Melody had stayed silent all throughout the morning, taking the time to collect her nerves off of the floor, and reassess her landing strategy for the 100th time. If she landed wrong, she'd be nothing more but a splatter somewhere in the forest. Plan two was find Mayu, somewhere. But internally, she knew that was pretty hopeless. She listened to Sycamore and Diantha's instructions very carefully, taking note of her surroundings. Nobody familiar, just as to be expected. She almost wished she had attempt to actually make friends with people aside from Mayu. That'd better her odds at not getting stuck with somebody awful. After being lost in her thoughts for awhile, she heard the sounds of springs, launching, some jarred screams. She quickly snapped to her senses and right before she got a chance to ready herself, her pad shot her into the sky. The wind whipped at her face as she quickly remembered her plan. Find something soft, something she could crash into, bounce off of. She had much greater aerial maneuverability than most, and she needed to take advantage of that. She spotted a mushroom, a particularly large one somewhere among the trees and carefully readjusted herself in midair, angling her head to the ground and her feet in the sky. It was do or die. She engaged the boost function on her boots, rocketing towards the mushroom at a breakneck pace. Next came the practiced maneuver, flipping around so that when she landed, she wouldn't crush her own skull. It was an awkward process, but she boosted her boots in the air a little bit in an attempt to slow her descent. It didn't really work. Melody crashed into the mushroom at high velocity, feet first, exceptionally glad her mother had shock-absorbers put in the bottom of the boots. That didn't stop searing pain from shooting up her legs, or the spores from the mushroom popping out as she very nearly crushed it. The Mushroom flexed, and then bounced back, flinging Melody much slower at a nearby tree. She hadn't anticipated that, and crashed into the tree side first, falling to the ground with a hard thump. Despite the stinging in her legs, and the rising flush in her cheeks from the embarrassment of landing so awkwardly, she stood up and took note of her surroundings. Some kind of... Fairy forest? It was oddly pretty, but pretty was almost never a good sign. In the world of Grimm pretty also meant deadly. She quietly drew her spear and walked around a particularly large stump of a mushroom, looking for any other sign of life. Her partner for the next 4 years was either somewhere out here, or landing soon. One of the the two. She just hoped they didn't suck. |

The day had finally come. Belle had waited for this for a long time and it was finally here. Most of her morning had been spent preparing. Cleaning herself and her weapons, polishing her landing strategy (it wasn't very fancy but it would work) and she ignored anyone who tried to distract her. Some people knew what she was and had tried to ask her about it, but she ignored them or said it wasn't important. There were more important matters today. The chance of her actually dying were slim, she knew this. Today was something she'd prepared a lot for. A landing strategy was important to have to avoid injuries on the first day. At least serious injuries that would render one useless for a longer period of time. Sycamore and Diantha both wished them luck and Belle could've sworn Diantha gave her an extra glance before they were launched. Perhaps she just imagined it too. It didn't matter, now she had her landing strategy to focus on. Her two Metang fists were spread to each side and slammed against first a couple of trees to slow her descent, followed by her landing on a huge mushroom, letting her bounce off and land on the ground with support of her weapons. Belle took in the area for a moment and brushed some dirt off herself. Someone could have landed nearby and she needed to find them. It was time to find her partner. Despite how lovely this area looked, Belle kept her guard up. Appearances could be deceiving, something Cody had told her several times. Don't let someone's beauty fool you, they could be hiding the most hideous beast. That was the reason he'd made her to look the way she did. Belle didn't look threatening to most people, unless she had to fight them. People were in for a surprise if she decided fighting them was necessary. Hopefully the only ones she'd be fighting would be grimm. That was why she was here after all. After settling her Hammer Fists against her back, keeping them up with her semblance, Belle walked towards a big mushroom. She'd heard a noise earlier, maybe someone had landed over there? There was a person on the other side. A girl. Had Belle seen her before? No, she couldn't recall. "Hello." she offered a polite smile and a handwave. "It seems we'll be partners from now on. I'm Belle." |

The sudden sound of a tree being hit by something that seemed incredibly blunt caused Melody to jump a little bit, her grip on her spear tightening further. She assumed a ready stance, backing away from the origin of the sound. Wait. What was she doing? That sound was proably another hunter. That sound was probably and definitely not Mayu. When she realized this, she holstered her spear and prepared to make a break for it, pausing as soon as she turned around. She was in the middle of preparing to jump, but she froze. She was already face to face with a person? Am awfully polite person who seemed to be floating two laege claw hammers behind her head. A person that... Didnt seem quite like a person at all. A person that sounded a little empty, a little hollow, a little... Mechanical. Melody's eye twitched and she quickly glanced up to her surroundings, perhaps looking for traces of cameras. It was no use, she couldnt find any. But surely if she jumped away now she'd get reamed by the bitchy vice principal faunus later. Melody rolled her eyes and took one good hard look at the girl(?) in front of her. She was so calm, so... Melody sighed. "You've gotta be fuckin' kidding me. Not only do I not find my friend, but my partner for the next four years..." Melody trailed off, somewhat unwilling to finish that sentence at the moment. "It's Melody, now lets go, the longer we stay her the more time we waste." Melody drew the spear off her back and stuck it soundly in one handed form for easy transport. And then she started walking. Where? She didn't know. Edited by Melody and Cassidy, Jun 19 2015, 08:41 AM.

