situation though Mithanil tends to be very quiet and reserved, taking a great deal of provocation before he loses his temper.
Mithanil is also an avid collector of knowledge of all kinds but especially of the academic variety such as Physics and Philosophy. Whenever he is given the chance Mithanil will gladly use his down-time to refine his knowledge of the world through books and other texts, and also by studying the world in real time. Indeed much like most researchers he enjoys field work; isolation combined with learning and adventure? Sign Mithanil up. People who are superior to him in a field of knowledge immediately earn his respect, and handing him a piece of information he hadn't had before is a simple way to get on his good side. He'll naturally gravitate towards those who are fellow intellectuals in social situations, because if he has to deal with people he wants it to be someone he can speak on the same topic together. Mithanil doesn't have an inflated ego over his intellect but he does find himself thinking that he is much smarter than a number of people around him from time to time. When dealing with people of small intellect Mithanil will try to speak at their level but isn't very good at it, often eliciting outrage at the perceived slight against them for "talking over their head".
Despite his great amount of cynicism and lack of faith in the world Mithanil is still a genuinely good person. While his judgment towards "Beastly" people is harsh Mithanil does not have an ingrained desire to harm these people, instead wishing only to separate them from those they're likely to hurt and from Mithanil himself. Although if a person proves irredeemable Mithanil can commit to end them with lethal finality. With people who are "Sapient" Mithanil has a much more benign mentality. One of the few things that he enjoys doing with others is teaching and learning. Mithanil can fully enjoy teaching people a subject that he is familiar with, although he does prefer to do so on a person to person basis to avoid exhausting his emotional energy in front of a crowd. His skill in the medical field is a prime example of this, for although Mithanil had a genuine interest in Biology it started out only as an academic venture, but once he saw how good doctors were so rare and how many people could be helped with the discipline he stepped his studies up and refined his skill to professional levels. Mithanil also respects those people who show uncommonly strong purpose and devotion; thus he has great respect for many different types of abhumans such as the Minks and Dwarves.
History Spoiler: click to toggle Jarred and Dahlia Mithanil came to Vortex Island from seas unknown to the good people of Whorl Town, and they arrived looking like the most desperate refugees of a bitter war. Ragged clothing and signs of starvation made even the hardest hearts in the town to take pity on the couple, and also because they had with them a small infant boy. The couple refused to give any information on where they had come from or of any details of who they were, simply stating that they wanted to leave their previous lives behind them. Many of the townsfolk had misgivings about the couple, and although they allowed the couple to stay for the sake of the infant in their care they forced them to an abandoned house on the edge of the village. Because there was something strange about the Mithanil's, some unexplained sensation that crept up a person's spine whenever they looked at them. The Mithanil's seemed aware of this fact as well, and once they had settled into their new home they didn't force their company on others very often. That isn't to say they were hermits or recluses, for whenever there was some kind of problem around town they would lend a hand. If a house caught on fire they would help put it out, if a Sun Slug took ill they would help care for it, but even in the middle of labor Jarred and Dahlia seemed to keep to themselves, helping and then immediately retreating back to their home. There was just something...different about them, some intrinsic quality that was just alien to the people of Vortex Island, and the Mithanils knew it. Even their constant assistance seemed to be merely a task to be done without thought. In fact over the years one of the townsfolk who was closer to them than others asked them why they helped out so frequently when everyone was so distrusting and uncomfortable around them, and Dahlia simply turned to the man with a smile and said, "Our purpose is to raise our son in a safe environment. We must ensure this, at any cost." The way she said such a thing sent chills down the townsfolk's spine, and thereafter even he couldn't bring himself to keep close to them. For there was a lethal undertone to the "at any cost" that frightened him.
