The Dorkiest of Dorks.

His ears perked up as he gazed ahead, standing perfectly still for a while. Of course he heard the rumours surrounding Launch day. Him and Atash had been joking about it, nudging each other now and then. And now it seemed that the rumours hadn't been wrong at all. That actually, they had been right. How was he going to find his brother in this chaos? He knew it would be a minimal chance. But yes, he would still try. Promise was a promise after all. Puffing out a breath, he readied himself, already grasping his weapon from his back. His eyes found his brother's for a moment. Quick smiles were shot to one another before he felt a force eject him upward into the sky. So much for giving a pep talk. To now or never. Odd eyes focused on the people that passed him by, brows furrowing for a moment before landing back on his direction. Taking in the sight if the mountain coming closer and closer. There was a quick glance given to the forest around, but deemed too dense for his taste. Teeth were gritted together as he turned his weapon a bit, pondering before glancing around. He started to twirl the weapon, releasing a blast of ice that slowed him down a bit. A second blast of ice slowed him down enough to hit the ground without harming himself, rolling over and back up to his feet. When odd eyes could finally take in the surrounding. "A cave... You're expecting me to step into a cave." he whispered mostly to himself. A cave was dark. He did not like the dark. At all. Flicking his tail once, he looked back at the forest, determined what he already had determined. The forest was too dense. "Fine." Sucking in a deep breath, he started making his way to the entrance of the cave. |

Cherise never really thought of any type of strategy. She always figured they could choose their own partners, they always did so back home, so the red head wasn't concerned in the slightest. Until they pulled her away from Logan and making them stand on some strange platforms. As the first row of students were flung into the air, Cherise shot her brother a startled look, this changed things quite a bit. Pulling her daggers out of their sheaths, she shifted her stance seconds before the platform went off and catapulted her up ahead. Bringing the blades together transformed her dual weapons into a double edged chain, intending to latch unto the trees up ahead, except that they were so close together she wouldn't be able to without potentially injuring herself. Aim for the ground was her best bet, she thought, quickly throwing one of her daggers in front of the opening of some sort of tunnels. Hands gripping the other end as she slammed into the ground in a crouch. Cherise tested her ankle and knees before pulling herself up. "Oh for fuck's sake." The red head huffed at the sight of the practically impossible to navigate forest behind her, the tunnel before her and the Faunus that stood in between it. |

His ears pricked up when he heard the noise of another body being flung to him, eyes widening momentarily. Oh and how he hoped to hear his brother's voice when he would turn around. Alas, that wasn't the case at all. It wasn't his brother's voice that reached him. Instead it was another voice that came to him. A female voice. And for a moment he felt his heart sink. It wasn't his brother that would be in his team... But perhaps there was a slight chance they would still be in the same team. Even if it was just a slight chance. "No need to sound so excited." spoke the Glaceon Faunus, lips curving up in a somewhat teasing way for a moment as he took in the form that had landed nearby him. Female, human; no doubt, red-head, and quite the mouth on her too. Whether it was because of the situation or him being what he as, he didn't know yet. Adorable how people seemed to hate so much on Faunus in countries that were not Orre. Very different. None the less. "So. I am assuming I should start calling you 'partner' now?" he spoke, tilting his head a bit. "I'm getting in the cave. I don't suppose you've got a light?" he chuckled before making his way forward. "Zemar. By the way. My name." |

Cherise narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the Faunus, trying not to stare too much at his features, as she quickly tried to figure out just what type of Faunus was he in the first place. With a sharp pull on one of the daggers, the pair changed back to it's original form, which the red head quickly re-sheathed. "You're not exactly who I was expecting to call my partner. No offense." She let out an exasperated sigh as he asked for a light, mentally kicking herself for not thinking of bringing a flashlight or something and reluctantly followed him forward. "Cherise," the red head had to sprint to catch up to his pace, "Let's just go through this thing as quickly as we can, I need to find someone." She prayed to Arceus she could find her brother before he got himself into trouble. She chewed on her lip nervously as the light behind them started dimming, cave shouldn't be that bad, it's not like the teachers would put them into any real danger right on the first day. |

