Natsuki had, of course, retreated to the shadows before his new partner could finish what she had to say. He was more than eager to get out of danger, not to mention this girl seemed decently competent, despite her entrance. At least, he hoped she was competent. She must've passed the test, after all. In the shadows, he quickly darted from place to place, keeping a careful eye on the world above. Everything was quiet up above...a little too quiet. He didn't like it, and everything that seemed to move made him jumpy, even if he didn't seem like it. But....hey, he found the exit, at least...! He made his way back to Cassidy, who was relatively in the same spot, and emerged from the shadows right in front of her, on a nearby tree. As soon as he touched the portal, the shadows in the real world in that area seemed to ripple, though they kept their form. His head and shoulders re-entered the world of light first, his figure swathed in sheer darkness. The only part of him that wasn't pure black was his now-glowing pink and magenta eye, usually hidden underneath his hair. It didn't occur to him that he could be mistaken for a Grimm. |

Cassidy spent the next few seconds trying to scan the immediate area for any sense of presence. Natsuki had to go SOMEWHERE, didn't he? He was there, and then he was gone. Without a word, and without a trace. Cassidy frowned deeply, mildly irritated that he'd just.... Go. She moved slowly forward, keeping her steps light and her gun ready. Suddenly, the tree bustled in front of her, shadows congealing out of the base. There isn't anything that could be but a Grimm, given that the eerily shaped figure was drenched in shadows. Cassidy immediately opened fire upon her target, putting four poison rounds directly into its center. When nothing really happened, she waited for a few seconds and took a few hesitant steps backwards, gun at the ready. When the shadows took Natsuki's shape and finally dissolved off of him, she just stared at him. "Nat...suki?" She spoke, confusion coloring her face. It took a few seconds for her to realize that she had just shot him four times. "AUGH! OH GOSH I'M SO SORRY. I didn't mean to shoot you you just materialized out of the shadows and I thought you were a Grimm did I hurt you you aren't hurt are you? You look okay but?..." Cassidy trailed off, her panicked words turning into faint murmurs. She couldn't believe she'd just shot her partner. |

Natsuki, like any other rational being, put his hands up to defend himself and recoiled when Cassidy began to shoot him. "Aah, stop, stop!!" he shouted, more scared than hurt. When she finally stopped shooting, he hastily yanked himself from the darkness, the shadows melting away from his face first and slowly creeping down and away from his body like molasses, only much more cleanly. When he finally stood on ground once more, he was as he should be: colorful, corporeal, and with his blue eye visible, as opposed to his usually-hidden magenta one. He stared at Cassidy with a tint of worry in his eyes, as if asking her if she was going to shoot him some more. Arceus, he'd spent so much time training with others of the Honedge line, he'd forgotten that shadow movement wasn't just something everyone around him was used to.... When Cassidy finally began to freak out and babble, Natsuki gave a small sigh of relief, instinctively turning around to see how many bullets there were in the tree, as if to remind himself that he had just narrowly avoided death and was still alive. God, those shorts had hurt....but...not as much as they should have, really. As she continued to fret over him, he swiftly took out a scimitar, using the tip of it to dig the bullet out of the tree bark, knowing his bare hands would be far, far too imprecise for the job. He turned back to her just as she trailed off, a single bullet resting in the palm(?) of his scarfy hand. "I'm.....fine. Just....surprised," he told her, eyes fixated on the tiny ball of metal he was holding. "I...won't say it didn't sting but...whatever you shot, I think I'm immune to...thank Arceus." He gave a small sigh at that. He was resistant to a lot of types, and immune to a few, but the ones that hurt him hit really hard. Thank god Cassidy had used something completely ineffective on him - the sting was already starting to wear off, in all honesty. The physical bullet itself had done the most damage, and thanks to being coated in his own aura already, he'd been effectively (mostly) shielded from it. "But...please try not to shoot me in the future..." he murmured, examining her warily. "I do not wish to be on the receiving end of an attack I am not resistant to....." "In any case, Cassidy-san..." he murmured, trying to shake his shock from his system and get right back to business, "I found the exit from this hedge maze....I heard a lot of things moving around, but I didn't actually see any Grimm. I don't like it..." Edited by Clover, Oct 23 2014, 02:22 PM.

Despite Cassidy nearly filling Nastuki with holes, his aura and... His apparently natural immunities kept him from sustaining any real damage. Cassidy examined the bullet closely, taking in that it was poison. Which meant that if he was immune... He likely had a steel affininity. Cassidy's eyes visibly sparkled at the realization and she quietly rested her gun arm. "I'm sorry for shooting you, but I'm glad you're not hurt." She nodded slowly, attempting to take in her surroundings again. "Is the exit that direction?" Cassidy pointed in the direction that Natsuki had traveled off in. She had no idea that was where he had went, but it was where she figured the exit was. She tapped her foot on the grass, slightly more nervous about the situation than she was before. "I sensed something, but uhm..." Cassidy sighed slightly, "I don't like it. I don't like it at all." Despite the situation, Cassidy grinned. "We gotta get going though! We got a job to do, and I intend to see it through! Come on, lets go!" Cassidy motioned for Natsuki to follow her before starting off in the direction he went at a quicker pace than normal. She didn't intend to stay here for very long. |

"Ah, Cassidy-san, w-wait...!" Natsuki quickly hurried after his partner, swords drawn. He didn't like this, not one bit. Going into mostly-unknown territory that most definitely had enemies in it? No thanks. As if being flung into the forest wasn't enough, now this, where the chances of meeting Grimm were probably very high. No. Nope. Augh, why him!? I hope you're happy, Mom, Dad.... He dared not speak. He almost dared not breathe. He just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.... |