As for Celandine himself, he was raised in a relatively normal manner, with a few exceptions. The first was that he knew that he was adopted since he was six. Jarred and Dahlia had sat him down then to explain; telling Celandine that he was not their birth child, but that he was still their chosen child. Indeed Dahlia in particular treated Celandine with all the love and tenderness a child could ask for, coming off as overly-protective and clingy, as if she was afraid he would be gone tomorrow. Secondly was the intensity of his education. Ever since Celandine was capable of walking his parents filled his head with knowledge much earlier than any child in town. When he was six he was already being taught high school math, biology, physics, and history, and by the time he was ten he had begun learning topics that were difficult for even adults to properly process including things like Psychology and Philosophy. Perhaps the most intense teaching was of a religious nature, however. Jarred time and again lectured Celandine on matters of faith, always coming back to one singular point. Purpose. It was what defined a person; made them something more than a mere beast. As long as you had purpose your life would have meaning, and one had to seek out their purpose with all of their power. To be without a purpose was to devolve into something less than human, and Jarred and Dahlia genuinely seem terrified of such a prospect. Celandine wasn't quite sure what he felt about such a teaching, but he could tell that his parents were fervent in their desire for him to have a strong purpose, and he devoted himself to his studies in an attempt to find his own purpose. If only to please his parents.
Celandine's childhood went on like this until he was fourteen; when his life had its first upheaval. It had been a relatively normal day, Celandine had been out at the market square shopping for that night's dinner, as he done many times before. He didn't have that same level of unnerving presence as his parents did and was capable enough to shop, and he often gleaned some bit of news by listening in around town. That day was no different, and he caught wind of some new visitor to the island. Something was special about this person however, something that set the villagers on edge. Many claimed that he had the same kind of feeling that Jarred and Dahlia gave them, yet even more so. At this point Celandine knew of the reputation that his parents had around town and decided to go and have a look at who this person might be. The man had rented a room at the edge of town and seemed to be ordering a great deal of supplies, and was easily seen by the curious Celandine. The sight of the man froze Celandine's heart for a moment, for it was the first time he had seen anyone look like his own family. The Vortexian inhabitants were all a ruddy to fair skinned people with blonde to black hair; only Celandine and his adoptive parents had the skin tone and hair color on the entire island, until that moment. For the man had the same dark copper skin and white hair that his own family had, and although Celandine had never felt the unnatural aura his parents gave the townsfolk, he could sense it in this man.
With his heart pounding Celandine broke away from his simple curiosity, returning to his previous business of shopping for his parents before returning home much earlier than he normally did. Sensing his discomfort Dahlia questioned Celandine on his day and he quickly divulged the presence of the man so similar to them yet so... strong, for to Celandine the aura he exuded felt like a kind of strength. Only later, once Mithanil had gone out into the world would he realize it was Magical power he had sensed. Dahlia seemed subdued, looking more worried than Celandine had ever seen her, and it scared him. He asked her what was wrong only to be told to remain in the house, she had to go find Jarred and talk to him of what Celandine saw, saying “..is it the end already?” A newer, deeper and far more encompassing terror began to fill Celandine's mind, the possibility of something horrific entering his heart. Dahlia left, giving him a reassuring smile, and went to find her husband. The terror continuing to rise, Celandine waited for nearly an hour, spending the time by doing his normal chores and setting the house in order as best he could; if only to keep his mind occupied. His fears seemed unwarranted however when his parents returned, the man that Celandine had spied on earlier with them. Relieved, Celandine went out to greet his parents as they arrived, but was met with subdued emotions; and they invited the man over for dinner with the sound of resignation in their voice. That night's dinner was very quiet, Dahlia and Jarred eating their food mechanically, the guest simply seeming to wait for the inevitable to happen, and Celandine barely able to taste what he was chewing. Finally however, after thinking about the day, Celandine managed to place into words what his fears were.
