"Unless you plan on pulling it down, I don't see how that little chain thing does you any good!" Jonas hissed, hand hammering down on the hammer of his revolver and fanning shots wildly into the mass of Pokemon. He wasn't the best of shots but if he pumped enough rounds into the crowd, he figured he might hit something. "I'm not exactly an expert on Grimm but I think some wholesale slaughter is necessary to stop them from doing whatever it is they're planning!" Jonas called over the steady rhythm of gunshots. "So if you want to join me in killing these things, any time would be great!" |

Logan's eyes widened as a flurry of Grimm eyes or something all massed and flew at him. He quickly raised his shield, barely hearing the faunus' comments, and responding only with a grunt as he shoved his shield outwards, throwing the eyes away and giving him an opportunity to reel in his chain, yanking the Grimm towards him, while also darting forward to stab it with his sword. "Switch targets then!" Logan called, still not liking what that light was doing. "I don't like that light! Take them out up there, I'll cover you from the ground!" To back up his claim, Logan ran over closer to Jonas, bashing any Grimm that got too close with his shield. Edited by Logan, Jun 30 2015, 05:09 PM.

The Grimm in Logan's grip gave one last dying screech before it was promptly skewered with the sword. The eyes that floated around Logan's head dropped, little red bloated things that rolled and ultimately went still at Logan's feet. Jonas's shots were scattered, but a few of them managed to hit the avian watchers and the floating demonic eyeballs which were still hell bent on their quest in the glowing circle between them and their strangely hypnotic dance. Rather than spinning on their axle as they had done for Logan, they condensed tighter, the ring growing brighter. Before Logan could reach Jonas with his shield, a blast of energy coursed through the area, knocking the two hunters back. The craggy Grimm seemed to bow as the eyeball Grimm stilled. Even the avian Grimm settled as they looked to the ring. Each of the demonic eyes began to float backwards, falling into a heap on themselves as if a switch had been flicked. Within the center of the ring was a great, black furred Grimm with glowing red eyes. Flames sputtered on its neck, red eyes watching the two hunters as it slowly stood on two legs. It roared, a sound that seemed to be strangely distant for the Grimm being so close, and then it dropped to its fours and charged Jonas and Logan. |

Jonas wasn't particularly gifted with his ranged weapon; truth be told the rusty outdated pistol was a holdover from his mother to ensure he wasn't totally useless on the ground. No, his real strength came from hitting things harder than they could hit him. The face mask slid up to cover his nose as the rock exploded, sending him tumbling back as he struggled to regain his balance. The fire monster seemed to snarl, charging him with a feral roar that caused the hairs on the back of Jonas' neck to stand up. He wasn't supposed to be doing this. He was trained to fight people not monsters that floated and summoned hellbeasts to the battlefield. But he was trained to fight and if this creature had bones, he could break them. "Deal with the flying ones yourself!" Jonas called from behind his mask, lowering his stance and standing in the charging Grimm's path. The heat from the creature's breath bore down on him hotter and hotter, jaws opening wide and claws outstretched to rip him apart. It leapt in a low angle and Jonas had his chance. He crouched low, catching the Grimm under its soft underbelly as it charged at him, exploding up with a Semblance powered toss skyward a good four feet. ...he was surprised at how light it felt. The creature's arms and legs flailed in mid air for a split second before it came plummeting back down. Jonas crouched again and rose, driving his right fist into the monster's jaw and sending it tumbling ass over teakettle backwards onto the dirt. |

As Logan was launched off his feet by the sudden explosion, he quickly shifted and activated his semblance. The statueified Hunter hit the ground with a hard this and the rest of the debris bounced off harmlessly. As soon as it passed, Logan dropped the semblance and quickly got back to his feet. Just in time to spot a new Grimm, a Fire-type obviously. Jonas wasted no time in engaging, apparently content to leave Logan to rot as far as he cared. He opened his mouth to argue against Jonas, but realized that there was likely no way he'd get the other boy to listen to him, and the type advantage was the Grimm's. With an annoyed sigh, Logan spun back to the Grimm in the air, and launched his hookshot out at the nearest one, this time yanking his shield to knock into the Grimm next to it. Maybe he could fell two birds with one stone, followed by a couple of swift sword stabs. |