Despite Melody's reactions, Belle gave her a small, polite smile and nod. The faunus followed the other girl quietly, keeping her eyes open for any sort of unnatural movement. The mushrooms were so huge, what did they even consume? Growth mixtures of some kind? They should get out of this area and go find the other two they were supposed to team up with. Whoever they were, Belle knew they could work together. That was the reason they were here, to team up and defeat grimm. They wouldn't get any other choice than to develop a good sense of teamwork. While they walked, Belle thought back to what Cody had told her when she was going to the Academy. Keep your focus and protect your teammates. That shouldn't be hard. Just two rules. She was always focused and now she would soon know who she should keep safe. Obviously they would be able to defend themselves, but it was practical having someone watch your back, right? Cody had told her to do it and it only made sense to obey him. That was why she was here after all. That was her purpose. Defeat grimm, keep people safe. Two simple rules. After today she could report back and tell him of her progress. He'd be proud! Was that movement back there? Belle stopped and looked around when something in the corner of her sight caught her attention. It was really quiet, other than her and Melody's footsteps. Her hammers spread out in reflex and she waited. |

Melody marched ahead soundlessly, attempting to figure out what to do with her new 'partner'. She stopped a fair distance after the sound of footsteps stopped trailing her, and pinched the bridge of her nose before turning around hesitantly. The battle droid stood in a small clearing, apparently looking for something. Melody looked back at the direction she was headed originally, internally knowing that she had absolutely no idea where she was going. Was the robot triangulating their position? Finding the relic site? Getting into hunting mode? Whatever it was doing, it distressed Melody who hesitantly took a step towards Belle. "Hey? What's the problem, why'd you stop moving?" She asked, a small bit of bite and frustration in her voice. She was on the battlefield, and setting the robot off would just complicate matters. She knew she had to 'play nice' for the time being but the pressing fact that her partner for four years was supposed to be an automaton still hadn't quite set in. "You lookin' to kill something or?..." Melody asked, the bite still present. |

"Yes." Belle saw no reason to tell her otherwise when that was exactly what she was waiting for. If they kept quiet though, maybe it would just pass by them and they wouldn't need to fight it. "There's something over there but if we don't provoke it we might not need to kill it and we can move on to our destination safely." She still kept her hammers ready, just in case. If something jumped out at them, she wanted to be able to retaliate easily. A nice, hard piece of metal right in the kisser should do the trick. This area probably didn't have anything too large. It had a very Fairy like aura and atmosphere. Belle looked around once more as if she was scanning the place. But not quite scanning, simply taking in the surroundings and judging it logically. Her gaze fell to the ground. A lot of grass and flowers. Something could possibly be lurking around them and they didn't even know. Something looked like it moved and the clone slammed her hammer fist at the ground. When she removed it again there was nothing there, but maybe it had scared off something nearby with the vibrations and noise from when her weapon made contact. "We can probably move on now. But watch your step." |

Belle had been correct in being suspicious of the plantlife underneath their own feet. A Floette grimm, who hadn't been overly fond of the unexpected company, had been lurking nearby and glaring at the intruders. When the artificial had smashed its precious territory, though....oh, it was not down for that. It skittered away to put some distance between it and the hunters-in-training, the noise from the impact bringing out its companions. A total of three floette and a shroomish gathered around the hunters, coincidentally all behind Belle. At once, the floette leapt at her, needle-sharp fangs bared, and a nasty glint in their eyes! The shroomish opted to stay behind, shaking itself and slowly beginning to fill the area with a paralyzing spore. |

Wait a second. So. Belle looking for stuff to fight, had drawn a few grimm out of hiding. This was the worst. This was supposed to be easy but killbot 3000 had just made it so much harder than it needed to be. Melody tensed, reading herself to charge into battle. "Oh for the love of fuck you just had to cause a ruckus didn't you!" Melody snapped, quickly extending her weapon, as a soft whir hummed at the ground just under her feet. There was then a loud snapping sound, not unlike a gunshot that nearly exploded from under Melody, launching her through the air, spear primed. Her aim was to crush the floette charging her new partner. Maybe show off a little. Get the killbot to listen to her and maybe respect her and maybe this would go smoother. If she was lucky, she'd split the tiny violent demonflower in two. |

"It would either scare them away when realizing we're a threat or lure them out for us to clear the area." The clone watched Melody launch herself up and by calculating where she might land, Belle sidestepped a little. There was no need to get stomped or speared by this angry female and she heard other grimm around them. With one swift move, Belle swung her hammer at one of the Floette. "Spores." she called out calmly. That was inconvenient. If they got paralyzed they wouldn't be able to move on. Not as quickly as they should be able to. "Don't inhale it. It'll paralyze you." Belle looked over at Melody again after she'd finished her swanky technique. Impressive. Melody would prove a good partner, despite her... current aggressive attitude. Perhaps she needed someone to talk to when this was over. Belle didn't think that person should be her but Melody did seem a little tense right now. What could possibly be the reason?