As he spoke of his fears he had them confirmed; his parents had to leave. There was some kind of enemy out there, something they had to run from to protect Celandine. The man who had arrived on the island was here to warn them about it, that the enemy was closing in on them. His parents were leaving. It was here that the mental training that Celandine had received shone through, because he had the maturity and understanding to grasp the dire need his parents had. He could understand that they had to do this, and although it hurt him greatly it would be for the best. His parents were leaving, and he couldn't go with them. With quiet sobs and desperate hugs Celandine said goodbye to his parents, watching them head away to the world beyond to prevent the enemy from finding them or Celandine. Still quietly sobbing he went to bed, clutching a letter his father had given him before he had gone, a letter that read almost like a last will and testament. The townsfolk soon realized the Mithanil's were gone but their son remained, but Celandine wouldn't give them any information, merely saying that he was alone now. While concerned for the boy, they found that he was plenty capable of taking care of himself even without his parents, and rather than trying to force him into an orphanage he remained in his parents home.
Life returned to normal almost immediately for the townsfolk, but another change in Celandine's life had come. Unbeknownst to him, Celandine's parents had had dealings and interactions with the shiftier folk of the island, one that had left enmity in the hearts of those people against the Mithanil's. They never had a chance to take out their petty revenge against Jarred and Dahlia, who were both far stronger and intelligent than them, but Celandine was still a child. He was a target they could strike at to hurt his parents, or so they thought. The first attempt at blackmail came only days after Jarred and Dahlia had left the island. Some of the lowlier thugs attempted to get money from Celandine or else they would reveal their dealings about the Mithanil's. Celandine dismissed them, unbelieving of their claims. The next day when that very topic was on the lips of the townsfolk...Celandine ground his teeth in suppressed anger, but he bore the shameful gossip with difficulty. Again the thugs offered a deal of money or they would spread more information on his parents. On it went the words getting worse and worse. By their words not only were the Mithanil's black market dealers but now also rapists and murderers. The gossip was repeated so often that many of the townsfolk were beginning to believe the rumors. The rage within Celandine slowly built up, greater and greater, and one day the thugs pushed him a step too far. For Celandine had been intensely studying to refine his knowledge of the human body in order to cure it, but when they finally pushed his anger too far he thought of another way to use his medical skills. To take a human body apart.
It was easier than Celandine had thought it would be. A simple knife to the solar plexus was enough to drop a man to his knees in silent agony, a second thrust to the base of the neck at the back finished them off with minimal bloodloss. After that it was like performing an autopsy; reducing the corpses to pieces small enough to never be found once hidden. The subterranean forests make for an excellent hiding place for bloody bones and meat; only the insects could find them. Afterwards, Celandine had the scriptures his father had taught him tattooed onto his body, an ever present reminder of purity, purpose, and sin. A reminder to ensure he never fell to the intoxicating rush he had felt when he had killed those beastly men; to ensure that he didn't become such a beast himself. He withdrew more and more from the community, focusing most of his attention on his various studies, improving his skills as a Doctor, and in the darkness he dealt with the crooks and criminals who tried to take advantage of him or the other townsfolk. Mostly it was a game of intimidation and mental manipulation, but when one thug or another got fed up they would try to remove Celandine from play, and would in turn be removed themselves. They weren't missed, even by their partners.
The remaining years of Celandine's time on Vortex Island were spent in this strange dichotomy of light and darkness. By day learning to heal others and focusing his mental prowess, while in the dark was bloody punishment against evil. When he reached age 19 Celandine decided it was time for him to leave his home Island. He had learned just about everything he was going to here, he was fully grown now, and his parents were still out there in the world. Taking his family name as his only name Mithanil prepared to set sail, leaving his entire life up to that point behind him. There was a lot more he was going to need to learn about the world, to see if the lessons his father had taught him were true after all. He made his way from South to North Blue to join the throngs of students on Hospitalizes, and after a relatively uneventful 5 years of intense study Mithanil graduated with honors.
Relatively uneventful being the key phrase. For during his time in Hospitalizes Mithanil's intense studies into healing others, mind and body, helped to finally awaken the same type of power within him that his parents had. Magical Power. At this point Mithanil's control of his magics are rudimentary at best, but still enough to help this purposeful Doctor go forth with renewed vigor...