The Grimm in Jonas's arms was not prepared for the strength and fury of the hunter-- or rather, the illusion of the Grimm. Far more used to dealing with the shrimps and the scared freshmen and not a professional, the illusion's strands unraveled as it was tossed up into the air. By the time the Grimm landed back onto the ground, the impact caused a small crater and the illusion unraveled into black goop that once was a Grimm. The avian Grimm screeched as the hookshot pierced through its chest, leaving its companions sqwaking and screaming their shrill cries at Logan. Two of them flew for the hunter, but one of them met with Logan's shield and fell into a heap at his feet. The second one found its wing pierced by the sword, and attempted to pull away only to fall to the ground in a bloody pile. The plan of the Grimm failed, the smaller Grimm began to retreat, only one stray rock being flung at Jonas to keep him from pursuing. Edited by Vixen and Drake, Sep 2 2015, 03:24 PM.

"The fuck was that supposed to be," Jonas muttered, retracting his face guard as he glared down at the hole and the puddle of goop that used to be...something. He got the distinct impression that he had been somehow tricked into thinking whatever the hell he punched was some kind of...doppelganger or something. At any rate, the troublesome Grimm appeared to be headed off, driven away by the other boy's handy chain and sword work. Jonas caught the stray rock lobbed at his head, squeezing it until it crumbled into fine powder between his fingers. He looked down at the dust as he let it spill into the crater where the gore of the Grimm was beginning to dissipate, feeling the adrenaline feed into a lazier post battle high that he had learned to enjoy over the years. A toothy grin tugged at the corners of Jonas' lips. Maybe this wasn't going to be such a waste of time after all. He doubted Rick Martinez or any of the other Junior Heavyweights he would be battling for the title were throwing Grimm around for training and if he could do that to a Grimm...then what could he do to them? "Is that it?" Jonas said, cracking his neck as he glanced back at the other boy. "I was just beginning to enjoy myself...so who are you then? Some kind of Renaissance fair re-enactor on his way to a joust or something?" |

Well. That had gone better than expected. Logan took a moment to look over his "work", his breathing a bit laboured, likely a little more from his reaction to the battle than the effort he'd put into it. He looked up just as the rest of the Grimm retreated, following the tossed rock to Jonas' hand, watching it crumble. He fought an urge to roll his eyes as Jonas looked back at him. Show off. Maybe this place was no better than Kanto after all. "My name is Logan, and no, I'm not..." Jousting was done with lances, not swords. Was this guy an idiot too, or just trying to make him mad on purpose? Times like these he wished Cherise were here to toss out a few snarky comments, but he didn't have the guts to shoot back with that information, or call him out for not helping him. Before he could figure out what to say, he spotted something in the crater the "Grimm" had left after Jonas "killed" it. "Hey, what's that?" He asked, pointing to the shimmering whatever it was, walking over to the crater. |

This kid looked like a million laughs already. "You really want to go poking your nose into whatever it was that just tried to murder us?" Jonas said with a shrug, dusting his hands off and staring down at the puddle of Grimm that remained after he slammed it into the ground. "Be my guest...just don't scream too loudly when whatever it is comes alive and tries to bite your dick off. I'd rather not let anyone else know where we are." He expected there to be more of a fight but he supposed he should be grateful he could get on with his search for Jason without too much trouble. Jonas pressed his metallic collar, retracting his face guard as he sauntered off down the path. "Well it's been real, Galahad," Jonas said with a brief wave over his shoulder. "But I'm hitting the trail. Good luck not dying on the way back to school now." |
