No one went to the entrance of the school anymore. Everyone had settled in, and the cool evening air washed over the courtyard. As such, Clovis had chosen to come out here, instead of his usual haunts on the rooftops of the buildings. Curled up into a ball, he sat at the feet of the statues of the Elite 4, his headphones over his ears to block everything out. Face buried into his knees and arms tightly wound around them, he did his best to calm. Himself. Down. Where had his team been? Where had anyone been? Why had everyone cheered for them? Did anyone even feel that perhaps, 3-on-1 had been, oh, he didn't know, perhaps unfair? Unfair, and morally wrong? Were Faunus in the right even if they pulled a stunt like that? No doubt if he had managed to do something like that, he'd get booed out of the school. As if he hadn't already. Faunus. Filthy faunus. Was it any wonder he didn't like them? The things they did, what they could get away with when they had numbers on their side. Beating an unarmed teen like that, detention wasn't enough! Sure, he'd wanted to hurt that girl, and sure, he'd spouted some nasty things, but that obviously made it okay for them to gang up on him! No, he wasn't bitter at all! No, he wasn't sure that most everyone on the scroll feed hated him! NO, HE WASN'T UPSET IN THE LEAST!!! But in the end...he was the one unhappy with the result. So it was obviously his fault, right? He'd done something wrong, and this was his punishment: loneliness. Probably eternal. No, it couldn't be eternal, that was stupid. But maybe it was going to be eternal. No, he was being a drama queen, as his mom put it. But maybe it was going to be eternal anyway. My life. Is. Over. Edited by Clover, Jun 28 2015, 01:15 AM.

"No, really. I'm telling you there was this huge fight. It was actually kinda... Well. Wow." spoke the teen, looking over at the red-haired human who rose an eyebrow. "And you're saying Clove was in the midst of this all?" questioned the red-head, closing his eyes halfly as the other one nodded. "Most definitely was in the midst of it all. Three Faunus ganged up on him. Well, no. That's not how the story goes. Apparently he got into a fight with one of them and the other two were team members and dashed in the ring?" stated the teen, making Nick blink once. "So you're saying the fight happened in the ring?" he asked, earning a snort. "Yes, didn't I mention that? Anyway. He got a pretty good punch to the face. I say it was deserved. He always talks shit about Faunus, nothing like you! Sometimes I can't believe you two are related." It caused a light scowl to appear on Nick's face as he shoved the other lightly. "Well, we are. So watch it. He's still my cousin and yes, I know he talks shit about Faunus but it's not like it's without reason. Sort of." he grunted as the other student put up his hand. "Soooorry. I'm just saying." uttered the Nidoran Faunus, slapping the other's shoulder once. "Anyway, I need to go study. You enjoy yourself, Nick!" he called, waving once before walking off. It caused Nick to let out a soft sigh before turning his head. It must have felt unfair to Clovis... He wasn't sure what all happened, he hadn't been there to see it himself, after all. Otherwise he surely would've sped to his cousin's side. Puffing out a breath he finally started jogging to the courtyard, in hopes that perhaps his cousin was there. The place was deserted most of the time anyway. People had other places to rush to. There had been the rooftops too, he would check there if the courtyard was a wrong call. It didn't take him too long to stop at the courtyard, stopping for a moment to catch his breath before finally walking forward and looking around, until his eyes fell on a familiar sight and he tilted his head before rubbing his cheek once. And finally did he walk over to his cousin, clearing his throat before reaching out and giving a small tap on the shoulder. |

A small tap on the shoulder was apparently all it took to make Clovis jump at the moment. He jolted and jerked his head up, looking like he expected to see someone he didn't want to see. There was fear, though he tried to hide it. "N-Nick?" he stammered, hands balling up and gripping his sleeves. "Wh-what're-- when did..." He bit back the question on the tip of his tongue. He didn't even really know if Nicholas had been at that fight, and right now, the last thing he wanted to do was get into another squabble. He wanted to tell Nicholas that he wanted to be alone right now, but what he wanted and what he needed were two very different things. And although he didn't know that, his body apparently did, refusing to let him say much of anything. Feeling his throat close up, he slowly leaned back against the statue, knees still bent. He slowly took his headphones off and stared at the ground next to his feet, eyebrows furrowed in great concentration. Had Nicholas seen the fight...? Even if he hadn't, news of it had probably spread around like wildfire. Clovis didn't doubt that he was one of the most hated students in school at the moment. Regardless, where had Nicholas been? Clovis grit his teeth, still swallowing words he wanted to say, but knew that he shouldn't. "Come to tell me off again?" muttered bitterly. |

