Benji rolled an apple around in is hand, frowning at the fruit for a moment before adding it to his plate alongside his steak beef bowl and package of beef jerky. It was a scant few days after the raid and Benji had yet to completely recovered the immense energy he spent dealing with the lion in the gardens. His Aura batteries were lower than usual and as much as he would like to have choked down his necessary calories through steak, steak, and more steak, his heart would thank him for picking up something that his favorite foods usually ate. Benji passed his dining card to the cashier, glancing around the cafeteria for someplace good to sit. For a moment, he couldn't see anyone and toyed with the idea of eating outside for a change. Then he noticed a familiar pair of ears sitting off to the table by herself and Benji snatched his card back, snagging some chopsticks and making his way over towards Adina. Team ABRN had quickly become the subject of gossip at school after reportedly felling two nasty Grimm in short order. Benji didn't envy them (the less horrifying monsters he fought, the better) but part of him was curious whether A) the rumors were true and B) how the team had managed to accomplish it. "Is this seat taken?" Benji asked, sliding his tray into the empty seat across from Adina. |

Adina mindlessly picked at her food-- both pasta and salad barely eaten despite needing the nutrition. Although the first Grimm they had taken out was easy the second one had been tougher-- with it's attacks effective against the majority of her team, there was a point where she worried her team wouldn't make it without serious injuries. On top of that, the whole event had hit too close to home... She looked up when a familiar voice spoke to her, and gave Benji a small smile before shaking her head. "Mmm, no it's not taken," Adina said. "Ah-- I'd actually like the company." She sheepishly added. She didn't want her teammates to know how nervous and unsure she had been the fight, she felt as leader she should appear like she knew what she was doing. Benji would understand her-- right? "How have you and your team been?" Adina asked, watching him settle into the seat. |

"Good to hear," Benji said, sitting across from her, biting into the apple and chewing thoughtfully. "Wasn't looking forward to perching on the windowsill eating my lunch like some kind of pigeon or something; too high up on the food chain for that nonsense." "Team's fine; no casualties or even injuries so must've done something right," Benji said with a shrug. "Got a tad fusterclucky towards the end but does anything ever go the way you planned it? Especially when ravenous, brainless monstrosities are involved. Some of us got electrocuted, some of us got slashed with long razor claws but on the whole, can't really complain." "Also," Benji said, pointing an accusing spork at her. "You never told me you were the captain of Team ABRN. I'd ask you how your team did but I think half the school knows by now." |

Adina laughed at the mental image of Benji as a pigeon-- he was much too flashy to be a pigeon. "You'd be more of a peacock, if any thing." She teased. She also couldn't help but laugh when Benji mentioned plans going awry; she knew that all too well by the time the second Grimm came into the picture. Funny how the dogs of Hell didn't like to abide by plans. Adina blinked when Benji pointed his spork at her. "I thought the A in ABRN would have tipped you off that I was it's leader?" She replied, pushing his spork down like it was a deadly weapon. "And you can always ask anyways~ I'm sure the efforts of my team have been...expanded upon, to put it lightly." She wasn't even sure how word got around that they had taken out two Grimm. Was it Cassidy or Victoria who told everyone? Not that she didn't mind the attention, it was nice to see Team ABRN be recongized among their peers. Edited by Adina, Oct 6 2015, 08:38 PM.

"Hardly," Benji snorted, taking a healthy bite out of his beef bowl. "More than one person here who outdoes me in the peacock category. Nah, I'm much more of an effortless kind of guy but if people think I have style who am I to disagree?" "Full disclosure; I've never met or really had lengthy conversations with anyone in your team other than you," Benji said with a small shrug. "I'm not even one hundred percent sure of your last name so you could have easily been R, B, or N for all I know...but now I know." "And I would hardly say "expanded on," Benji said. "Well, one or two accounts featured the four of you hatefucking half the Grimm in the forest with intercontinental explosives but since we're all here and not irradiated I think we can say that's not how things shook out. So what exactly happened? Are we talking two minor Grimm or something more serious?" |

"You'll become well aquainted with them soon enough," Adina replied, chest puffing in pride. "And it's Adina Vuillard-- I didn't think you were the type to forget names~" Adina's prideful expression turned into a frown at the rather interesting addition to her team's efforts. "Who would even-- you know what, I don't actually want to know," Adina started, shaking her head. Fantasies involving her team were something she didn't need to have explained to her. "Two Grimm-- the first one was a Donphan me, Cassidy and Victoria took out all in one hit. The second one..." she trailed off, feeling her skin crawl at the memory of the Houndoom's yowl tearing through the gardens. "It was a Houndoom." She paused for a moment, thoughtfully chewing her salad. "Hey," she spoke up after a moment of silence. "You ever... feel unsure of what you're doing as leader?" |

"Last names more than first," Benji said. "I didn't think I would have to in your case; not too many other people named Adina kicking about in these woods, are there?" Benji stabbed a strip of beef, popping it into his mouth along with a sporkful of rice. "I don't even know who started it and I'm not really looking to find out," Benji said, listening to Adina's account of the day. "One hit for such a large creature? That's quite impressive...unless you turned it into a newt or something in which case...no, no that's still impressive. I imagine the Houndoom was a bit trickier to handle though." Messy monsters and destructive to boot. Houndoom were walking plague fires according to his memory. Psychic types didn't handle them well either which was more than enough reason for Benji to give them a wide enough berth. Adina's question caught him off guard a little so he took another bite of beef while he thought it over. "Well," Benji said, shrugging a little. "Never had a reason to. My team did well in the past and we don't work out that much together. Can't even say I'm really friendly with anyone except maybe Melody and that's only when she's not on her anti-Faunus kick. But, when the chips are down, we seem to make things work." "I think if I did," Benji said diplomatically. "It would mean I have my team's best interest at heart and wanted to make sure we were effective and safe whenever we stepped out there. Of course...if I was, it wouldn't be in a fight. Doubt can work well for strategy but not for tactics, if you catch my drift." |