Traits 6 Total/ 3 from DP/ 0 from Fated
Long Ear Tribe (3 Traits)
Longear Description Contesting the Dwarves as one of the most elusive races on the Seas, the Longear Tribe are also known as the "Elves" and are the subject of hundreds of myths and legends. Most of them untrue. The truth of the matter is that Longears are humanoids similar in size to humans, tending to be slightly taller than humans and almost always possessing a lithe and flexible frame that is thinner than humans. The defining feature are of course the elongated and pointed ears that all Elves have combined with a certain grace that sets them apart. There are two subdivisions of Elves, based on their skin-tone and hair-colors. The fair-skinned Longears have a caramel to pale skin-tone with a highly chromatic variety of eye and hair-colors, with black, brown, red, gold, and even green or magenta colors possible. The dark-skinned Longears instead almost universally have grey or white colored hair with amber, brown, red, silver, or black colored eyes. Their skin-tones range from olive to literal blue-black. Communities tend to be predominantly one or the other grouping, though despite the many stories there is little to no bad blood between the groups. Longear senses are considerably enhanced in comparison to normal humans, granting them an almost supernatural grace and reaction time. For every five points put into Speed or Accuracy the Longear gains one additional point, this bonus is calculated last. Longears can also further refine their senses by creating passive techniques up to their max technique rank in order to perform sensory feats such as seeing in pitch black conditions, hearing a pin drop behind a stone wall, or smelling poison in food or drink. This ability is not comparable to or a replacement for Observation Haki. Warlock (3 Traits)
Warlock Description A race of nomadic people who have been apart of the world for as long as the devil fruits themselves. Usually quiet about their abilities and such, they keep to themselves and live the lives of normal people. This race of people have no special physical attributes about them to set them apart from other humanoid beings. Witches/Warlocks come in all shapes and sizes, some of them even look like they may be from different races all together. However all of them seem to hold a similar trait among their magical kin, they all have some form of birthmark which can resemble a tattoo on their bodies.
Witches/Warlocks are able to call upon a single type of magic which is created through the bodies with the aid of Catalyst. They have a very hard to drawing out their magical powers without this catalyst and an even harder time focusing their spells without it. This catalyst is a focal point which lets them harness their magical powers in order to create potent abilities -- You only need one Catalyst to harness your magic, and the Catalyst is only required for you to be able to use your magic past rank 50. (20) Ability points, for all grades of weaponry.

Warlock Magic Magic Name: Heavenly Spirit Magic Catalyst: Pure Intent Magic Attribute: Spiritual, Light Magic Description:A Supportive type of magic, Mithanil's "Heavenly Spirit" magic is one of the mind and spirit, manifesting as a gentle silvery aura that surrounds his hands. Upon touching a person with this silvery light they are marked as a target, establishing a link to their mind and soul. With this link established Mithanil can decide to manipulate their senses in a limited fashion or else transfer sensory information between him and any target he has marked. When directly manipulating their senses Mithanil can do one of two things, amplify an existing sensation the target is currently experiencing, or else mute an existing sensation to nothing. When transferring sensory information Mithanil can choose to share sensations between him and his target/s or copy and transfer memories permanently. To mark someone as a target requires Mithanil to physically touch them while surrounding his hands in their silvery light, and Mithanil can have a number of targets equal to one target per every fifteen Fortune Mithanil possesses. When the targets are willing the duration is indefinite, but when a target is unwilling the max duration is equal to Mithanil's Fortune divided by the target's Fortune, rounding up to the nearest whole number.

Picture:

Personality
Mithanil is your typical introverted intellectual with an unhealthy dose of cynicism and a dash of religious zeal.
History
Jarred and Dahlia Mithanil came to Vortex Island from seas unknown to the good people of Whorl Town, and they arrived looking like the most desperate refugees of a bitter war.
Long Ear Tribe (3 Traits)
Contesting the Dwarves as one of the most elusive races on the Seas, the Longear Tribe are also known as the "Elves" and are the subject of hundreds of myths and legends.
A race of nomadic people who have been apart of the world for as long as the devil fruits themselves.
