Prerequisites 1) Train roughly 30,000+ Militia. 30,000 is the bare minimum you are going to need. If you can afford 50k or 100k Militia, you will be able to make the run faster since you won't be delayed by running out of troops. 2) Bookmark the closest two Level 6 Goblin Camps in your city. Pay attention to the word "closest." Make sure you really, carefully scan the area around you and find the closest lvl 6 camps. You'll be making over 1,000 attacks so it's a must that the target Goblin Camp is close. Any camps that take between 1-2 minutes to attack are perfect. Longer than that is going to be a pain and increase your troop losses, search well. 3) Get your Sage Tower to level 9. From what I know, Kabam still hasn't officially said what's the drop ratio of the relics so we can only bet that the higher the Sage Tower is, the better. Make sure it's at level 9 before you even start, otherwise, you'll be wasting troops and potential relics. 4) Get your Great Hall and Muster Field to level 9. A level 9 Muster Field will let you send nine attack waves, but you also need nine heroes to lead each wave so a level 9 Great Hall is also required. While you could attempt the run with lower levels of these buildings, you'll be less efficient and in the long run you'll be wasting more time and troops. Make sure both are level 9 before you start the attempt. What to Do 1) Send in 9 attacks in a row, one after the other one as quickly as you can. Each with 3,333 Militia. I pick 3,333 because it's just faster to type on SwiftKey. If your Honed Blades and Vigor are sufficiently high, 2,222 will work too though losses will be greater. Level 6 Goblin Camps have level 6 Honed Blades and Vigor, make sure yours are higher. Make certain to use your highest level hero in the first attack to minimize losses. Note that you will likely receive 0 resources in the 3rd+ attacks. This doesn't matter because you still will have a percentage chance of picking up a relic. If you attack fast enough, you won't have to lose as many Militia to Goblins because they won't regrow to full strength as fast. In reality you can send as many Militia as you want to minimize losses as long as all nine attacks have the same amount of troops and each is at least over 3,000 men. Note that Goblin Camps will respawn troops every 1:30 - 2:00 mins; this is why every attack must have the same number of troops because if you just send, say, 90,000 on the first attack, and then only 1 for the following eight attacks, the camp's troops will respawn sometime between your waves and kill your Militia, which is not a big deal, but the lost time is. Don't try and wait until the camp respawns its troops so you can always hit first with your highest hero. Take the few extra casualties in return of getting more attacks in and therefore more chances of getting relics. Just attack, attack, attack, and as soon as each hero comes back, attack again non-stop. 2) Keep rebuilding Militia lost. I did the run with level 9 Honed Blades, level 9 Vigor, level ~15-45 heroes and 3,333 Militia per attack. This resulted in around 450-500 Militia casualties per 9-12 waves. Don't bother rebuilding Militia while you are attacking, just wait until the end of the day and queue to replenish losses overnight to be ready for the next day. The exception to this of course is if you are getting close to the 30,000 Militia minimum, then do rebuild as needed. Probability of Getting A Relic With Level 9 Sage Tower 1) I averaged 1 relic every 16 attacks. If your average is much lower than this or if your first attack yields 0 resources, someone else might be using the same tactic on that camp. Try a different time of day, or pick a different camp. 2) I got as many as 3 relics within 9 attacks, and as few relics as 1 relic in 48 attacks. If you haven't gotten a single relic in 50+ attacks, then I would suggest taking a little break of an hour or so. This worked for me and when I came back a couple of hours later, I was getting mad relics again. 3) Camps that haven't been farmed in a while seem to have a higher probability of dropping relics. 4) During might building goals, it appears that people lay off the Goblin Camps to build might. My drop rate increased significantly during this most recent might building goal. Don't burn down too much of your might though! 5) Regardless of how long you farm one camp, it does not appear to run out. Yes, I did one for hours (BlackCloudX). I (Mythodea) got about 80 of the 100 relics from a single camp, they never run out; if it's dropping lots of relics, stick with that camp for the whole run. Things That Will Help 1) Get your Vigor and Cartography up for lower troop losses and faster marches, respectively. 2) The higher your best hero level the better, to minimize troop losses. 3) Have at least 3,000 idle population (to rebuild troops faster). 4) Have as many barracks as possible (also to rebuild troops faster). 5) Don't piss off your neighbors. When you get attacked you can lose relics to them! 6) Since Militia take wood, you will need a good source of it. 7) Cash in your 100 relics ASAP, before someone steals them! Stealing Relics From Players It's important that you are aware your relics can be stolen by enemy attacks, but that also means you can steal relics as well. This is what I found out about this process: First off, relics don't show up in scouting reports nor combat reports against other players (they do show up when you attack Goblin Camps.) So if you try to farm a camp and it's not giving neither resources nor relics, chances are someone nearby is attempting the run as well. Attack around the area and you might find who it is and steal a bunch of relics. In order to steal relics, you have to breach the enemy walls. For those of you who don't know it, this can only be done by troops. In other words, sending only carts/wagons will not breach the walls and therefore won't get you relics from another player. Therefore, send only T3 troops (they are the fastest) when trying to steal relics. I know there is a minimum number of troops required to breach the walls (one troop or so won't do it), not sure what it is but 333 T3 per wave worked for me. As for the stealing ratio, it worked like clockwork for me: 1 relic per 3 attacks. I don't know why or how this works, but that's the ratio I had every single time. This is good news and bad news. For one, this means your relics will not be stolen by the dozen, you will most likely only lose a few by the time you notice you are being robbed. On the other hand though, it's quite slow to get relics this way considering enemies/allies can sometimes take around 1 hour to get there and back from. The good thing about this is that you are certain to get the relics and you don't lose troops, given there's no wall might of course. So before you attempt to steal from a player or pick up relics from an ally, only do it if it's within the 10 minutes range. Longer than that and you'll probably be better off farming a camp. Just to state the obvious, but necessary, an allied player has to leave the alliance before you can attack him and pick up any relics. Finally, having a Protection Rune can be very helpful when you are getting close to the goal just to make sure you can't be scouted or attacked and therefore don't lose any relics now that you are so close. Do know that while the Protection Rune is active, you cannot attack other players but you will still be able to attack Goblin Camps. Take this into account if you are planning on getting your final relics from an enemy/ally. I think that's about it. It's a lot of stuff to consider but it's really simple once you get the hang of it. Also, don't be discouraged by the amount of attacks you have to make. It took me probably over 1,500 attacks to get the 100 relics, and I was discouraged by this at first; but trust me, once you get some practice, you'll be able to easily get 150-200 attacks in every hour. If you have any further questions, you can PM me in-game or post them here. Good luck and happy relic farming! |
