Well. Here they were. Seth paused for a split second, regarding the dock just in front of him as well as the light grey of the concrete landing just beyond it. This was it. The beginning of their training as huntsmen. This was their moment! When they would set out on a path to become beacons of virtue and defense!

And yet, Seth couldn’t help but find it entirely underwhelming.

It wasn’t the fault of the school itself, admittedly. The decorations they had set up for the welcoming were opulent to put it lightly. If Seth had been one for parties, he’d be seeking out the designer of this setup immediately. Sadly, he wasn’t one for parties. The strain of compressed inhuman limbs against his back reminded him exactly why he wasn’t. This was where he’d make HIS debut. Even that thought put little spark in his chest. He sighed, scratching the back of his head. Might as well get it over with.

The Orrean looked over to his brother, Xavier, shivering like a leaf. Right. Reptilian genetics were buried somewhere in there. Seth sighed, clapping the boy on the back. “C’mon, grab your pack. Can’t be total recluses for the entire day.” God, he wished. Seth scooped up his Lockpick, slotting it into a sheath between his back and his pack before heading out onto the dock, out towards his new future.

"Oof!" The cubone faunus huffed as he was clapped on the back, ears attentive to Seth's words before leaving his place beside BOSS, which was resting against the airship's wall. He'd been meticulously and sternly told to not move the thing during flight.

"Ok! I'll be righ' back, aye?" Shuffling back to his seat to grab his bag, he quickly looked inside of it - polishing kit, pajamas, first-aid kit, vial of sand (in case he got homesick), ... Slinging it over his back, he discerned that all was accounted for, and made his way back over.

Quickly grabbing his buster sword (with the distinct sound of the airship re-calibrating its thrusters as to not veer off course) he followed his brother onto the docks. To say he was dawdling in catching up would be an understatement, with his sword leaning on his shoulder, he turned about to take the area in.

Lots and lots of grey, grey asphalt met his eyes, but despite the glowing sun shivers still wracked his frame - to him, it felt an awful lot like the middle of an Orrean night.

Kalos! he thought brightly, not letting the immediate scene dissuade him Not a lo' o' sand 'ere, huh? s' cold, too.. But, nevertheless, his eyes paused over the welcome signs, mind whirring as he slowly figured what they read.

"Is tha' there where we're s'posed t'be?" he asked, Seth a good metre or so in front of him. "Sure is... bright, heh..."

Whilst Jennu had no trouble in actually hauling his crates through the docks, the number of people in the docks was certainly not helping. Did nobody watch where they were going? He'd already barked at three people, snapped at another two, and one particularly annoying group of teenagers had been the victims of a string of poor language.

Well, he was never that very good at first impressions anyway.

However he was a victim of hypocrisy (and impalement) as he almost walked into the wrong end of a very big sword. "Whoa!"

Seth's instinct around Xavier, by proxy of being around B.O.S.S., was something he prided himself on. People managed to miss the giant hunk of steel for some Arc-forsaken reason. By now it was a kneejerk reaction to throw his arm out, though he was mentally cursing himself the second he did so. His height had jumped over the summer, and he was no doubt about to smack into someone's head.

...Or what felt like someone's abdomen. Seth blinked a few times, pressing his arm in. That was definitely someone's abs. But... that would mean...

Seth lowered his arm, slowly turning his head and doing something he hadn't had to do for about a year. He looked up. Jennu's face came into view and it was all the Orrean could do not to straight up gawk, though what he ended up doing wasn't much better. His shoulders drew back as he straightened out, chest becoming more pronounced as he kept staring at the veritable titan. It was only the fact that he felt his wings starting to strain against his binder that he realized, by god, he was posturing.

Seth instantly stepped back, letting his stance fall again as he spoke, "Excuse me, you'll want to avoid the sword. It's a bit of a monstrosity. We apologize."

Not even ten minutes into being a Kalosian student, Xavier nearly murdered someone. Brilliant! He was off to a wondrous start.

Whirling around to see who and what had snuck up on him, he was met with an eyeful of dark greys and blacks that adorned Jennu's chest. He wasn't unaccustomed to having to look upwards from one's chest to see someone's face, but he was still half-expecting the golden gaze of his brother, and not the cedar depths of Jennu.

"Well, 'ello there!" Xavier loosened his grip on the sword casually, letting it plunge into the ground without much a thought if it was going to damage the asphalt.

"Whoops." Xavier barked, his voice completely devoid of guilt. "Who're you-- Oy! she's a lovely sword, 'scuse you." The cubone said disgruntledly, turning and shaking his horned head in disapproval at his brother's remarks in a rare show of talking-back. ".. monster... and your Lockpicks are what, Toothpicks?"

With a roll of his eyes, Xavier turned back to Jennu, extending a hand. "Sorry for nearly killin' ye, bruh. I'm Xave, no harm done, yeah?"

The two boys' reactions to Jennu's height seemed to have bypassed him completely. Having grown up with such reactions, he had easily learnt to ignore it. Besides, people tended to get embarrassed if he pointed it out. So unless they said something, he wouldn't press the matter.

Seth's apology was shrugged off pretty quickly. "I shoulda been watching where I was going. Although I dunno how I missed that."

His crates went abandoned for a moment as he crouched down to look at the buster sword, regardless of whether or not Xavier was ok with that. "Name's Jennu," he introduced himself, not looking up at the brothers. "She's very impressive."

Xavier immediately puffed out his chest, whether or not the compliment was towards him or his sword - he didn't really care. To him, they were one and the same. The orrean subtly twisted his blade so it caught the sun just right, doing his best to exemplify his and his brother's image in front of this strange newcomer.

"Aye, she's a goodun', yeah? made'a pure anchor-metal! neva met anotha guy o' can hold 'er. Heavy as hell, nobody can handle 'er but me, i betcha theres' nothin' like her fer miles!" He thumped his chest triumphantly, "I dont wanna toot m'own horn, but I'm sure Seth 'ere could tell ya all about how I kick tush with it."

Xavier caught himself a little on his boasting, rubbing his nose a little. "W--well, its nothin' compared to what Lockpick can do, but..."

"Anchor metal?" Jennu repeated. He tapped on the sword and it rang back at him, confirming it. "I bet she is." He'd never heard of anyone wanting to make something out of such heavy material. Even hammers and axes were generally made of lighter stuff nowadays.

"Why d'you pick such a heavy metal?" There were better things to make weapons out of, and Jennu was genuinely curious as to why someone would want something so ungainly. Maybe there was a good reason for it.

"Mmh. It wasn' much a' my choice, yeah? livin' in the desert, there's not a lotta places you c'n find metal, y'know?" Xavier warbled, nodding sagely.

"Well, I found this anch'a, yeah? from an ol' air ship that crashed, figured I needed som'thin to defend m'self with. So I dragged 'er all'a way home, n' had 'er forged." The Orrean thumped his chest in pride, "Yeah, she's heavy as hell awright, but m'Semblance outweighs her pretty good, I'd say!"

With a single arm, he pulled Boss from her grave, swinging her about mid-air and handling the sword as if it were nothing more than its shape. He took a step back, lifting his blade into the air, before balancing her ungainly size in front of him.

"See? Strength semblance, learn'd that one early on, heh. She'd crush anyone else, I'd bet. Wanna try 'er?" He flipped the buster back down, gently leaning its tip against the ground, holding her upright by her handle, but offering Jennu a chance at keeping the blade vertical. "I'll give ye a hundred P if you can keep 'er from hittin' the ground."
