Faye had heard rumors about Launch Days, but there were so many different versions she wasn't sure which one to believe. She should have paid more attention to a particular one, the one that spoke of students getting tangled up in branches, concussions and broken limbs. The Zoroark bit her lip and suppressed a whine as she saw the first set being launched into the sky. It was a little too late to rethink all of this. She shut her eyes and took a deep breath as she stepped on her assigned platform, heart pounding in her ears, she forced herself to look forward as they activated. Her Semblance kicked in as the ground rushed below her, Blue Crystal circling around the faunus as she thought of using Grass Knot to stop her flight. Yet another thing she should have thought about before trying it. Faye was close enough to the ground when the roots grew and wrapped themselves around her ankles, pulling her down with a yelp, causing her to stumble and land ungracefully on her behind. With a flick of her wrist, the roots released her from their hold and the fox pulled herself to her feet to get a better look at her surroundings. |

He had heard the ridiculous rumours that surrounded the actual launch day, and he wouldn't deny that he had laughed at them. They didn't make any sense and hell they couldn't be true. Could they? But alas, here he stood, mind racing as he stared at the kids being launched, one by one. His eyes found those of his brother's, golden locking with odd ones for a moment. There wasn't enough time. How was he going to land? He was more melee and kick the shit out of people along with using his chakram slash daggers. This was shit. This was going to be shit. He needed a plan. He needed something of a- TWANG. And off he went into the sky, biting back a cry of surprise as he felt the wind hit his face, making him suck in a sharp breath. What was the plan. There had to be some sort of plan. Zemar would be using his powers, no doubt. Create a shield of ice to lessen the fall. Or use his spear to jab into something. He couldn't. Not really. Wait. His weapons could be of help, yes! He could use it to slash around the trees, slow down the fall. That would definitely help-- SPLASH. Before he knew what happened he found himself crashing into the water and sliding further, letting out a pained yelp before pushing himself up when finally he stopped. "Fuck..." he uttered out. Too long. He had thought too long on his solution. Spitting out some of the awful liquid, he quickly wiped a hand over his face. That water wasn't good. Not good at all. It was gross. "Let's get this done with and find Zem..." he grunted to himself, pushing himself up to his feet and wading to the shore, his ears flat and a disgruntled look on his face. |

Faye watched the other take a dive right into the dirty lake water with a flinch, that looked very unpleasant, judging by the other's reaction. The Zoroark stepped up closer to the lake, unsure if directly stepping into the water was a wise decision, who knew what could be hiding beneath. Technically, this other Faunus was supposed to be her partner now, right? If she understood correctly. She fidgeted in her spot while she watched him pull himself out of the water before slowly approaching. "Um," Faye cleared her throat loud enough to get his attention, or at least she hoped so, "Guessing we should have taken the name Launch Day more seriously, huh?" |

He heard a voice, causing him to let out a groan before slowly peering at the girl from the corner of his eye. It wasn't his brother. He could just ignore her, couldn't he? With a soft snort, a light flick of the tail and a faint snarl, he turned away and kept walking, inwardly sending a little prayer up that the other would leave him alone and search for another partner. They could just pretend they hadn't seen each other, right? She could find another partner, he could find his brother. Perfect. Everything settled down great. If it wasn't for the fact the girl didn't seem to let him go that easily. Dear Goddess above, this was going to be just great... |

Her ears flicked back as she heard him groan and the fox stood in place as she watched him turn and walk away. But that wasn't right. The first person you found was supposed to be your partner. Well... the first person you locked eyes with, but it wasn't supposed to be taken that literally, right? She was suddenly not sure. Faye hesitated for a few seconds before chasing after him, "Wait! Where are you going? We're supposed to team up to find that relic, right?" |

She was following him. She was following him. This did not go according to plan at all. He shouldn't have lost sight of his brother during the launch! How far apart were they? Was it too far to find him? No, he would find him, definitely. One way or another. He'd use scent, yes. He recognized Zemar's scent out of many, after all-- There was a small sniff given, head jerking to the side and brows furrowing in confusion before he turned away slowly. No. That was just his mind playing tricks with him. Never he mind that. It wasn't a scent that was possible. He needed to concentrate on his brother's scent. The sooner he found him, the sooner they could team up and the sooner this Academy would-- His thoughts were cut short by the girl's voice and he groaned inwardly. "Donno what you're on about, but the rules are definitely different. Only when eyes meet. So you can observe your partner for a while before deciding you want to partner up with them. Fuck, didn't you read stuff about this school? Every student knows this. And you're just not what I was expecting. See, I already planned on teaming up with someone else. And he's probably looking for me, so I should find him. And you should find your new partner." |

"Uhhh..." Faye hummed, hesitating. She hadn't read anything about the school. At all. She hadn't had a clue of where to go and asked her father to decide for her. She should have at least read up on the school before coming here.. Her ears dropped as she chewed on her lip. "I didn't think the whole 'when eyes meet' thing was literally.. Isn't that just another fancy way to say, 'first person you encounter' anyways?" The Zoroark stopped approaching him, when something caught the sunlight and shone right on her eyes. Head turning, she noticed the sword with the large jewel embedded on it, the source of the sudden glare. Faye dismissed it for later, stepping to the side and just one step closer towards the other, "I don't think it's such a good idea to just.. leave on your own without a partner. Didn't you notice how we were even launched? I'm pretty sure they intended to have students pair up as soon as they landed.." |

He was so fucked. She didn't stop following him. He didn't want her as his partner! He wanted his brother as his partner, they could work best in a team together! Not without one another. This had to be a stupid joke, right? Lifting a hand, he rubbed over his face once before slowly turning to look at Faye, perking his leafy ears up and narrowing his eyes. He felt the needles on his skin pricking up, though he tried to relax enough to let them go back down. "Oh. Is that so?" he spoke coolly, rolling his eyes once before turning his head to the way ahead of him. Why did things fuck up like this. Why did he stumble into this girl instead of his brother. W h y hadn't he looked around better for somewhere to land. U g h . "Fine. F i n e . You can be my bloody partner already." he grumbled, waving a hand in the air. "But I need to find my brother and team up with him too, alright? So it'll be you, my brother, me and whatever person he might've stumbled across." he stated, eying Faye quietly before shrugging. "Launch day is mental." |

The Zoroark caught unto the change in his body language, shrinking a bit and taking a step back, "S-Sorry, I just thought that it's possibly much safer if we-" She bit on her lip as he seemed to change his mind, with a tilt of her head as the Leafeon mentioned he was looking for his brother, things started to make sense to her now. "Oh.. I'm sorry about that, I didn't know." Faye lowered her ears, and rubbed at her temples, "Yeah.. mental.. I'm really sorry but I still think it's safer if we just stick together while looking for your brother. I don't think this whole thing is as simple as nabbing a relic and leaving. Professors should have some sort of obstacles in store for us.." |
