The Grove of Huge Ass Trees

Miles and Anthony are flung through the air and find themselves flung towards a thick forest of large, deformed trees that cast a dark shadow on the forest below. As they fall, they must be careful to dodge the gnarly burls that jut out of the trunks in strange patterns. If they didn't know better they would swear that the trees are shaped like human rumps but what kind of juvenile creator would allow that?

On the forest floor, it is dark, dank, and decaying. A pungent aroma fills the air, not unlike sulfur, and the air is thick and stale. A thick carpet of old growth and fungus clutters the forest floor and in the distance, they may be able to see strange, horribly disfigured shapes moving in the shadows, waiting to strike...

The GM is Banjo. He will be rping mook (weak) Grimm during combat to get people used to working with a GM. The combat system will not be used for these first two threads. Please begin by RPing your landing strategy.

Have fun and happy Landing Day!

It was a horrible idea to try and make Miles the literal wall he always boasted to be. Go figure the time Tony really needs him to be he freaks out over ass forest and horrid, goopy residents. However he wasn't exactly expecting to see a grenade go flying right into the grimm horrors. Tony's eyes widened, he needed a fast solution. Miles' grenades were stuffed with poison, so they were gonna either explode or get poisoned and die or get knocked out so the hellspawn could absorb them.

Tony quickly slung his weapon over his shoulder and grabbed one of his faithful dust crystals. Water was the name of the game today, apparently. He landed with it and now he was going to get them not killed with it. He just had to hope that it'd work and they wouldn't get caught in the poison gasses. The shark, in a trial of strength, managed to grab Miles and pick him up. Tony was lucky the ginger was short and easy to lift off his feet and be stuffed slightly under his friend's arm. Arceus Miles was heavy! They needed to stop eating so much food, just food in general.

He took off as quick as he could, the delay on the grande had to be finishing soon. As Tony ran, he laid down multiple glyphs behind him, going from vertically up and down and slowly tilting toward to tree's canopy. "Hold onto something, O'Malley!" Tony yelled at him before the grenade's explosion cut off any more words and sent out a massive blast of force and dust. As the explosion hit the glyphs, the poison and force slowly traveled through the anti-gravitational area. The shark counted a few moments in his head before he jumped just enough to get his feet off of the ground.

Then the force of the explosion slammed into the partners and launched them into the air and out of the forest. The anti-gravity made Tony feel light as a feather, almost like when he landed. At least this time he was going from slow to fast through the air instead of the opposite. He could save his brain from getting knocked around TOO much.

They wouldn't die-- it was just a little poison and extreme force of a blast! Totally survivable! Miles almost laughed as the grenade landed nearly right on top of one of the goopy bastards. He was going to blow them to kingdom come! Not that he'd get to witness his handwork, no instead he grunted as something wrapped around his middle. The lizard's feet left the ground and he instantly wrapped his hands around the-- was that an arm? --the arm around his waist.

"Tony!" His legs dared to kick but the weight of his tail resting fully on his calves he never got a chance to. Everything became disorientated as the shark started to run, making the ground blur to the Scrafty. He stared back at the glyphs that had been laid out to shoot the force of the explosion up and over them. That was the plan right? To redirect the blast? Miles almost felt the need to compliment Tony but as soon as the other student JUMPED he wanted to kill him!

The blast rammed into them, poison not included thankfully, and swatted them through the air like a fly. This was the opposite of launch day! They were supposed to go back into the air! Miles wasn't sure who was screaming but it sure was hurting his ears. Only when his throat got a stinging pang through it did he realize it was him. But he'd be damned if he could stop! His fingers dug tightly into the thin arm that held him, horrified at the idea of being dropped.

Tony was lucky Miles didn't through his delicate, yet scrambled, plan off of track with his panic. Stupid lizard and his stupid gut reactions. Tony was trying to be strategic! Sort of! Well, it worked out and the pair were sent soaring into the sky once again. It wasn't how Tony wanted to travel toward their goal. He wanted to walk it out or something simple, but noooooooo Miles had to throw a poison filled grenade at his nightmares made real.

Tony squinted a bit as he noticed Miles was screaming his head off and not stopping. What a baby. It was only a little anti-gravity. The shark had done plenty of practice with it, so he supposed he was used to it. It was his go to glyph and dust type, maybe it was just the affiliation speaking. While Miles continued to scream, Tony took note of the land moving below them. Trees, trees, plains, some lake with huge grimm fighting in it? Ha, glad he didn't get stuck there. Then again they were almost made prisoner of some nightmare fuel.

The shark could feel as the momentum and properties of the glyph started to wear off, they were coming down off of the their jump. With water glyph still in hand and a nice, more open area to land in, Tony decided to re-create the way he landed in the first place. He laid down a few glyphs on the way down to the unforgiving earth. This time he curled his legs in a tad and braced himself with the front of them and his feet. It scrambled his brain a little less, but crashing through the glyph still felt like hitting a wall. A soft wall, but a wall nonetheless.

He kept a tight arm around Miles as they hit the ground and rolled across the tall grass, Miles going a bit further from where Tony landed. The shark breathed a little before looking over to Miles, "Just had to throw a fuckin' grenade pretty much in our faces, didn't you?"

Screaming, screaming screami-- FALLING, FALLING, FALLING!

Miles continued to yell as the ground they were so high above started to get closer. His grip on Tony's arm had to of been bruising but he was not going to be dropped! One of his hands shifted and tangled itself into the back of the shark's jacket as another leverage option. "Tony, fuckin' do somethin!"

The lizard clamped his eyes shut and whimpered as another force hit the pair. Going so fast and then slowing so abruptly in combination with the height made the Scrafty nauseous, the vice grip around his stomach also not helping. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he felt the ground and tumbled across it unceremoniously. A breath he hadn't been aware he was holding was released as the world caught up to him.

Oh fuck.

Quickly Miles got to his feet and stumbled to put some room between himself and Tony as he purged his guts. Never. Again. Never again was he going to be launched through the glyphs! At least they were alive, he optimistically noted as he gagged on stomach acid.

The sticky sluggy looking creatures paused as the grenades arced towards them. One of them paused, sniffing the explosive curiously before wrapping its lips around it and chewing it thoughtfully. Its friend, thinking that they had stumbled on some kind of new berry immediately lashed out, striking the selfish Goomy in the stomach with a headbutt that made it cough up the grenade as it floated in the air for a second. Both Goomy lunged, diving on top the grenade and fighting over it right up until the deafening boom sent them scattering in a black and white gooey mess all over the forest floor.

Finally, there was silence...

It didn't take but a moment and Miles was on his way to pukesville. That lizard had always hated those glyphs, so making him go through them as such probably didn't do him any good. Hey, at least he wasn't dead though! The shark stumbled up to his feet and adjusts the gun slung over his back. Everything seemed to be in order.

Tony walked over to Miles as his senses came back into order after that fall, "Arceus, Miles it wasn't even that bad. This is you fault anyways, if you hadn't thrown that stupid grena--" The shark paused and looked to see a rather ambiguous student, who already looked rather gross and wet, only getting more gross and wet as Miles gagged on his own stomach acid and onto someone's shoes.

"Oh... hey there." Tony trailed off. Seems they were going to have some company on the trek to the relic site.
