Logan sat on a bench out in the courtyard, not far from the Champion statue, as he'd mentioned in his text to Faye, failing to look completely miserable. Thankfully the area was deserted, so no one was giving him weird glances. He was trying to convince himself nothing was wrong, he just had difficult teammates, things would get better. None of it was really working. Every argument he came up with came with a "but..." following it.

He rubbed his face and tried to keep his breathing steady. Faye was coming, and he didn't want to disappoint her, too. When he noticed her coming, his breath was still a little shaky, and he wasn't feeling any better, sitting hunched over with his elbows on his knees.

"Hey..." He mumbled as she got closer.

Logan wasn't hard to find. The fox spotted him from afar, hurried over to him, bending over just slightly so that they were at eye level from his hunched over position. Faye offered him a small smile, "Hey, team leader~"

She straightened up and settled down beside him, offering him a small box with a sticker on the lid that indicated it came from the Academy's cafeteria. "I got you something sweet, thought it could help you feel better?" The faunus hoped it would at least.

His teammate's perkiness made it hard not to smile, just a little. He straightened as she came around and sat next to him, his eyes quickly attracting to the box even before she offered it to him.

"You... did?" Logan asked, torn between being confused and happy. "Uh... Thanks. What is it?" He asked as he took the box from her.

"Y-You didn't have to," he added hastily, looking back up at her.

"Open it~" she chimed cheerfully, and waited until he opened the box for himself where he would find a handful of different cakes and cookies from the cafeteria, most that he had tried at least once. She remembered some of the ones she had seen him enjoy in the past few weeks.

"Eating something I like tends to make me feel better when I'm upset.." She was about to ask him if he was okay, quickly stopping herself since she realized it was a pointless question.

The zoroark watched him carefully for a few seconds before asking a different question , "Want to talk about it?"

Logan did as asked and smiled a bit more at the sight of the mostly familiar treats. "Wow... You got all these for me?"

He didn't intend on getting an answer, he was just in awe someone was doing this for him. Someone other than his sister was actually being... Nice to him. Incredibly so.

Wasting little time, Logan grabbed his favourite from the collection and took a bite, humming happily. "Mhm."

Logan managed to finish a second bite by the time she finished her question. "Uh..." He was torn between wanting to get it out and wondering if he should. She had been so nice so far though...

Logan nodded. "I... I feel like being leader was a mistake. Why was I picked? I suck at fighting. I'm scared of two of my teammates, one of which my partner. Either of them would be better, wouldn't they? I have no idea what I'm even doing!"

He sighed and slumped back against the bench, shoving half a cookie in his mouth.

Faye couldn't help but grin at his expression, she had hoped the treats lifted his mood up at least a bit, and it seemed like it worked. She partly regretted asking if he wanted to talk about it, since it seemed to bring him back down.

The Zoroark could only give him a sympathetic smile, and a small shrug, "Maybe that's why you were picked? I.." She hummed to herself before continuing, "The professors should have their reasons for who they chose to be leader in each team... Maybe they could be better, maybe not, I don't think we'd ever know for sure."

Atash and Jonas were similar in a sense, she thought, they didn't really strike her as leader material either.

"It's only been a few weeks, Logan. I'm sure you can figure things out. I think you'd be a great leader! Besides, we're here to learn, remember?"

Logan shrugged and nodded a little. "Yeah. I guess," he said through the last bite of his cookie.

He finished eating it, swallowed and took a deep breath, nodding and then looking over at Faye. "Thanks. A lot. I mean it. I've..." He wiggled a little, looking down at his lap suddenly. "I've never really... had anyone but my sister before. You know, I think she'd make a good leader! I at least wish she was on my team."

With another sigh and another shake of his head, Logan picked up another treat. "You want one? I know you got them for me, but, I don't mind sharing. There's a lot here anyway."

"Don't worry about it, we're teammates, and that's what teammates should do!" Faye paused for a few seconds. That was were teammates should do.. Right? She couldn't help but think back on Jonas and Atash's words on the feed, ears flicking low for a moment, their behavior didn't really fit in with her views on teammates...

"You and your sister are really close right?" The Zoroark smiled, taking one of the treats he offered her, "Thanks~ I'm glad to hear you sound better at least by the way."

Logan nodded. "Yeah, That's what I think too."

It was just too bad his other teammates didn't think so. Why were they even here if all they were going to do is their own thing? The whole point of this was to work as a team. He had honestly expected people here to be a bit more... mature? Well, he had hoped. Expected was maybe too much.

"Yeah, really close," Logan said as he continued nibbling on treats. "It's just us, and our mom. Our parents died when we were really young, so, yeah, just the three of us."

It was funny how he could talk about something like that with less pain than people just being mean, which was something he'd have thought he'd be used to by now.

The Zoroark frowned, resisting the urge to fidget, thinking she shouldn't have brought that up, "I'm.. Really sorry. Shouldn't have brought that up..."

All in all, she wished she had someone like he did. Spending all her life with her father, moving from location to location didn't leave much space to make her friends her age. She wondered what it was like to have a sibling. Maybe she would be able to understand how their teammates acted. Faye shook her head to dispel her thoughts.

"Um.. I know you're from Kanto, do you miss it there?"
