My Nikon P7000 is starting to go... Not sure if I should send it in for repairs or just buy another camera. I used the P7000 more than anything. I use the S8100, too but it doesn't have the P,S,A,M modes. If I send it in, I will be without for a while I imagine and I need it by Nov. 6th. Gotta figure out what to do.

Brand new these were about $450. I got mine on sale on Amazon at a decent price. There were issues with these models that had to be corrected with either sending them in to Nikon or updating the camera (which usually didn't work anyway, lol). I had to send the camera in because there was dust within the elements and since I had to send it in for that then I got the software upgrade. I may have to send it in to be repaired but first gotta open up a case. SMH

The Big Camera

Ahh, No the big camera is still good; Nothing wrong with that one. It's the little one that is not working properly. It seems that when ever I use that big camera that is why I get stopped by guards, police, etc. I haven't been stopped once since I've been using my little camera. I found a formula that works for me because getting stopped is so damn annoying especially since I know none of you probably never get stopped at all.

By the way, if you're looking to buy the same model, there are places that are selling that camera pretty inexpensive now a days. Nikon D5100 Brand new it was about $900 but you can get it for about $400-550 now. It's a great camera, too! It's not that heavy and it may or may not include a lens. Usually it comes with a 18-55mm lens. I recommend the 18-105mm lens if you can. Usually runs around 250-300 bucaroos but on eBay you can find some nice deals there. If you like Canon, you can check out the same one that Mule has. It's a decent camera and as you can see he's had no problems at all. I've encouraged others to buy that same model, too. WHen Ritz was going out of Business, a coworker of mine got the same model for 350 brand new in box with a lens. She got a great deal!

People are selling their stuff left and right. Just make sure you read the fine print, check out their feedback, ask any important questions like: Are there any other flaws that I should be aware about (dings, dents, scrapes, scratches, gashes, etc), is the element clear? Any visible dust in the element? Battery compartment free of corrosion?

I've encountered all this stuff before meaning that I've bought items on separate occasions and have found these flaws with cameras that I have purchased so it's good to ask a lot of questions. If they get mad then don't bother with that person. They are obviously hiding something and just move on until you find something else that tickles your fancy. Another novel written here. Get used to it, lol.

oh I've been stopped plenty of times you just dont know that... actually very few know even with a little camera I guess people think your doing the obvious and want to be nebby and see what your doing.

If I get anything best believe its going to be off Amazon I'll never do a 3rd party company even if I was desperate because thats just asking for problems. The most I ever spent was maybe 300 for my old SLR Fuji it was a great camera too got it from Circuit City right before they went out of business because I believe the original price at the time was 400-500 the quality of it was ok but it wasn't great I was originally aiming for a sony dcs-h10 but the stupid damn fuji caught my mind I think it was because I had a previous one (S3100) that held me up for some time I got about a good 1,000 or more pics out of that thing then it finally starting crapping out on me lol

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has been stopped. It's been a while now but I don't hang around for hours at a location.

Got the Nikon P7100 and it's better than it's predecessor however, I bought it used and the problem with that is that you have to rely on people's honesty and well, the camera was described as mint blah blah blah. I get the camera and it's very dusty! I cleaned it up and looks pretty good, was well taken care of for the most part. The guy gave me a free memory card (cheap memory card, bah, lol). So, I've been testing it out when I get the chance.

I will be working quite a bit for the next week or so. Not feeling so great right now but feeling better little by little. I was suppose to go to Fright Night tonight but I just don't have the energy to really go and hang out until 1am then have to be at work at 830am. I was looking forward to taking some pics of the buses that came through the Kennywood area but maybe next year since this is the last weekend for Fright Night I believe. Too bad, I was going to ride the bus out there (I was offered a ride but I would rather ride the bus) but maybe I should have taken up on the offer since I am not feeling that great.

I posted an image today with the new camera that I got. It's a matter of getting used to it. It's exactly the same but the damn memory card makes it run a little slow (response time after registering image). Wish me luck! ;)

It's a shame that cameras don't always last so long. I notice that when one gets a new camera, the images are sharp, clear, concise and look great. After taking and flipping the image counter a few times, the images start to look a bit dull which means it may be time for a new camera. Which one to get, lol. No, I'm not talking about the DSLR. lol
