Ravaged Forest

While you are catapulting through the air (hopefully with style) you realize you are heading directly to something that looks like a clearing, but is definitely not a clearing. This particular section of the forest looks like a hoard of Grimm bulldozed it, with trampled underbrush, snapped tress, and broken bushes. It's not all bad though, some of the bushes look particularly fluffy, and the leaves look okay to land in. It seems awfully devoid of life, but it also looks really recent. Whatever caused this mess is probably nearby... It'd be best to tread carefully, lest you get trampled on.

The GM is Brandon. He will be rping mook (weak) Grimm during combat to get people used to working with a GM. The combat system will not be used for these first two threads. Please begin by RPing your landing strategy.

Have fun and happy Landing Day!

Diana really, really didn't care what Sycamore had to say. This went as far as to sit down on the launch pad and let her head droop as the Principal rambled on about friendship being magic and some other assorted gobbledygook that she frankly could do without for several years. Man, what was the point of TALKING so fucking much? Just shoot us up up and away already!

This wish was granted just as soon as Diana had thought it, her sitting form launched skyward to the tune of her row mates giggling at the situation she had found herself in. Diana promptly uncurled, surveying the landscape with a critical eye. She realized... this shit was moving too fast for her to even get a read on! Oh well, Plan B always worked for her when her dad threw her. No reason those platforms could be stronger than him. She curled up once more, greaves shielding her lower body and full-arm gauntlets protecting her upper. She allowed herself to just shoot through the air like a glorified cannonball, not bothering to see what she was running into.

This worked far more spectacularly than it had any right to. Diana crashed through various underbrushes to slow her speed, one arm finally lashing out to grasp the infantile trunk of what might have been a tree one day had Diana not used it to spin around and drop momentum low enough to dismount and stick the landing. She groaned and stretched out, glancing around the less than ideal landscape. Looked like where a lot of strong Grimm hung out.

Diana's smile shifted to a full on grin. She liked this place already.

This was...such a weird ritual. Why was she being shuffled into locker rooms so early? What was this whole 'launch day' thing? Why weren't they simply assigning partners like normal teachers? Or at least...the normal ones she'd read about. As the tiny brunette had been shuffled into the throng of kids and stuffed into her place, her half-awake stare at the headmaster had her only picking up half of what he had to say. Partners, teams, Landing Strategy....wait, landing strategy? What was--

Oh......................................

Daisy had jolted awake as the first row of students was launched into the air, careening into the air like a bunch of ragdolls. She'd watched wide-eyed as the second row of students went, then the third, then...it got to her row. Oh, no. Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no nonono....how was she going to do this? How the hell did they get away with this? Why didn't Hideki fucking tell her about this?!

She'd been too slow to step off of her platform, and before she knew it, Daisy had been sent flying, a loud, girlish scream of 'FUCK' able to be heard from her even from the ground. Shit. She was in the air. She was going to die. She was going to fucking die. There was no way she was going to land from this height! She wasn't a bird! She didn't have any boots or...or anything...! How the fuck was she going t--Wait.

Those strings! She'd used them a couple of times on her dolls, but...she didn't understand them nearly enough to think this was going to be useful. Would this be useful? Who knew. It was the only shot she had, honestly. She'd pulled Junketsu from its sheath and made to concentrate, pushing her aura into it before waiting for a good time to--There it was!!

It was a jerk of a movement, Daisy tossing her sword blade-first into the trunk of the nearest tree. Surprisingly, it worked, Junketsu's blade anchoring itself deep enough in to the trunk so that Daisy yanked back, and then around....and around, and arou-- SNAP!! The tiny huntress wasn't able to keep her aura solid for as long as she'd wanted it to, the tether to her anchor snapping like an old thread and throwing her halfway across the clearing, over the head of some unknown figure, and headlong into the branches of a tree several feet away. Arceus, she was a failure....but at least she was alive...she guessed.

"Ow...."
