World Fighting Championship Association
Background: Founded more than one hundred years ago, the WFCA represents the very best of the best in unarmed fighting, martial arts, and combat sports. Comprised of the five major fighting leagues, one from each of the major nations of the world, the WFCA is the largest fighting organization in the world today and often the last word in brutal sports action.
Competitors are all Aura trained humans or Faunus who use their aura and natural talents to put on stunning displays of athleticism and brutality in legitimate unarmed competition. Most fighter are trained from a young age and usually cut their teeth on smaller promotions before entering a larger national company. Though intricacies of rules vary from organization (The KFFC for instance has no referee stoppage clause) each member of the WFCA abides by the same general guidelines when ruling fighting events.
General guidelines include but are not limited to:
Competitors compete unarmed without the use of dust or weaponry
Competitors may secure victory by pinfall, knockout, submission, or referee stoppage.
Low blows, eye gouges, ear pulling, and hair pulling, and grappling of Faunus appendages are banned.
In ring referees are the ultimate arbiter of rules and proceedings regardless of camera presence or playback. Referee decisions are absolute and instructions must be followed at all times.
Exhibition matches are often fought using a point system to preserve fighters for more intense matches.
Divisions · Heavyweight Championships (Age 25+)-Typically the most prestigious division a circuit offers, it is comprised of industry veterans and the most skilled fighters in singles matches
· Junior Heavyweight Championships (Age 18-25) The youngest up and comers in any circuit, the junior division is typically characterized by high levels of athleticism and recklessness.
· Tag Team Championships (2 fighters)-The best teams in a given division comprising of two fighters.
· Trios Championships (3 fighters)-The best teams in a given division comprised of three fighters.
· National titles-Typically represent the pride of the nation that hosts them (The KFFC National Title has never been held by a foreigner or a faunus) and typically acts as envoys for the promotion in inter-league matches (The Kantonese National Champion faces the Unovan National Champion etc)
· Intercontinental Championship-Battled over by National Champions in inter-league matches (i.e. the Kantonese National Champion currently holds the WFCA Intercontinental Championship, a symbol of Kanto’s martial excellence over foreign fighters). Represents the best of the national champions and defended under 24/7 rules (i.e. any time from January 7th to November 31st any National champion can set a date and challenge for the Intercontinental Championship).