Nick blinked twice at the look on his cousin's face, brows furrowing before he let a smile curl around his lips, slowly putting up both his hands. "I come in peace, I swear. No need to jump and flee." he joked half-heartedly before putting up a hand. "And before you can say 'I want to be alone', I'll answer with a big fat 'nope'." he added quickly, leaning against the statue and folding his arms over his chest. "Oh yes, that's me. The big bad Nicholas. Here to tell off people for bein' one-minded." he joked, shaking his head once. "I'm not here to tell you off. I'm actually here to check on you, see if you're alright. And I'm tellin' ya, you don't look too alright." he spoke, brows furrowing worriedly. "Clove, I've heard tons of rumours already and I don't know which ones to listen to... But you know.. You can talk to me, right? I won't judge you. I'm not here to judge you, I've never done so either. You're my cuz." he spoke, giving a light fist bump against the other's shoulder before climbing up next to him and sitting down. "What happened, Clove? I wasn't there. I was studying with one of my team mates. Nice guy, really. He's from Orre. Anyway, all that aside..." he spoke quickly, waving a hand in the air and wrapping an arm around his cousin's shoulder, pulling him a bit closer. "Are you okay...?" |

Tch. Nicholas always read him like an open book. It made Clovis feel kind of pathetic, really. But as much as Nicholas preached about open-mindedness, as well as Clovis knew Nicholas, he didn't really...feel like he could trust anyone at the moment. And then...Nicholas mentioned Orre. Clovis' brows furrowed. "What're you even doing, hanging out with people from Orre!? Don't you know they're..." An image of Seth flashed in his mind, and Clovis found himself at a loss for words, reduced to frustrated grunts and growls. "Whatever," he scowled at his knees. "Fine. I'll tell you what happened. I just got ganged up on by three faunus, for one," he spat, glaring daggers in Nicholas' direction but not feeling brazen enough to look directly at him. "Realized that I apparently made an enemy out of, I don't know, the entire school? You have a scroll, you read the feed." "That....that bitch had two of her teammates come up to help her, after she fucking ground my head into the floor. Two teammates. And me? I got beaten to the ground and kicked several times. For mouthing off. Like an idiot. It was fucking great, everyone cheered. Everyone." An angry, faint hum filled the area the angrier Clovis grew. He felt tears well up, and stared straight ahead as if doing so would stop Nicholas from seeing. "And where was my team? They were there, so where were they when I needed them? Where was anyone when I needed them!? Where were you!?" |

He gave a light hum when the other mentioned Orre, nodding solemnly. Oh, he knew the people of Orre were kind of rough around the edges. Though Xavier didn't seem rough around the edges at all. Xavier was actually a sweetheart, as his sister would say. The other one though, Xavier's partner. Now that was a real piece of work. Shit, he even managed to piss off Nicholas. And Nicholas had a lot of patience when it came to people, really! Usually. Not with Tyson though. He peeked at Clovis when he trailed off into frustrated grunts and growls, tilting his head a bit before giving a toothy smile. "A bit wild?" he questioned before letting out a breath. "Trust me, Xave's okay. I was surprised how okay he was, seeing he came from Orre. Did you see the other Orre twins? I believe there's two of them. All four seem a bit... Well. Wild." he pondered before shaking it off and waving a hand in the air. "Anyyyway. Go ahead, I'm all ears!" he stated, listening quietly as Clovis spoke, nodding every now and then before finally sucking in a breath. Where was he. "Clove. I just told you. I was studying with one of my team mates. I didn't have the time to go to fights. And I didn't even know the fight was between you and a Faunus. In a way, I'm not too surprised. It was bound to happen-- Not you being bea-- Well, no... That was..." he trailed off, looking hesitant for a second before looking at his cousin. "Clovis, you're my cousin, I see you as a brother. But you know I won't hold back calling you out on bullshit if it's needed. So... Tell me... How did that fight even start. Why did you start a fight with a Faunus? As for the team mates... Why did they end up rushing in? Was it for reason, were they protecting their team mate?" Silence fell for a moment, though he did not move away from Clovis at all. "How far did you want to take that fight, Clovis." |

