He was cursing every god to hell and high water. He'd not long got here and his leg was already acting up. Maybe it was because he had been sat still too long. The courtyard was hardly the place for some emergency maintenance but he didn't really have a choice, as the clunking sound his leg made after he had taken five steps was a sure sign that something was definitely not right. Last time he had done that he had needed to be rescued. So embarrassing. So there Jennu was, sat in the courtyard, glasses on and boot off, swearing furiously at his own leg as he poked at it with a screwdriver. What a wonderful way to start the year. |

The campus was so infuriatingly large. Blanche wondered if she would ever be able to find her way around without a map. At least it was beautiful. The fountains were her favorite part. The sound of the water filled the air with cool greens and purples. The general chatter of the students left colors of every description dancing against the backdrop. A sharp red ticking contrasted against the backdrop of the fountains and spasms of color caught her attention. It was unlike the conversations of the student body. It was angrier looking. The color of something that had been pushed to the breaking point, and was about to snap. She sought out the source of the sound, curious. When she found it, she was surprised to see it belonged to a person. A boy about her age, who was poking his leg with a screw driver. Blanche turned off her semblance so she could get a closer look. "Um..." she said quietly, "D-do... do you need any h-help?" |

The sound of the quiet voice caused Jennu to stop his work. He looked up at Blanche from over his glasses and took a moment to take her in. "No, thank you," he said. "I can manage." Or, more accurately, it would take longer to explain to her what the problem was that it would to actually fix it. Well that would be the case if he knew what the problem was. All he could tell now was the something was jamming up his leg. |

Blanche looked away, suddenly very interested in a butterfly dancing on the wind. He was looking at her like he was trying to appraise her. It made her more than a little uncomfortable. "Oh... S-sorry to interrupt then." she mumbled. Of course there wasn't anything she could do. He looked like he really knew what he was doing, and everything she had learned about machines had been by brute-forcing it until it worked. If it hadn't been a requirement in her old academy that she craft her own weapon, she probably wouldn't know anything at all about machines. |

"It's ok," said Jennu. A mechanical leg did tend to attract attention. He could only imagine the crowd he could gather if he were to to go about with the leg on show. Ah, there was the problem, one of the gears had come loose and was out of sync with the others. No wonder his leg hadn't been moving properly. "Damn," he muttered, realising he couldn't reach. The last thing he wanted was to have to take his own leg apart in the middle of the courtyard. |

Blanche probably should have wandered off by now. She wasn't welcome, and couldn't be of any use. There was no reason for her to stay, but she felt too awkward just walking away. It seemed wrong somehow. So, there she stood, shifting her weight from foot to foot and staring at that butterfly. At least until she heard him swear. "I... is something r-wrong?" she asked reflexively. The words slipped through before she could think better of them. |

"I found the problem but I can't reach it," said Jennu. Perhaps there was a workshop round here he could use. How awkward would it be for him to have to explain to one of the staff that he needed to fix his leg? He didn't want to have to take it apart in the middle of the courtyard, that would just make things even more awkward than they already were. |

Blanche turned her attention back to the boy and his leg. Perhaps she should offer to help. It would only be right. He was in distress, and wasn't helping people in distress what being a huntress was all about? She could probably even fix it if he told her how. Although, he seemed like the type of person who would get mad at her for suggesting it. Torn between her desire to help and the fear of being yelled at by this stranger, Blanche could only manage to get out a weak, "Oh." |