He was aware of the girl's eyes fixed upon his features, but he decided to ignore it. He cared little for her opinion until it mattered. And he tried not to immediately think the worse of her. Maybe she wasn't a Faunus hater. Maybe she was merely curious. Breathing out a soft sigh, he rubbed his thumb over the weapon in his hand for a moment before laughing. "Don't worry. That makes two. I expected someone else to bump into me. But it appears it shouldn't be so. Perhaps I'll find him later on. So far, so good." spoke the Glaceon faunus, lightly waving his hand in the air before peering back at the ominous cave in front of them. He could only hope that in time, they'd end up with a bit of light in the cave. That would be nice. Go through the thing as quick as possible... "A pleasure meeting you, Cherise." he spoke, shooting her a fanged grin before walking along. He wasn't sure if they would be in any immediate danger... But he knew not to trust anything. Trusting too quickly would end up with you dead. "Keep your eyes open." |

"Well," the red head announced, picking up her pace, "I plan on finding him ASAP." She waved her hand back at him as she walked on ahead, "Nice to meet you too, Zemar." Cherise was impatient and she didn't want to waste any time talking. They could introduce themselves properly later. The cave they were walking through was starting to make her anxious as it became a little more difficult to see ahead. "I'm starting to think it won't matter if they're open or closed.. getting too dark in here.." She remembered hearing that faunus had better luck seeing in the dark, so perhaps letting him take the lead was probably a better idea. The red head stopped in her tracks, "Aren't you supposed to have night vision or something?" |

The sound of skittering through the cave was faint, but it was most definitely approaching. It didnt take long for two surprisingly large hexagonal eyes appeared the ceiling, acting as a flashlight for purposes. The strange black white and red creature looked at the hunters as it decended onto ground level, a large grin emerging on its face. For now? It just stood there, tormenting the humans in front of it with a delirious laughing noise that echoed through the cave. |

"Oh. What do you know. Apparently I do." drawled out the Glaceon Faunus, perking up his ears and giving her a glance, smirking to himself when the human started walking past him, in a hurry to get where she wanted to get. "But that doesn't mean I like the dark any less." he casually muttered with a shrug of the shoulders. "Things lurk in the dark. Grimm, often people too. Then again I assume this place won't." he hummed mostly to himself, brows furrowing thoughtfully as he walked along, fingers touching Winter's Touch quietly. He wondered if it was a friend that she wanted to meet up with. Or family. It was very possible after all. Him and his brother had both joined the Academy, he wouldn't be surprised if more people thought the same... "Ah... Why did you ask? Do you wish for me to continue leading? And here I thought you were doing splendidly on your own. After all, you seemed so sure of yourself when you bolted past me." he stated with a wide smile. "Best be careful though, I think..." he tilted his head a bit, turning Winter's Touch a notch. A grin split across his face. "I think we got company." he simply ended, eyes dropping on the Grimm that had dropped before them, laughing almost deliriously. How charming. Was he allowed to bring back anything of the Grimm? Perhaps it would do good for study. |

Cherise gave him a look, resisting the urge to stick out her tongue at him and instead opted for snapping her head away with a roll of her eyes. "I know /that/." Typically she was the sort to lurk in the shadows. But in a tunnel like this... She was out of her element. Nowhere to hide and too cramped to maneuver like she usually did. "I wouldn't be surprised if there's any professors lurking around this area with us..." The red head gave him another look through narrowed eyes and slightly puffed cheeks as she suppressed an annoyed sigh, "Nyeeeeh, whatever if you can see better than I can-" Her eyes narrowed, trying to find the source of the sound as her hands instinctively reached for her weapons. With a curious tilt of her head, Cherise stared at the Grimm before them, "That sound is annoying as fuck and I vote we shut this thing up." |