Holy shit, Clovis did NOT want to hear about what Nicholas thought of the Orre kids here. None of them. He didn't want to hear Nicholas tell him (again) that he wasn't at the fights either, he KNEW that. What shocked him, though, was hearing Nicholas pretty much almost say that he deserved that. His eyes widened and he looked even more guarded than before. "How far?" he growled. "How far? How FAR!?" he bellowed angrily. "You know what!? Before that, I just wanted to beat her in a match! You know, until the fucking ref called it quits? Because I'm not a fucking animal, Nicholas!" he roared, getting to his feet. "Now, I think I'd rather throw her to a pack of Croconaw grimm! You wanna know why they rushed in? You wanna know what that girl said to me when I was down on the ground, eating dirt!? Politely direct me back to my lane, she said! BULL. FUCKING. CRAP. YOU DON'T FUCKING SAY YOU'RE BEING POLITE WHILE YOU AND YOUR FUCKING BUDS KICK THE SHIT OUT OF A GUY. YOU TELL ME THAT WAS RIGHT OF THEM, FROM ANY ANGLE. TRY IT. CALL ME ON MY SHIT, I fucking dare you." If not for his gloves (or aura), Clovis' nails would have probably caused his palms to be bleeding by now. The hum around him got louder and angrier, buzzing like a nest of hornets. "I said one thing, Nick! ONE. GODDAMN. THING. ONE OPINION THAT HARDLY WARRANTS, I DON'T KNOW, GETTING BEATEN UP BY A GROUP OF RABID FAUNUS AND THE CHEERS OF THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. You know what that felt like? It felt like the goddamn riot all over again." He grinned angrily, wickedly, and bitterly for a moment, but it near instantly faded with a jerk of his head. "Fun times." He spun around and walked away for a few paces before stopping, a hand coming up to comb through his hair. "Ooooh, next thing I know, you'll be saying I deserved it too," he said through clenched teeth, sounding as if he wanted to laugh. "Home is better than this. I would rather get the shit beaten out of me by my mom on a daily basis, than have to deal with this bullcrap. At least, when I go home, I fucking learn something useful towards being a goddamn hunter." Edited by Clover, Jun 28 2015, 02:46 AM.

Nicholas bit the tip of his tongue when the other growled at him, snarling out his answer. It made him lean back a bit and inwardly berate himself for the words he blurted out. He hadn't meant to make the other feel like he was at the side of the Faunus, he was not. But he knew how biased Clovis was when it came to Faunus. And yes, he understood why. He had heard all about it! But it also made it hard sometimes... Though Clovis was right. What they did had been wrong too. Goading someone when they're down, never a good thing to do. He slowly put up his hands, keeping his icy blues fixed on Clovis. "I won't, I won't. I'm just saying you're biased when it comes to Faunus, Clove. You tend to smash them all together and claim all of them are shit. I know your opinion on them. And well. We're at a school that's mixed with both Faunus and Humans. Kind of hard to hate on half of the school for being a Faunus, right?" he spoke, gnawing on the inside of his cheek once before breathing out. "I'm sorry." he finally spoke, hopping off the statue and looking over at his cousin with a faint frown. "I'm sorry I wasn't there and I'm sorry it went that far. I'm sorry about my shitty wording too. And no, I won't say you deserved it." he uttered, shaking his head before rubbing a hand over his face. Words, Nick. W o r d s. Use them. But for God's sake, try to use the right ones, so far, everything is shit. "Nah, home's not better if it means coming back to a mother who molds you into her perfect image." he muttered underneath his breath before glancing over at his cousin. "Look, I'm sorry Clove. I didn't mean to make it worse. Let's get something to drink, a snack, get on the roof?" |

"Well I certainly wasn't proven wrong, was I?" Clovis shot back, eyes narrowed. "Makes it aaaawfully hard to believe that not all faunus is a thing when they were all cheering for me to get my shit kicked in. Makes it hard to believe that anyone at this school isn't an asshole, when everyone in the stadium cheered when I was on the ground. Ganged up on. UN. ARMED. Did I mention I'd taken off my gauntlets already? I'd taken my gauntlets off already. I was fucking unarmed by the time they started wailing on me," he scowled. He took a moment to breathe, his head buzzing and hurting from all the anger. It only worked a little, and the angry hum in the air got quieter by a couple of decibels. "I was asked my opinion on faunus, and I stated it, Nick," he said through gritted teeth, his hands gesturing for emphasis on his words. "It's not like I beat anyone up, and it's not like I ran through the halls screaming 'I hate faunus!!' I. Was. Asked." Clovis forced his shoulders to relax, realizing just how hunched up they were. This....this wasn't the right person to get angry at. He knew that. But even though he knew that, it didn't help. He unclenched his fists, then clenched them again, directing his glare next to Nicholas' foot. "As for food and drink, I'll pass. I'll probably get attacked the moment I step foot inside, whether it's physically or verbally." Edited by Clover, Jun 28 2015, 03:28 AM.

"You're right. It does paint them in a wrong light." he sighed, leaning back a bit and balancing on the ball of his heels. "What a mess this is. Jeez. Hissing and spitting at each other." he mumbled to himself, raising his eyes to the sky. Yeah, it felt wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Nobody at your side. Everybody cheering on the other side. Being ganged up on. It was wrong. They should've dealt with that differently. He remained silent for a while before finally giving a light nod. "That was definitely not okay. They shouldn't have done that. I hope they got detention?" he questioned, brows furrowing before he walked over and sighed softly. "Okay, I'm sorry. You're right. You're not in the wrong." he stated, rubbing the back of his head. "Well.. I got some soda in my room? We can chill out there. Get something to snack." he spoke, lips curving up faintly. "We don't need to step into the cafeteria. And I don't think everyone wants to come around a corner and pounce at you. Even if they'd try, they'd have a gun to their face, I ain't lettin' them attack you for nothing." |
